Hey guys! as I announce in the community section, I'll be uploading some of my non Aquarium related content from DannyMOG channel, to this channel.. and yes this is an older video, but people were searching for a review on this humidifier, so there we go :D I will come back with reviewing my favorite humidifier as well! 🧡

Hey Danny🤗; I have by mistake broke a Phaleanopsis arial root. But the root is still connected: by holding on the thin like string 😂 found inside the velomen. I have taped the arial root back together, and it seems it is not dying. Should I leave the tape on or cut the broken part?

OK Danny, I thought it could be an old video, so thanks for telling. The topic is still relevant, though. Just worrying about fungus issue going out in the air due to the structure, it's being humidifier, not evaporator. The filter is a bit doubtful. I use Boneco, should be healthier, but it's just not that strong. 🤷‍♀️

I have 2 of the same model humidifier. The problem I have with both is the thermostat sensor is always off. The room humidity checked can be 45%. The humidifier sensor display can be anywhere from 20%-60%. It rarely is even close to what the real humidity is. Thus you can have it set at 45% but it may not cut off or on because the humidifier may say it’s 30% or 60%. Any ideas how to fix.

The number one problem with ALL mist humidifiers is DAILY CLEAN IS A MUST. Otherwise, you will have a huge growth of bacteria being tossed in the air causing serious breathing issues. Evaporative humidifiers do no have this issue.

Sorry to hear your experience. I've got the same one and I have mobility issues, but for me this humidifier is perfect. I have not experienced instances where I would trap a finger or some skin. Although I do think they could have designed it with a few more handles. I find it's a really good price (I got it for 75 euros) for what you get and it is far more efficient at humidifying larger rooms than big brand humidifiers. I also really love that I am able to add essential oils onto a little pad on the side. The absence of a timer system is a downside. I can see that for someone with as many special plants as you, that a timer is almost essential

Thank you for a great review of the humidifier. I happen to own it and live it. I use in my plant room and bedroom at times. It is a little awkward when it is fill to out on the unit. Also if you have issues opening jars and such it can be a bit of a challenge. That being said I still love this unit, it is so quiet. I take my time when cleaning and filling. Blessings to you from Texas.

I use Magick oils in my diffuser. I would love to see a review on that as well too. I have mainly been using blue hills for my oil diffusing.
They last a long time. I would love to get one of these. But I had a diffuser like that and the base had cracked after about two weeks of nonstop usage.
Also you said the plastic water tub is very delicate.
Hmmm. Because I can diffuse oils for about a week without having to refill. Thank you for the review. I’m inclined towards buying it.

Well a follow-up to my comment/question 4 months ago. I will not be using a humidifier in my home again for my orchids. A few weeks into using the humidifier I started having issues with my Cattleyas that I had never had before. Some kind of fungus or mold started affecting a couple of leaves on 2 plants. I immediately stopped using the humidifier. I had to cut one entire bulb back that was very affected and a 1/4th of the leaf on another bulb. Once I stopped using the humidifier the room humidity level drops back to normal pretty quickly and no more leaf fungus. The room humidity is kind of low in the winter. Around 40% humidity, sometimes less but that seems to keep my plants healthy. The room humidity never really went much above 50% with the humidifier but the fungus problem emerged very quickly over just a few weeks. I'll have to keep an eye out in the warmer months to see how high the humidity indoors normally gets on any given day.

I bought the top filling 6L unit from the same brand. It doesn’t have two direction vents, which is one downside. But it has wifi with humidity targets for auto setting which is very useful (and phone acts like a remote).
I think I made the right decision. The bottom loading is not for me. I end up getting water everywhere lol. And I doubt I would need the warm mist setting I just need the humidity boost, not using it to regulate or influence air temperature (I have a Dyson hot cool purifier for that and AC in summer as needed).
The rest seems very similar features on the device UI just positioned at the bottom and more rectangular shape than round shape.

    • @tara_27244
      @tara_27244 3 роки тому

I think you’d enjoy the 6L top loading levoit with wifi ;). should address the majority of issues you noted in the video. It was $89.99 Canadian on Amazon to give you an idea of price. Hopefully it’s available to ship to your location.

My mother recently got a humidifier and was delighted with it until she discovered about a week later that the inside was mildewed and had to take it apart and clean it thoroughly only to have to do it again a week later. She boxed it up and never used it again. Her experience dissuaded me from every wanting to get one for my orchids. I love my orchids but not that much.

I returned this humidifier after only 3 days. I found the RH sensor was terribly inaccurate and it was difficult to fill and clean. Got a smaller top-fill humidifier, with a dial on-off instead of a button so you can use it with a smart plug to control remotely and set up a schedule; enjoying that one much more!

This brand has another humidifier that has a lid to fill from the top, it’s wider and I believe with all the features you mentions. Wifi, phone app, a better auto system or a scheduled option with commands for specific temp, time and days under smart settings. The downside to me is that it only has cool mist and only 1 mist nozzle. I actually have both.

Please don't modify to top fill. With bottom fill you avoid catastrophic leaks and I suspect this is why the product is designed like this although inconvenient. If you go ahead then the top fill point MUST be 100% air tight when closed.

How long should the humidifier be on? All day? A few hours? The humidity in my home in the winter drops to about 45%. I have a cool humidifier I recently purchased for my Cattleyas. Left on long enough, basically 24 hours per day, with 3 to 4 refills per day, it can raise the humidity in my apartment to about 50%-55% over a period of 2-3 days. That's measuring the humidity from a distance in a whole other room. Probably higher humidity % in the immediate area around the Cattleyas and humidifier.

It's about 30 dollars more because it also has the wifi and can be operated with an app or Google or Alexa like you mentioned. It also has memory so it remembers the last settings. And you can set up a schedule. Also. Those are mineral absorption pads. They keep minerals from building up on the heating element. Not filters. Lol

The tank is slightly over 13lbs when full which isn't bad at all.

The number one problem with ALL mist humidifiers is DAILY CLEAN IS A MUST. Otherwise, you will have a huge growth of bacteria being tossed in the air causing serious breathing issues. Evaporative humidifiers do no have this issue.

Lift the white top rectangle thing , you fill the water there on top!! Not on the bottom.

If you use only distilled water you don’t need to clean. Algae can’t grow in it and no mineral deposits

      It sure can!
I used to see algae growth in a bottle of ultrapure water, which is laboratory grade water that’s even purer than the distilled water you’d buy at a store.

@@gregkosinski2303 no such thing. Pure water is pure water. H2O. There’s no ultra element. Now filtered water is very different. Nearly all filter add some minerals. Things can’t grow with no source of energy. So whatever you saw isn’t and literally can’t be what you think it is. If so the water in my tank would have grown something but it’s sealed and not being used

It's warm mist, not hot mist. Relax.
That doesn't boil the water, just warns it a bit so that the steam can go higher and spread better. Just that.

Stay away from this product. This leaves white dust of minerals all over your furniture and appliance. I had so much trouble cleaning it. AVOID only if you can afford distilled water all the time of use. I regret so much buying this.

Air Innovations makes several styles of humidifiers-several are top loading! As the water level drops you simply pour in more. You can set the humidity percentages you want to reach, and the rate of air flow. It has a two-directional nozzle that you like. Plus it has a “tower” that allows you to raise the air flow up above the machine in two directions if desired. I also like that you don’t need to constantly replace the filter. Just clean and make sure you don’t touch the nebulizer. Read the instructions. I got mine from QVC but Amazon also carries it. There may be other outlets that sell than where you live. Not all models are top loading-so be careful when ordering. www.air-innovations.com/air-innovations-mh-903a-ultrasonic-cool-mist-humidifier-with-aromatherapy-remote
