    So true what you said at the end...some of us with textured hair didn't know it for a while. I am mixed and thought that I just had fluffy/bad damaged hair growing up because that's what people said to me and my mom didn't know how to do my hair. Fast forward several years and I learned to style my curls and love them!

      It's interesting how what we're told growing up can kind of become part of our identity even if it's not true. And that's so awesome! I love self-discovery and happy endings 😊

    I really love you! I almost cried for the joy when I found you. My story is kind of the same. For years I was using straightener and bleached my hair in salons. 6 months ago I bleached my hair on my own for the first time and burned them all. Almost half of them fell. I am still really shocked and sad because they look really bad. I bought the products from lush because I really want to do exactly what you did and I feel like it's not working. I'm only on the 3rd shampoo with the products you used but they are still really really flat. No curly at all and I don't think the finger coiling is working. Maybe I should give up :( I will never get my curly hair back probably

    • @woosh4010
      @woosh4010 5 років тому +2

      Lucia Trombetta don’t give up there are so many other tricks and things you could use to help regain your hair. I recommend Shea moisture products they have so many different types of shampoos and conditioners for different curl types and ones specificities for damaged hair or transitioning hair and if that is too on the higher end (even for me) I would also recommend Aussie products they have a specific line for curly hair types and definitely recommend that. In general a lot of research on your curl types and testing what works best for you will help in the end though I know it’s very painstaking. Just take your time because not everyone’s transitioning period is that quick, give your hair time to work itself out and don’t give up too quick❤️❤️ wish the best for your curly hair journey

    We must have very different hair because heavy creams and oils weigh my hair down which is just what I need, and to go with one product or no product -- I would just be a fuzzy frizzy ball with my hair standing on end so that wouldn't work for me. I'm mixed race with black and Cuban but my mom was scots-irish with dry thin hair so couple that with kinky curls and you get hair that needs a lot of product

    • @AmandaBicket
      @AmandaBicket  5 років тому +5

      Absolutely! This won't work for everyone because we're all different 😊 So many factors, like porosity. My hair is very low porosity so that's probably why this worked so well for me.

    • @mandyinseattle
      @mandyinseattle 5 років тому

      @@AmandaBicket You are sooo lucky. I think my hair is the most porous possible and that's probably because I color it even with a gentle color (Ions) but it's always been highly porous and soaks up odors and water and frizzes when I even look at water, so I can't use water to refresh or I might as well just get in the shower and start all over. I wish somebody would do a video for Kinky-Curly porous lightweight hair. But I'll try some of those things you say are really heavy. I think in a disaster or an earthquake, I will find whatever I can like lotion or olive oil to put on my hair if I have to! Or maybe I'll have different priorities lol
      If you have any other tips for hair like mine, feel free!

    This is honestly so helpful for me! I’m 14 and in my family only my dad had curly hair but he has short hair so I never learned how to look after my hair type and I’ve been doing literally everything wrong. I only just found out through a friend who also has curly hair. Because I didn’t know how to look after it I would just straighten it everyday and use shampoos with silicone. I always wondered why I used to have ringlets and now I don’t and this is why. Thank you so much for this video💗💗💗

    I had always have naturally full curly hair but when i was younger i didn't like my curly hair but i still wore it. In middle school i started using heat on my hair and i started using it frequently in 8th grade. My curls soon were starting to become straight right now my hair is curly but underneath the curls i have way straight hair and i tried every curling product and i had a lot of split-ends and i tried to trim it but i'm not trying to go shorter, my goal right now is to grow my hair and get my curls back.

    OK so I'm using henna and it seems to have relaxed my curls a bit. Have you heard about this? Apparently amla can help. So I bought some. This is uncharted territory! Ah! haha. And you're so right about Shea butter! That stuff isn't good on my hair. Big nope.

Not your mother’s curl talk is sulfate, paraben, and silicone free and some other products for the most part. Curls from target is also good. Target has an awesome selection for those. • @LaMachineÉmotionnelle
    @LaMachineÉmotionnelle 5 років тому

    Woah I had no idea my hair had silicone buildup, but the way you described the hair and they way it feels and behaves I realized I have that exact problem. Like majority of my hair won’t curl and it’s rough feeling and very tangly and it just won’t curl at all, I’ve been washing and conditioning and using sheamoisture hair treatments and braided my hair down and wearing wigs while I’m waiting for my hair to heal. I can’t deal with it the way it is, the heat damage came from me wanting my hair straight for a while and I colored it while I was straightening it constantly. My hair was so incredibly damaged all of it became pin straight when I wet it for the first time. It’s been months and my hair is partly curly now. This is half because of my new growth and half because the under section I didn’t dye, and the curls are coming bath there. But everywhere else is barely getting a little wavey. Is it bad for me to be braiding it down and not touching it for a week, and wearing a wig? I’m scared to cut it because my hair was cut when I was younger and I hated it curly and short so much I straightened obsessively and it was incredibly damaged my whole life. Two years ago I big chopped and I was miserable until it started getting longer. But I was really determined to embrace my curls again. I really don’t want to loose length I just want the hair to heal and go back normal and I will wait for as long as it takes. But some people say I should cut it regularly and that will be better for my hair, my hair doesn’t grow very fast so I’m really hesitant. I’ve gotten it cut about 3 or 4 times since I stopped damaging it. can I just keep doing what I’m doing and incorperating the sulfate free products to see faster progress?
