So much great Hawkwind, it was a core of a lifestyle, they were the original underground.

This track showcases violinist Simon House who had joined the band a few months before. He would later join Bowie, then Japan, then Thomas Dolby (She blined me with science!). It works well as a chill out floydy instrumental on the album because the opener before it has punky vocals over a slighlty manic grungy rocker.

Me and my wife saw HAWKWIND in Harlow Town Park (Essex) in the early to mid-70s. When they started we just looked at each other. They did a very long version of Silver Machine. In those days Harlow put on free "Concerts In The Park" in the summertime. Yes, we saw Mungo Jerry too back then.

Space Rock they were labelled, lol.
From the 1974 album Hall of the Mountain Grill. Simon House was playing violin.
Love Hawkwind from this period. Always a great journey. Many will say, and I agree, that you had to see them live. Good as the studio albums were, live they were at a higher level.
    Enjoyed this. Good reaction. 🙂

I think "Master of the Universe" is their best one. Oldie, but goldie : )

I love a lot of Hawkwinds stuff. Nik Turner used to get 1 or 2 of his songs onto the albums back then. On this album its D Rider. I absolutely love that song. These guys are still putting out albums that have good tunes on them. But its this period of Hawkwind I always find myself falling into. If you're gonna jam to some Hawkwind, its a good idea to keep the bong handy.

I liked the Charisma Years and the RCA Years as well. Even after that they have had some great stuff oot.
I did the Lightshow for a great Cover band called Deep Space Preservation Society and once for Hawklords..

Hawkwind The Forge Of Vulcan ua-cam.com/video/0Gn8v2I62Ao/v-deo.html
This is a piece of music called The Forge Of Vulcan by Hawkwind from the Quark Strangeness and Charm album. It is set to various footage from the development of the atom bomb. The theme is a build up from inception to detonation but not specifically correct.

I adore this album, but if there's any filler on it, it is this song. Not really filler, but a transition piece. It brings you down to a peaceful state after the previous song and prior to the next one, both of which are FIRE. I still love it, but you guys really should listen to Psychedelic Warlords and D-Rider, both of which will melt your brain.

Usually listened to this band under the influence of ganja, lol. Note the mellotron used to good effect.
