Come on humidifier companies! All we want is 5-6L, top fill, adjustable mist directions, and set/automate humidity settings. It's amazing how none of them have come up with this yet.
Of course, there’s one. The Elechomes. I have one. Awesome! www.amazon.de/Luftbefeuchter-Anti-bakterieller-Raumbefeuchter-Fernbedienung-Aroma-Diffusor/dp/B07SPY93RL
Holyfox that humidifier allows you to set a specific humidity, but I prefer the humidifiers that allow you to set an automatic RANGE. Mine will keep it between 55-65%. It uses less water that way 😊
Please consider adding captions (the non auto generated).. also please consider keeping the product name somewhere while your talking about it or next to you. It's very easy to forget which one you are talk about.
I purchased a Levoit humidifier....used it once (1st overnight).......all the water leaked out into bottom chamber, and after that the left over water saturated my desk! CCC Austin, TX
Thank you this was so very very helpful!!! My plants hang in front of windows so the last one actually sounds perfect to humidify small areas. Thank you again
Just remember.. optimal moisture level in a home is 40-60% ... if you go to 75% and above black mold will start to grow and no one wants mold in the house.. health hazard.. My home were at 20% before i started my humidifier this winter season.. I run a Haze PCMH45 with a 30 litre water tank.. Its a big device, also has connection for external water connection so you never need to refill it manually..
This! If you’re going to use a whole room be sure to take out the carpet and install a floor easily mopped, and paint the walls w scrubbable paint so you can keep everything clean.
I have the big levoit and I purchased it before the craze. But I sometimes I wish I waited because like you said I would love to have a top fill humidifier and the cap is such a pain in the ass to take off. It makes me not want to fill it sometimes. Thankfully I haven’t had to use it this summer or I would be very frustrated lol
Wow I really appreciated the clarity and specific pain points and how you use each filter. And come through with the variety. The first one is so cute! lol. Also love the tee 🙂 I keep seeing in Amazon reviews mentioning a white powder buildup from minerals, from hard water. Can you share anything about these Demineralization Cartriges? Looks like Amazon's top seller is from Homedics for $17. Is the white mineral buildup that serious? I've been using 3 essential oil diffusers in different "zones" or "gardens" in my home lol. But I'm ready to big-girl it, and get a humidifier. I think we have pretty hard water, but I am not buying gallons of distilled water every week, even for my plant babies.
lemonan thank you for the suggestion. For now, the video is already posted and I won’t be redoing it until another humidifier impresses me. You can click on the link in the description and see more on the humidifiers I mentioned 😊
I like your channel! You are very informative and interesting. I love your plant unboxings the most, but who would have thought I would ever sit down and watch a detailed video on humidifiers?
I am sorry, but I have just re-read the TaoTronics TT-AH001 Manual, Page #9 [appears to be the one you have three of], it makes no mention of the Auto Mode Mist level, only Low, Medium and High [which the Levoit does have]. Please review and clarify. Thanx! I do like the video.
I.m going to purchase the Taotronics... Curious if you keep yours on the floor? Or was that only for the video...? I always read it should be on something off the ground :)
one of my ultrasonics just stopped sonicking and i’m looking for a replacement. where do you live? i am curious about your climate. i’m in minnesota and what would work for me here might be pretty different from a person in tennessee for instance. that last one appeals to me, but if it doesn’t put out enough to do the job the price is a bit high. thanks for your help!
Regardless of what state you live, almost everyone’s house has low humidity because air conditioning units pull moisture out of the air. If you have extra dry air, I recommend getting one with a larger tank capacity. Around 4-6 liters should work. When you first get the humidifier, it will need to be refilled more often because it’s working in a dry climate. But after a week or two, the moisture will be more consistent in the air and you usually won’t have to refill it as often. Unless you keep your windows open. Then the air will circulate more and you’d be refilling a humidifier constantly regardless of the size.
@@plantmyhappyspace3477 we don’t have AC (except a window unit used occasionally in july) but MN winters and a hardworking furnace do a job on humidity. my main issue is being able to clean the pink scum out of the tiny bits of the humidifier and i don’t find any easy solutions there...but thanks!
Look for humidifiers with either a top fill or a large enough hole to fit your hand. Elechomes has some options I’ve been using more recently and I enjoy them. Pour vinegar into the tank and let it sit for an hour. After that, most of the pink stuff will come off on its own. Anything else should be easy to just wipe off after soaking.
Hey, yes I have. But it’s literally only been about 4-5 days. I use tap water and she (tri star stromanthe) seems to be okay for now. I’ll probably go home re-clean the diffuser and put it on again. It last no where near as long as an actually humidifier though. So I’m guessing that the effect isn’t as helpful,... for an emergency plant it may help for a little.
@@pancakesmoney is there some serious improvement in how your stromanthe is doing now that you’re using the stromanthe? i’m using pebble trays for other calatheas but actually not for my stromanthe and it seems happy. i’m concerned because it’s getting colder outside and my place gets pretty cold and dry. if i can use a diffuser to counter the dry air well enough then i’ll just use that no doubt
Hi, how do you keep plants watered and humidified when you are all on holiday and no one is in the house to take care of the many house plants? Thanks. I am subscribed.
Search youtube for a "self watering pot" system. Basically its a 2 pot capillary system. The outer pot is taller than the main pot. The outer pot sits on large rocks with a strip of microfiber cloth lining the bottom and all the way up the side of the outer pot. Then you place the main pot inside of this outerpot. When you flood the inner pot, the excess water falls through the bottom and into the "reservoir" amongst the large rocks. At some point the soil starts to dry and the microfiber will "wick" the water in and amongst the rocks back UP and rehydrate the soil. Some say this promotes gnats because the soil is always wet. also this isn't suitable for plants that you require the soil to dry out completely before watering.
Hanna Andrei if the inside of your house also gets very cold, then yes it’s very bad. But if you run a heater or keep the inside warm during winter, it’s fine.
Have you looked at the other Tao Tronics Humidifiers? I have 4 L and 6L no humidity settings but I can use smart plugs to program them to run for x hours at specific times. I love them. I have the one you referenced with the humidity settings but like these better
Kasey Petz I haven’t tried any other TaoTronics humidifiers. I like to set a specific humidity range instead of a timer so there’s less fluctuations to the levels. But I’m glad you found what works for you 😊 everyone prefers different things.

Warm mist option is important!!! Our house is cold (our father doesn't keep heat on all the time)
Hello. You should talk too about the sound / noise the different ones you have do.
I love learning about humidifiers
Heather Hoyas I’m glad you liked the video!
I like the idea of some easy to clean which I don't mind doing on a daily basis if it's easy and quick

What a great video with all the information I needed! Thanks :)
I've been reading about and watching videos about Canopy. I'm definitely impressed by what I'm hearing! It sounds much healthier than others.
You said it, something simple, easy to clean, no parts to clean, just wipe add water, go to the plug and plug it in.
If you’re keeping calatheas or others plant prefer high humidity I think warm mist is necessary.
Thank you this was so very very helpful!!!

love the video, you have any suggestions for humidifiers for room with carpet?
Suggestion: can you show the humidifiers longer while talking about it and maybe point out the anatomy of each?

Thanks for this video! You’re a natural.
I got the taotronics. They've been around awhile so that right there says volumes.
I checked Amazon and couldn’t find it but they have a livinArts Mimi portable for 19.98
So informative! Thank you
Absolutely not. No talk on work principles of these units and no comparison to each type there is. Cold mist vs worm mist vs natural humidifiers, etc
Would you also mention how customer service is with these companies?

I purchased the one she mentioned, it was trash. Humidistat was off, didnt work, leaked, sent it back. Not its no longer online. trash.
The lavote 600 does it ever need cleaning? And how often I don't want mole spores
and this one time, at humidifier camp
This was very helpful! Thank you 🙏🏻
Is the warm mist better for dry older skin I'm a senior.
On the last small humidifier levoit 100 dual 100 what type of water does it take do you have to use distilled?
The last one that's easy to clean how do I look that one up I am confused by the names on here
Thank you! Very informative!!!
Also would you review any fans? Tower fans? Or heaters? Heater fans?
It gets colds here but my plants enjoy their leaves moving around but don't like to be cold. Killing two birds with one stone
I read some reviews of the FIGROL on amazon which said the product melt and caught fire...
Angry man car park I have 3 of them and I have never experienced any malfunctions. But it’s whatever you feel comfortable purchasing.
On the Levoit Dual 100, the one at the end of video, how do you clean the area where the mist comes out?

Can I use my essential oil diffuser for now ?
commenting because i’ve got the same question lol. i’ve read that diffusers build up dirt quickly. have you been using your diffuser?

Hire someone to come every day/couple days to check in and make sure they're good.

I’m about to Ofer the Figrol Thanks
Wait it has bad reviews for Figrol. I know there’s different brands though I’ll check those out.
Will I die if I use city tap water in a humidifier?
how often does the taotronics one need to be cleaned
It seems like it goes from 65 70 can i set it at exactly 62%
What do u know about pm?
Will cool mist be a problem in places that get very cold winters?
Hanna Andrei if the inside of your house also gets very cold, then yes it’s very bad. But if you run a heater or keep the inside warm during winter, it’s fine.
@@plantmyhappyspace3477 thank you sm!

Do you have preference/recommendation for back-up batteries for the Figrol humidifier?
J Sweet the brands I use are Anker and RAVPower. Both can be purchased on amazon. But literally any external battery would work.
Do you use distilled water or tap?
Tap but not if you have hard water it should be filtered (check your water on ewg.org)
Thank you.
Do these cause white dust residue?
You won’t get that if you use filtered or distilled water
Got only one humidifier and 12 air purifiers each worth 800$ dust, formaldehyde, co2 and airborne polyester
Would love to see more of you 😉
