Absolutely. Without Murray the Nuggets get packed up in the playoffs. With Murray, 2020 WCF, this year the Finals. Jokic has been phenomenal but glad someone is highlighting the obvious difference maker
It’s not when you really think about it. Jokic is getting a triple double no matter what. But if he’s getting that AND Jamal Murray is having a good scoring game, they usually win 9/10.
@@toolegit7668 Murray is good no one is taking anything away from him. However, jokic is the main star don't get it twisted. He needs help just like a lot superstars do. Shaq needed kobe, kobe needed Pau, LeBron needed wade, and so on. If it was the other way around jokic got injured and Murray was healthy then Nuggets is a lottery team. Jokic is the system or the catalyst for the team. With jokic, Murray can be himself which is a scorer. He's not a playmaker as a pg. He's a scoring guard. They both supplement each other. JJ as usual is wrong.
I agree Stephen A., I agree...it's inevitable the Nuggets are gonna win their 1st. I always thought David Thompson, Issel (The Missle) & Alex English when I thought about the Nuggets but, now it's always gonna be Jokic & Murray over those classic players from our youth.
Basically they need Tyler hero to come back in Game 4. To even out the talent level and give them more scoring punch. Jimmy butler is a little hurt and he has to spend more energy on offense/defense. So his minutes need to go down to about 34mins/game.
Him coming in reduces minutes for Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin. Not sure the heat want that to happen. Plus team chemistry will be a bit off and it’s too risky to do that now
Just think about the fact that he played pretty much the same like this throughout his playoff career, but until this playoffs he was regarded as a borderline choker and someone that you can't win with. The media influence is amazing.

I really think that Denver fans should thank Joel Embiid. Once they announced him as the MVP, Jokic has been putting up monstrous out of this world numbers, its like he was motivated to prove to the NBA fans and the media they got the MVP wrong. He's always put up big numbers but I've never seen him put up these numbers in previous years.
Many Denver fans, myself included, think that he purposefully played poorly (by his standards) in the few weeks prior to the MVP vote so he would not win. I can promise you at the very least Embiid winning MVP did not motivate him in any way. The dude just wants to win.
I love the Stephen a JJ combo. They compliment each other so well & they disagree all the time. I also like watching perk with JJ because Perk looks like he wants to murder JJ at all times 😂🤣😂🤣… and Jay Williams has always been awesome.
It's interesting that we take a look personal performance, setting finals records, and don't say that was the biggest impact. Jokic is the reason they won, but when you do it day in day out and it becomes expected it's easy to overlook. Let's be careful to not undermine Jokic's effect. I do understand their point that if he gets help they are unbeatable, but that doesn't mean that the help's performance is more important than the consistent amazing play.
Murray/Jokic remind me of the 2001 Shaq/Kobe = perfect merge of inside and outside dominance and offensively they are what the Pop Duncan Spurs were defensively, boring but effective.
This playoff run by jokic to me just boosts Howard’s stock because he was able to do a pretty good job against jokic in 2020. The lakers and heat could def use Howard.
Jokic 2023 Playoffs EASILY 1 of GOAT! #1 in ALL Playoffs in POINTS ASSISTS REBOUNDS (1st player EVER to have most POINTS ASSISTS REBOUNDS in single playoff! He’s undoubtedly Top5-25 somewhere in terms of what he’s done from 20-28 years old from an individual accomplishment stand point, statistically, playoff riser, analytically, all around game. It’s a TEAM game that’s why Jokic only had 1 WCF before 28 years old. He was still an awesome 26, 12, 6, 2stocks 52/40/82 in nearly 50 playoff games. Murray been hurt last 2 playoffs as was MPJ last year. They had no bench. Even this series they still could lose if KCP MPJ continue to shoot 20% from 3 instead of their normal 40% (they’re 5-26 so far from 3 or they’re up 3-0 if they are their normal 10-26 to 12-26 selfs!). MJ first 6 Playoffs was 24-29 in playoff games and never made a finals also. Was 0-5 vs Celtics Pistons even though he was mostly elite in playoffs. TEAMS win titles not individual players! If KCP MJP were their normal 10-26 to 12-26 from 3 selfs in Finals instead of horrid 5-26 Nuggets up 3-0 right now! Those 2 still need to step up bc if they keep shooting that bad they can def lose 2-3 more games unless Miami super cold also from 3 which you can’t count on.

I love how that these guys are in the third game of the NBA finals and they’re just realizing that the Nuggets are a championship caliber team. It’s laughable that these guys collect a paycheck. The Nuggets and Jokić are shattering NBA records that have been held for decades, both in the post season and the regular season. The blood sweat and tears endured for the two season’s absence during Jamal’s recovery was just a minor delay in the over all realized greatness that this franchise has invested in. It's almost as if people are taking what Jokic is doing for granted. The argument is, well he is so consistent that, 'ya we expect him to do that every game' but really Murray is more important. That's ridiculous. So let's flip it. So what would Denver be if Murray played like he does, and Jokic doesn't? I mean the idea that because Jokic is so consistent and Murray is not, that Murray is more important, is just wrong. JJ said, oh with Jokic and no Murray they are a playoff team, but with Murray they are a championship team. Um k. Well with Murray and no Jokic can be argued they may not even make the playoffs, or may be a low seed -- since players like him dont usually lead teams -- he is a solid 2. So with Jokic he not only makes them a good playoff team, but a champion team. SO basically you are penalizing Jokic by saying because he is so consistent, and the others are not, other players are more important. I get what they are trying to say, but nah, it's flipped.
Nobody is claiming that Jokic wasn't the best player in this game. The argument is that Murray's performance had a bigger swing on the outcome on the game because he doesn't play this well every night. Here's a thought experiment to illustrate my point: If I told you that Jokic had a 30pt triple double in game 4 (with no other information), what would you guess the nuggets win probability is? What would you guess if I told you that Murray had a 30pt triple double? If Murray plays well, the nuggets are almost sure to win, so in that sense, his performance is the most "important". But in fairness that word is pretty vague in basketball, so I understand what you mean.
I have only watched the high lights. Not into NBA now that the greats are gone. However, it's difficult for me to believe that the Heat's coach didn't devise a plan to minimize that Nugget center? I know that he can't be completely contained, but even Phil Jackson had an approach to Shaq and it worked- Hacka Shaq. Sure Shaq still scored, but, overall, it was insubstantial and ineffective to overcome the Bulls.
"When you can limit Jamal Murray, that gives you the best chance to win"... ok... What happens if you limit Jokic? lol It's more like you need to limit Murray since you have almost no chance of limiting Jokic. "The play of Jokic, that makes you a playoff team, but the play of Murray makes you a championship team"... ok... If you remove the play of Jokic, are you still a championship team? Are you even a top 3 conference team for that matter?
Murray’s is more important in any game. Jokic will get you his numbers most nights but he needs Murray and a couple other guys to scramble some points and number together for them to win.
Let me remind you before the acl tear there was a playoff Murray too 💯amd notnto mention mike Malone figured out how to attack that double team on Murray as well and he was feasting on it
Yokic plays like he's on a portable goal in the front yard. You know when you bring the goal down to 8 1/2 feet and play your little brother. His shot judgment and touch is nutz
Murrays triple double was more important in my opinion cause Jokic had a 41 in game 2 but they still lost by 3 , Jokic had a better night overall but Murrays performance in game 3 gave them what they needed in game 2
This is ridiculous. Why even have this discussion? It's a team, and it's obvious the Nuggets aren't going to win a championship without either one of these guys. That said, they go further with Jokic. He's the straw that stirs the drink.
Everyone jumped on the Heat Nots smh they got Hot and Lucky at the same time being saying all year Nuggets better than every team in the league if you watched all season you know
They are trying hard to devalue Jokic's effort? Come on let us try to switch it, if Jokic was out for two seasons Murray is playing will Denver be a playoff team?I don't think so. This is not a knock on Murray but Jokic is unbelievably ahead. It is similar to the Giannis/Middleton conversation two years back in the NBA finals
Idk man I feel like Jokic is the guy that runs the whole show. If Murray is off as long as Jokic has at least ONE teammate get him to 10+ that’s where the Nuggets are nearly invincible. Jokic getting his guys involved are really where that team is scary because there’s nothing you can do to stop them.

The point is you can count on Jokic's triple double but Murray's is extra
The only way Miami wins is if Murray goes ghost and Jokic starts shooting bad
Wow. Reddick is actually GREAT with his breakdowns. 👍🏽
he should coach someday
Absolutely. Without Murray the Nuggets get packed up in the playoffs. With Murray, 2020 WCF, this year the Finals. Jokic has been phenomenal but glad someone is highlighting the obvious difference maker
@@toolegit7668 he is the help jokic needed
10 triple doubles in the playoffs is insane
Jokic understand the Team sport game in Basketball. He makes everyone around him play better and win.
Plus team chemistry will be a bit off and it’s too risky to do that now
Perfect crew for this show.
Just think about the fact that he played pretty much the same like this throughout his playoff career, but until this playoffs he was regarded as a borderline choker and someone that you can't win with. The media influence is amazing.
Lol like people don’t realize he’s never had a bad playoff series. Sure it wasn’t historic like it is now but it was by no means awful
He was terrible defensively though. Props to Mike Malone for improving the team defense to help hide Jokic defensive limitations.
he is not terrible on defense for 3 years now.He is actually borderline great defender. Great at anticipations and pushing centers out of their positions, lead the league in contested shots last year and also other players have a very low fg% when guarded by Jokic.
@@Samito07 Steph Curry ain't no defensive prodigy either, but because the Warriors were a dynasty who had great defense, which hid him, he is now considered borderline top 10 player ever or the greatest pg ever.
@@dusan2001 I don't get your point, all I am saying is Jokic being exposed defensively did not help when his team was being knocked out of the playoffs. And Curry is not as tall and as big as Jokic, at least his size can be excused.
jokic may not be as athletic as others, but he has great fundamentals and an excellent basketball iq.
a great pleasure to watch. Michael Malone on Jokic and Murray: "A lot of guys play with each other. Those two guys play for each other."

So, the Heat haven't "solved" the Nuggets then? I think I saw that headline just yesterday.

Denver is the #1 Seed, they handled Phnx, they Swept L.A and they have the best duo and best player. Why can't the media understand this?? 😭
remeber murray v donavin in the bubble that series went off Jamal became one o=f my fav players after that spin layup over the centre
He don’t give a fck,
Jokic doesn’t even care about awards. He would’ve played this way regardless of who got the MVP. To bad the voters are corrupt and gave it to Emflop
You are right, because Jokic didn't need the heat that would have come as distraction from media and fans, hating on him!
Emflop got clamped by 40 yo AL Horford 🤣🤣
I agree
The music cutting in and out randomly is so distracting.
This playoff run by jokic to me just boosts Howard’s stock because he was able to do a pretty good job against jokic in 2020. The lakers and heat could def use Howard.

26, 12, 9, 2stocks on insane 59/37/83, best analytics by far, best on/off by far!

Kendrick Perkins went into hiding mode after historic triple double from Joker.
Stephen A with the highest of praise for the nuggets. You never would have guessed he picked Miami to win game 3 right b4 the game.
It’s simple make one of them sprain their ankle go under them just like what happened in game 7 vs the Celtics lol
Was thinking the same when Malone was letting Murray play till the end yesterday. If one of them can’t finish the finals it’s gonna become very hot
@justindefav21editsgame 7 vs the sixers
Jay u right on this one
Murray’s is more important in any game. Jokic will get you his numbers most nights but he needs Murray and a couple other guys to scramble some points and number together for them to win.
The Heat should've played Highsmith to match Braun's energy off the bench
Where is Kendrick “ I STATED THE FACTS” Perkins?

It aint over yet.
As long as Steven A. Smarty Pants is on this program, I can't understand why anyone can bare to watch it.
Yokic plays like he's on a portable goal in the front yard. You know when you bring the goal down to 8 1/2 feet and play your little brother. His shot judgment and touch is nutz
Bam must body up early. Show on the ball screen. Much too passive. Not playing D or hustling back on D like an All-Star.
At 7:34 he says Christian Braun is 6'4". Braun is 6'6". So much for the "experts."
Murrays triple double was more important in my opinion cause Jokic had a 41 in game 2 but they still lost by 3 , Jokic had a better night overall but Murrays performance in game 3 gave them what they needed in game 2
Somebody better recruit Dwight Howard to help guard Jokic. These teams better recruit some strong bigs
This is ridiculous. Why even have this discussion? It's a team, and it's obvious the Nuggets aren't going to win a championship without either one of these guys. That said, they go further with Jokic. He's the straw that stirs the drink.
