I'd forget this game very quickly because there is nothing to kill you ever. the rails and running is just transitiions, it is not main challenge. Sonic GT is my most replayed Sonic fan game of all time. The scoring system addicting. This game is the first Kickstarter I ever gave too, can't wait for final release. ♥️🎿💨
This just feels like a Sonic fangame rather than a new original game. It sucks because I LOVE the character design and overall look of the game. But the fact that you can skip ALL the platforming just with a jump or roll is frustrating to see. It does remind me of everything I dont like in fangames. Hopefully the devs can keep improving it so I can give it a chance later on
At this point I would say the aerial movement is part of the platforming. It's actually alot harder than it looks to pull off the air tricks while not slowing down. There's still a good amount of ground based platforming, especially before you master the level design.
Huhhh… it’s always disappointing to listen to this You can’t just dodge all the platforming without skill. You have to find and Use terrain To gain height and maintain speed In order to go fast If people Made a game where You ALWAYS have to do the platforming and every jump was mandatory it wouldn’t even be a game it would be a A button presser simulator
This is what I like most about good platformers. If you are skilled enough you can do huge shortcuts that are incredibly rewarding. You can’t just press a button and skip the whole stage, it requires skill
Not only do the physics and momentum in Rollin Rascal feel on point but the level design is on point too with lots of paths and ways you can approach it. Bucaneers's Beach can be beaten in 2 minutes or less once you get really in tune with the game.
yeah for real! There's so many tricks with the air kick, air spin and dash. I had like 3 hours more after Bucaneer's beach doing the online stages. I feel like I could come up with some really creative ways to beat it now.
I really love the amounts of love and care put in this game! That smoothness, the momentum on the hills, the amount of speed and thrill you get traversing throughout the stages alone!😌✨️👍😊 plus the music is fire too!🔥🔥🔥Just too beautiful even for words! I really hope that this game gets the attention it deserves!
It's not hard to see the inspirations/comparisons with Sonic, but Rascal is good on it's own. I never knew Gabriel was the creator!🎉 Other than GT, this also gave me Sonic Utopia and SA1 vibes. XD
While this game can use some elbow grease when it comes to the platforming, i still love how just like Freedom Planet and Spark the Electric Jester, this is another game made by a fan of the Sonic franchise doing their take on it.
Not enough people are talking about how perfect the music is! The high energy feel you'd get from sunny Sonic levels is all there, it's hard not to hum along
The player looks way too overpowered to complement the level design... It's sad because otherwise the game looks awesome and epic. It just looks pretty boring to play past the first 5 minutes. Almost zero to none enemies, no obstacles, just running foward et flying over the level. Sorry for my unpopular opinion
I agree 1000%. I felt the same way with Sonic GT as well. I don't feel like the game is going to challenge me if all the enemies are so easy to avoid and the map is so big that the chances of me hitting a trap or falling in pits are so low.
I mostly think the difficulty and appeal of these types of games comes from the simple fun of keeping up your speed (and score) while not losing it. Especially when your moveset is so involved with the terrain. (Rolling down hills speed you up faster than running, bouncing on certain terrain can influence your trajectory, running up walls keeps your speed up better, stuff like that y'know?) Though this is a bit of a limited showing since they only have the starting levels, and shows that they can get much more difficult with the platforming and obstacles (time trial levels), so who knows
When I was a kid, Sonic clones were a genre we kind of looked on cynically, while we replayed Sonic and Knuckles again. Now we're basically doing it ourselves because the actual Sonic series has been inconsistent. Specially, games like Spark and Rascal demonstrate that there are people DYING to just play Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 again, more specially, for SEGA to have kept making games in that style. After Sonic Adventure 2 they pivoted to Sonic Heroes, Sonic 2006 was trash, and Sonic Unleashed switched to a completely different style. The Sonic Adventure -style of gameplay never got to be perfected. There was never a Sonic platformer that felt so awesome that it legit rivaled contemporary Mario games again, which I don't think is going to happen with Sonic games pivoting to the boost style, even though I really enjoy those games. Strangely enough, Sonic Unleashed, Colors, Generations (minus the werehog levels) got that formula down out of the gate and Sonic Forces may have shown that there was nothing left there. I've only played the Sonic Frontiers demo, but that felt like SEGA punching out of its weight class in trying to turn Sonic into Breath of the Wild (an interesting idea, I don't believe they can execute).
Crazy how even Sonic's copies are surpassing him This game feels more Frontiers than the actual Sonic Midtiers But Dream Team seems to be again, a step in the right direction, tho its every time the same
Sega should see this and weep. This is the Sonic game they wished they could make since Unleashed. It’s design is absolutely beautiful, polished, physics appear super fun, and it’s truly inspired. What an incredible achievement. Cheers & hats off to the creators! May you have a long and successful career! ❤
Same with spark, at this point im just waiting for sega to let another studio take a shot at an official sonic game. Because they cant do it right themselves.

Knowing people like you, you're gonna say Dream Team is bad too, so I shouldn't even bother.
@@mysterholmes345 It does not break it at all, its a spinoff mobile game. I'm giving it credit of being good, but it isn't even a widely accessable game to begin with.
