I am not doing WWM but I recently wrote every art supply I have on a separate card. Each day or two I am selecting one card and using that art supply for artwork. One painting or 2 or 3 then next one. When I’ve gone through t them all I will start over. Make sure all my supplies and palettes are used it’s a brilliant plan!
I love this soooooo much!
Kristy, you're killing those Prompts. That's a cool traffic light! And your baby girl is soo cute. Give her a big hug.❤🦋
Aww thanks and will give her hugs!!
This feels like a college drawing class assignment we had. We had to produce small drawings that represented things…”soft”, “shiney”, “texture”, etc. It was surprising what students came up with.
Oh nice!!
I just got to your video and did a grid type as I do a daily artwork everyday. Thank you for letting us know about the prompts. I did 1-15 on one page.
As soon as I saw the "trunk" prompt, I saw in my mind an elephant trunk coming in from the side of the page, picking a little flower. 😊
Love that!
I feel like there’s probably a lot more UA-camrs providing watercolor tutorials these days. I only have so much time to watch tutorials and there are a lot more offerings vying for my attention than when I started this journey a year ago.
Yes it’s def a saturated place to create :) It’s all good. I love doing no matter what :)
I love the patch and the stop light. All of them are beautiful. You did in 3 hours what I have forced myself to do over 11 days. Great live!
I’m not gonna lie it was intense but I’m super glad I did it!!!! Thanks for watching!
Kristy, thank you for being so generous with your joy, your time, and your encouragement! It is always like painting alongside a friend.
Your welcome :)
2 days late to the party, but I LOVE😋 the studio! Beautiful!
Thank you :)
It was great!
Hi Kristy - I very much enjoyed this video and then did some 15 prompts of waterpainting. I bought a new brush, cats tongue, quite expensive but absolutely worth it and new for me. I would have ordered from you but I am in Amsterdam and I am worried about shipping costs and taxes....! I like your channel... learning about watercolors from you... they are quite special. Warmest. Jackie
So glad you’re here!
Re Patches... What I'm hearing is you have a great idea for a series of stickers and/or stamps 😉😉😉
Yesssss!!!
I like the patch. I am doing this challenge too. Having fun doing it❤
Awesome!!
Just come across you channel I'm so looking forward to learning from you to paint, you make it look fun too thanks for your energy love x shirley
I don’t know if I saw the cacti’s I will have to check it out
I eat those Lily’s dark chocolate chips. So good.
ETA I love the “signal” painting!!! ❤ I’m working ahead because I know I will have an off day so I just did a kitty paw for “scratch” 😂
Awww so smart!!
??? I’ve been watching all afternoon on tv. Is this a for real live. Omgoodness ❤️❤️❤️
It’s just ended about 10 min ago so yes!!!
Wow. I actually saw it live. I’m going to do the challenge. Thank you.
I'm doing wwm it's my 5th year in a row of doing it. I've only been painting in watercolor for 6 years. I look at this time of year to really push me and every year I learn so much in doing it. So far my hardest one was trunk because I chose to paint a caber tosser tossing a caber (tree trunk) the squats position they take anatomy wise was way out of my comfort zone. While I think I did good on it it's hard to tell he's squatting and lookd more like I was painting a dwarf from d&d I still like UT though
It... ugg my phone not ut
I thought for sure you were going to do a flower patch like a garden of flowers.
I'm confused about how hippo is a huddle.... but it's cute and I'm loving it so far
Well I cheated because a group of hippos is called a huddle but I just tried to paint 1 and put a x8 after it because painting one stressed me out enough!
@@KristyRice actually they are called a bloat, a pod or a herd, but can also be called a crush or a thunder. I thought that too but I wasn't sure so I looked it up. I had thought wow clever idea a huddle (group of hippos) and was disappointed when it wasn't on the list. I thought about trying to draw a football huddle all day but tgats too difficult I gave up on it but will try after I sleep on a different Idea. I was so hoping a group of hippos could be a huddle because I thought that a much easier thing to draw. I think im going to go with huddled under the covers. Maybe put another drawing of Trgan (my pup who was in my patch page) I'll straighten it out soon.
Your studio is lovely the windows wow! It would be inspiring to paint in that environment. I. On team replay today.
Thank you l!!
I hear you fine
I'm two days behind! I combined the trunk and buried in an ocean scene with a treasure chest buried in the sand. Trying to catch up.
I’m now 11 days behind again! Oh well!
Cool we both thought of rusty watering can. Great minds think alike
Indeed!
I love all the hanging plants
😘😘🌿🌱
Omg those where the same finger I used to suck on tilll I was at least seven. I did have to have braces but doesn’t everyone. I’m now 66 and have the best life ever. I do wish I could have had a mother like you are amazing!
😘😘😘😘
Omg i love the progression patch w.o.w patch sounds good to me. When i was a little kid (like 3) my parents put all my dads helicopter job patches all over it ant ut was the coolest. I wish i still had tgat little jacket bc who kniws where it went. There were a lot of very unique patches and 1 of a kind patches on it.
Gosh yes! Love patches!!!
Such a fun video! I have to be honest those prompts killed me, but watching you kick those out was inspiring.
I have to know so what did you think of the paper? I was almost hitting the buy button but wanted to watch the entire video to see if you kept hitting issues. When you said you weren't sure if you were using the wrong side of the paper it gave me some hope, but obviously a live wasn't the place to investigate so I thought I'd just ask. 😂
I do love the paper. I do think it’s just some random sizing issues that you could expect with a bargain paper but overall it’s amazing especially when you use paper at the rapid rate I do!!
In a good way
I can be annoying but thanks!!
Love your little 3 shelf rolling cart!! Where did you get it?
Pier one imports years ago :(
Hi there , I can hear you just . That’s better I can hear you now
Tomorrow could you be on live painting some stuff please
#team replay
👍🏻
Your funny!
lol!!
Christy I feel the reason your show bombed badly the other day , I was watching along with you . For starters your cute little portrait of you , cute as . But o honestly you were doubting your technique far too much & you started coming across as though if we didn’t know your Chanel as we do mind you . Honestly you started to grate on nerves even mine in the end , but I was committed to seeing the final outcome of your little caricature . But you just seem to babble on a little to much and came across as though you were just a beginner to UA-cam . Just a very honest feedback from what I saw & felt compared to your normal style has been since I tuned into you 3 yrs ago
I appreciate that truly.. It was a new style of video I experimented with… and honestly I was out of my element with a portrait for sure.
I literally just sat down and played and let the cameras roll. I guess my audience prefers me to be a bit more composed lol! Thanks again. Always appreciate the honest feedback I ask for :)
Hi Kristy. No disrespect intended here and everyone has a right to their opinion but we need to discern what information is being discriminated in these days. Putting children in a “challenging” environment sounds like we need to make them uncomfortable. EVERYBODY knows that an uncomfortable environment results in a stressed nervous system which results in an elevated cortisol level which switches on the sympathetic nervous system. In other words the “fight or flight” response is activated and when that happens the rational mind switches off and the energy is transferred to the muscles which are now read to run or fight. This is DEFINITELY not conducive to learning. You above all can recognize that there would be no joy in wanting to go to school if it was to become even more uncomfortable. If you wish you can take this with a grain-of-salt but please use your rational mind to see the ramifications of this new study and why would the educational system want to implement this new approach. With love and respect. ❤
I didn’t write the study… or the book, just passing along information :) But I have seen anecdotal evidence that aligns with the study’s findings :)
I haven't read the information Kristi referred to, but I wonder if she's talking about the "optimal" range of discomfort that can result in strengthened resilience? If something is too overwhelming, a person will likely shut down and avoid. But, if it's not challenging enough, it can result in stagnation and disconnect. So, for many, the best learning happens with the right amount of challenge/ discomfort so that their comfort zone can continue to expand over time.
BTW- love your videos Kristi!
Good grief. Overthink much😂
There is a balance in the amount of challenge, (for more explanation on this I would recommend reading 'atomic habits') but to define all things challenging as something to be avoided (only do what is easy) also seems like a damaging message resulting in boredom that can also inhibit learning... Caveat: I didn't go back to listen through everything mentioned on this topic and did not see it pre edit so some things may have been cut out that I'm not aware of.
ok i definitely do believe that too much stress impedes learning but a well balanced bit of challenge, like doing a crochet project thats further advanced, for instance for me can really speed up how quickly i learn! i havent finished this video yet so sorry if thats not the kind of thing you guys are talking about! comments popped up so i read them first lol
#replay listening to you talk about UA-camrs struggle right now, I as a watercolor student of many wonderful artists have found myself extremely “over inspired “!! There is so very much content being put out, I am finding I have to limit social media time or my ADHD has me beginning many projects and when I go to finish or work on something, some new amazing tutorial has popped up and I am on to something else, never finishing anything 🤷♀️😞🫠
