Pillbug is a great addition to the game. My wife and I and our adult kids play this game a lot when on holidays and xmas time. In fact its the only game we have played for the past 5 years or so. Chess is just too hard. Pillbug took a while to get used to but now I couldn't play without it. Putting the mosquito beside it makes them lethal together. Its a very sneaky piece, you can rescue your Queen when its in trouble and it can make surprise attacks. To defend against it its best to just put a Beetle on it asap. I hope John develops another piece soon.
Remains such a great addition. Thank you for watching and commenting! Please consider subscribing if you haven’t already and I hope you have a great day!
@@tylermaitland8767 he said in an interview that he wont make anymore additions, that the pillbug was the last piece to make the game Hive complete. I also think he is right in that statement. There are many fan based ideas of new bugs to come, but i dont think it would make the game any better. What are your thoughts?
@staleholenfossum1527 was the pillbug added to balance out the game after the mosquito was introduced? In other words, If I'm going to play with the pill bug then playin with the whole set Is a must?
I love carbon, but i cant fint the pillbug in carbon. it messes up my game a bit actually, but i have it in the collection now. I am so looking for the carbon pillbugs!
Hive carbon looks menacing, and hive normal has no bag. You do want pocket hive. The orange bag is very poor quality though. My gf hates mosquitos so it wasn't a success. Be sure though to get the ENGLISH manual. The manual is a joy to behold, and unfortunately this one was in german.
Hive carbon is traditional. I love it. I bought my nephew the pocket version. Its neat but doesn't allow for building a sturdy hive with the pieces being so small and light. Mosquitos are ok. Its good to have on stand by incase you want to switch the game a little. Fortunately I bought the English version.
How can something so simple, with few pieces and simple rules be so challenging and fun?
It’s amazing right? It is so fantastic.
@@HowLouSeesIt Go also has simple rules and simple pieces...
Kosteri x Go is also fantastic. I’m not very good at Go yet, but I’m learning it and enjoying it a lot.
@@HowLouSeesIt we quit. It was too scary for both of us.

@@Doggmatic_ In my opinion, and what i think Yianni meant, yes-
If only they came out with Hive Pocket Carbon…that would be their biggest seller.
Seriously - that would be awesome.
Thanks for the shout out. Go Carbon edition! Great game and great vid.
No problem 👍

If your pillbug moves your own queen bee away from danger for example, can your queen bee move the next turn?
Good question. No, you can’t move your queen bee your next turn. You would have to wait until the following turn after that.
Hello from Brazil. Thank you for the explanation. I had removed it from the game because I didn't understand how it worked.
You are welcome! I hope it helped. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Is there Pillbug for carbon version?
Yes! There is!
@@HowLouSeesIt but so hard to find!

Hive 'normal' does and should always be sold with a bag. If you find it without a bag, beware you could be buying a fake copy.
Unless you are talking about the original wooden Hive.

All the versions I think have their place. 🤓
@@HowLouSeesIt I disagree.
I love the channels that get such a small amount of comments people can answer questions
Edit: btw how many subs you got?
Thanks Melissa! I have over 100 subscribers currently and over 500 Twitter followers.
Does this replace a gamepiece or do you now play with 14 each?
imbadwrench it does not replace a piece but is added to the others.
thank you, i just ordered the game and that expansion.
Can the Pillbug move the Queen?
Yes it can. As long as it meets the other requirements.
Sold separately.
