I was waiting for her dish to flop, but I must say the critiquing was not done in a distasteful manner as most who can not cook at all. Very classy group of ladies 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

@@naturallyfree376 I agree with you there. Trinidad gets a lot of attention. Not as much as Jamaica but, still a lot. I would consider the smaller islands as St. Lucia, St. Vincent, etc.

@Chocolate J it's staged guys that part I was finished and the producer was speaking to me I pushed the plate to her but they filmed these parts to create a villain am not, just honest.
@S F I didn't push the plate I handed it to the producer who was in the direction of where I pushed it.

I'm glad she won, she wasn't a harsh critic, she was kind and she can cook good by the other reviews. Thyme in curry can give it a more aromatic taste, nice.

@@lafeshiarhoden5558 It is similar to paratha or dhal puri (dhal puri was served with Janelle’s dish). Buss up shut is an extremely flat, soft and flaky bread that is beaten with a long wooden spatula near the end of its preparation. This process makes the bread easy to shred or tear apart its layers to enjoy your curry dish. In Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 it’s called Buss up shut…….some folks also call it buss up shut skin or roti skin

As a Trinidadian myself, to me Janelle could of won by a mile if she didn't make two clear mistakes, using chicken breast and not have any curry sauce, cuz when I first saw it, I was like yep that's dry, and ontop of being dry she serve it with roti skin and I was scared someone was gonna choke 😅😂😂😂
I love how "curry" is different wherever you go it's like every country has a curry but it's not the same thing but it will be absolutely delicious each 👏and 👏every👏time!👏

All these ladies were polite when testing the others' curry. And all the curries looked delicious. A favorite dish.
This video reminded me of a lady I used to work with who was from Trinidad. She would always bring me curry chicken when she made it for her family. Best meal ever and gorgeous accent.

I am from a curry culture. I NEED to travel to Trinidad and try this take on curry.
I didn’t realize Trinidad had influences from India…. Hearing them say jeera seeds and aloo was surprising to me as they’re Hindi words…. Very interesting!
Our Population is mostly East Indian
After slavery ended, Indians were brought in as indentured laborers. Trinidad is very mixed with all kinds of people but majory are Indian and African decent
3/4 of their cuisines is just a copy of ours.

I’m Guyanese & Jamaican, it’s so funny because my Guyanese family say curry chicken 😂😂 Some Guyanese probably say chicken curry because of the Indian backgrounds. Every Indian I know says chicken curry so 😅🤷🏾♀️ Funny enough, the curry itself is definitely different !
