I keep on meaning to make it, I love it sprinkled over popcorn and we’ve been having a lot of popcorn lately! I just never seem to have a clean dry Thermomix bowl when I think of making it heh

I've made the salt with lemon. We aren't big salt eaters really. It's great to make condiments for each member of the family! That's considerate and loving! That's you!
I must admit I sprinkle salt on just about everything, but I get regular blood/bp checks because of my medication etc, and nothing is ever out of whack so obviously I'm not overdoing it for my ability to process it hehe :D
I have never considered making flavored salts before! I think my sons-in-law would love these! I think I might make them some for Christmas!!! Thank you so much!
Great gift, because nearly everyone would use them in some way or other! I really like having the choice to use whichever flavour I feel like at the time heh.
Love making my flavored salts Nyssa! I’ve got a whole shelf of them…. I did a video waaaay back years ago on these and it was very popular. I love your flavors too xx Cathi xx 😘
I have a chronic health condition that also requires me to consume extra salt. Like you, I use salt a lot, so these seasoned salt ideas are amazing to me! Thank you xx
I like that I can have all of them avail and differing flavours for different dishes but still keep the main salt content of the dishes I cook low for the kiddos who don't need the extra salt :D
I love making finishing salts! My favourite is sriracha salt but it would probably only work for you in winter and not in your hot kitchen in the summer. Other ones I’ve made that I like are balsamic (reduction) salt Guinness salt Garlic, rosemary, chili salt Mushroom salt I know using a dehydrator isn’t possible for you but that’s what I use
We can run the dehydrator in summer on longer days, if it only needs a few hours to dry, the hardest part is the things that need like 24 hours plus, I can't run it at night!
Now that bacon salt is something I could fall in love with, I think the others sound good too! 😊I am always looking on the shelves of the stores for something new to season up my pork and chicken with and your mushroom seasoning would go well too😊Great video, as always❤
I really like it, it definitely has more sugar in it than I'd like, but I don't use it in huge quantities lol, and its so worth it! The mushroom salt goes really well on grilled meats Ive found!
I wish I liked added salt more, the mushroom salt seems so nice! I will enjoy watching it being used over the next few vids to work out if that would be worth the cost of making it vs using it
I use sumac to make za'atar spice blends. It is wonderful mixed with a little olive oil on flatbread ir over chicken before roasting. You can use in in salads, especially the one with torn up flatbread in it. Some extra uses might make it worth buying again.
Hehe, its just in a pony tail and needs a wash, its how it ends up, those big 50's ringlet style things with just a finger curl! I tried a bob once, but it all went like this lol, never again! :D
Hi Nyssa🥰 Great to hear the kids have come around & doing the dishes now. Hopefully they can see is a team effort to make everything flow now. These three sound delicious 😋 I’m going to make the mushroom salt today, I’ve got some mushies I dehydrated a while back. Do you get your Celtic sea salt from honest to goodness? And do you have an affiliate code with them?
I do, and no, I have a wholesale account, I don't think they do affiliate codes, but because I have an ABN when I buy I get wholesale rates so long as I buy over $500 worth. Though their pricing is pretty good on Amazon I found! and free shipping if you are prime, their stock can be hit and miss on there though.
@@OurSmallFootprint Oh cool thank you Nyssa! Shame they don’t do codes as I only found out about them through watching your channel. Have a great weekend 🥰
No bacon! :D. Thats why I make this one, I had a really hard time finding ones that weren't actually bacon based, I want all the flavours of bacon, but a nice easy shelf stable 'salt'
I have a question, does the Rosemary make the salt taste like Rosemary? I ask because I love the flavor of Rosemary but I do not like the actual herb in my food! (hope that makes sense) would letting a salt sit with Rosemary in it make the salt then flavored? (If you happen to know)
It theoretically should, because if you let salt sit with vanilla in it, you end up with vanilla salt and I can’t see why that wouldn’t be the same, the salt is going to draw the oils out of the herb/spice and therefore flavour the salt!
@@OurSmallFootprint yes it’s easier to be able to edit it. Maybe next shopping trip. Before you get into the shopping you could do one. I’m in Queensland in Yeppoon. We’ve been to Brisbane a lot this year as the are getting married there in October, so was thinking of having a look cause we pay twice to three times that much out here. ❤️
@@sharonpeta2390 I go to Mega Fresh at Browns Plains :D. I have heard good things about the Rocklea Markets as well, but I found a good spot so I keep going back :D
Sumac is yum. for those with a CASHEW ALLERGY this is a relative of them..
Thank you for that I wasn’t aware.
That made me laugh; "I made 3 different season salts, because I could".
Hehe, well there wasn't really any other reason, I could say, because I wanted a full video, but that wouldn't be true hehe, I just wanted em! :D

Whether they do them without me harping at them is another matter! lol
Love your videos and the roosters.

This is awesome! Never thought of making my own!!! A new adventure awaits!!!
So many flavour profiles possible, and so so so much cheaper than those little canisters of flavoured salts hehe.
Never heard of such, very interesting!
Super tasty, if you're a salt lover like me especially! :D
MOUTHWATERING GENIUS!!!!!! Never seen flavoured salt made before, really good video 👏👏👏👏👏 Love from the UK x
It is such a simple thing, but it just adds something to meals and I love being able to customise it! :D
Thanks for the video! I really enjoyed it. All the seasoned salts you made look very tasty. 😋
Thank you, I really enjoy having them available, worthwhile making batches to just sit on the shelf and use as required.
I love these recipes for finishing salts. You have made me excited to make some.
I love having the choice hehe :D

another great addition to have avail when cooking heh :D
Love this idea! I already make a seasoning blend so may have to try these flavor combinations. ❤️
There's so many different combos you could use to whatever flavour profile you are looking for! These are the three main ones I use hehe :D
Loved this video!❤ You were probably an alchemist in a previous life, Nyssa! Those salts look amazing!❤❤❤
Hehe, nothing so fancy! :D. They are delicious though, totally worth having on the shelf!

I reckon you could use it with very minimal flaked salt in the mix, just enough to fluff up the mix, but not too salty, but I do like salt lol :D
So inspiring Nyssa, you have me wanting to have a go at making these 🤩!
Such a simple thing, but they just add a little something to meals, especially when you eat a lot of grilled veg and meat like we do! :D

Oooh. Yes, we love dipping bread in olive oil, I’ve never looked at the ingredients to za’atar! Thankyou!
awesome shoulder curls btw! dunno what u did, but it looks very pretty :D

I noticed that Amazon has Maldon smoked sea salt (pyramid crystals). Also you might want to try gochugaru red pepper flakes some time (nice flavor).
Thankyou, I will check it out! :D

Did I miss how much bacon you put in the bacon seasoning salt?
No bacon! :D. Thats why I make this one, I had a really hard time finding ones that weren't actually bacon based, I want all the flavours of bacon, but a nice easy shelf stable 'salt'
I also have low sodium levels and I sometimes crave salt. I try not to go overboard with it though
Definitely, which is why the flaked salts and flavoured salts are good, just a sprinkle over things and you get that hit on the tongue hehe :D
I have a question, does the Rosemary make the salt taste like Rosemary? I ask because I love the flavor of Rosemary but I do not like the actual herb in my food! (hope that makes sense) would letting a salt sit with Rosemary in it make the salt then flavored? (If you happen to know)
