I watched the 97 one....and I needed more. Takes me back to being a kid. This technology back then seriously impressed me, not only this, but as a whole. I've watched it happen lol. So these videos bring me back
I have a lot of memories playing Jumping Flash on my dad's PlayStation. To this day I can't fathom why he had it, he wasn't exactly a Japanese game enthusiast and the vast majority of his other games were titles like Tomb Raider, Time Crisis, Crash Bandicoot, you get the idea. Can't help but be glad, though, it was and still is so unique. Imagine a PS5 Remake! 😆
Dude you make some of the best video game related videos, I hope your channel gets the recognition it deserves. Oh, and cover a game called trap runner for me!
Thank you! I appreciate that. I just now learned that Trap Runner is the European name of Trap Gunner. That’s a game I’ve been thinking of covering in one of my mini-reviews.
I loved Juming Flash 1+2 and I think they both are still the best '3D' feeling games ever! No other game ever came close to making use of the third dimension.
For sure. They haven’t really been imitated much, so they still feel unique to this day. I kinda feel the series would be cool as a VR game if it ever came back.
The second video Im watching from you and now I have to go play Rayman and Loaded. I think I have ReLoaded somewhere... I still have my copy of Tekken! My brothers friend gave it to me when I got my PS1 in Dec of '97. Also Im finding my self shouting out various exclamations and agreeing/replying to you lol. I might be going crazy with nostalgia here. Like in the opening, I agreed when you said you love these games lol.
Destruction Derby was my first PS1 game, and I literally played that for half a day straight nonstop…. Then….. DOOM Custom PlayStation Edition came along and EASILY took the top seat for me as best game of the early years of the PS1. Of the games on this list, I had the most enjoyable experience with Air Combat, followed closely by Warhawk, then Loaded (omg that soundtrack) Another title that was suuuuuper fun was Kileak: The DNA Imperative, which had some of the best music of any game from ‘95, and was a sexy FPS until Doom came along🔥
Fun Fact: Ridge Racer for the original PlayStation has 13 selectable cars. You have to beat the Galaxian mini game during the initial loading screen for 12 cars. The 13th is the mythical black car is unlocked after you beat all race modes. Then you go to the time trial mode and you will be facing two rivals instead of one. Beat that for the black car. Addendum- Loaded over Twisted Metal...no way man.
While I think Twisted Metal 2 holds up fairly well, the first just didn’t seem to play quite as smoothly. I initially imagined it would be a shoo-in, but after playing it I simply felt it didn’t age well enough to make the list.
I was 11 in ‘95 and got the PlayStation for Christmas that year. Wanted a Saturn more, but since PS was $100 cheaper I went with that so I could get a game with it as well. If I was in Japan or an importer I’d have been good with the Saturn, but since I was a kid in the US I think I made the better choice. Love Loaded and Jumping Flash. I remember I was jaw dropped with Jumping Flash’s graphics. I mean it really felt like I was controlling an animated movie at the time lol. And Loaded might be the bloodiest PS game, pixel for pixel haha. Probably not 11 year old material but my dad and I got a kick out of it.
I love Twisted Metal 2, but had a few issues with the first when looking at it for this video. Still, I might redo these lists some day, at which point that’s one I definitely would want to take another look at.
Warhawk: That canyon level still looks great. And I don't know how it got an E rating, if you got killed while in the cockpit view, blood would splatter all over the windshield.
Hard to believe some of these were the top selling games in 95. This list missed quite few great games! Like… Twisted Metal Destruction Derby Mortal Combat Soul Edge Time Crisis Front Mission Command an Conquer Just to name a few I bought the PS1 when it released. Unlike my 3DO, PlayStation had their stuff together AND GAMES TO BUY!
Those are some good games, though a lot of them came out in ‘96 or later. Also, this is a ranking of best games, not best selling. Sorry for the confusion. And yeah, PS1 was definitely better than 3DO, though I do think that’s an interesting system with some fun titles that are worth playing. That’s cool you had one back in the day. I never got one until way after the fact.
@@LegendOfGames I was alive when the console released lol I remember. I specifically remember it being 99 when I got a PlayStation, because my 2 soon to be step bros had one and me and my bro had N64. We felt like such ballers having both consoles. And super ballers when we had PS2 Xbox and GameCube all in the same house. My dumbass real bro got the Dreamcast lol
@The Legend of Games 8:12 you are wrong. There are actually 12 cars in total you can drive. Guess you weren’t good enough in the opening load screen to unlock the additional 8 cars.
@@LegendOfGames knew it was something like that. It started playing and I instantly went into childhood flashbacks of the good times.. thank you for that.. your videos are great and excited to see more I subscribed
Nekketsu Oyako, or Hot-Blooded Family as it’s unofficially known in English. I actually made a video covering it: ua-cam.com/video/tRoFHN0P49I/v-deo.html
Really astonishing to reflect on the fact that the PS came out in 1994.
I watched the 97 one....and I needed more. Takes me back to being a kid. This technology back then seriously impressed me, not only this, but as a whole. I've watched it happen lol. So these videos bring me back

I was thinking about that too when I was playing the game. It would be awesome to see what could be done with the series with current gen tech.

Great video! This channel deserves much more views.
Thank you!
Luckily the views have been picking up a bit lately.
Wipeout has to be my favorite from 1995. Although, I haven't played some of the games on your list yet.
If this is your FIRST video, you're off to a damn great start.

Love this man
the guy who did loaded's soundtrack is Neil Biggin. he has commented on my remixes of his music on soundcloud. very nice guy.
That’s very cool of him. I love to hear stories like that
"She's always pissed!" Even funnier because she's like 13 years old.

I have this entire list in my original PS1 library still

I think going for the PS1 over the Saturn was definitely the right choice in the long run.
Warhawk is one of my favorite games of ALL time!
I'd actually never played it before making the list. It seriously blew past my expectations and I thought it was awesome.
LOADED and RE LOADED was the best when i was a kid so much mindless fun plus the later staged were quite challenging.
Love Jumping Flash FOREVER!!!! I love Rayman too but the difficulty is the downfall sometimes. Great video.
I loved me some Jumping Flash, but probably would have put Twisted Metal above it.
I love Twisted Metal 2, but had a few issues with the first when looking at it for this video. Still, I might redo these lists some day, at which point that’s one I definitely would want to take another look at.
6:22 LMAO!!! THAT DUDES FACE. Omfg I'm rolling
lol yeah, those old CGI cutscenes can be pretty over-the-top.
Warhawk: That canyon level still looks great. And I don't know how it got an E rating, if you got killed while in the cockpit view, blood would splatter all over the windshield.
I love Destruction Derby. So that would be my top pick for sure.

Mortal Combat

You can totally tell this was launch year based on the games on this list lol
Yeah, there wasn’t a lot to pick from haha
The ones high up in the list I’d say are definitely classics, though.

Loaded just looks like hot line miami for ps1
I never thought of that, but that’s true.

I’m aware, and I actually mention this in my PS1 Launch Games video.

Also, my mom played the crap outta rayman, I loved it as a kid. Hard but I have awesome memories of it.
I also have a lot of great memories of that game. If you had the 100% password it made up for the difficulty a bit.
Rayman rules!
Ray Man really does have beautiful graphics. Did you have all these games when you were a kid?
I had three of them: Rayman, Tekken and Air Combat.
Where is Gex
In the Media Dimension
