    I inherited one of those and planned to use it to keep my greenhouse frost free. After an hour of agony I found your video and now it works perfect.

    Thanks for this. Excellent video. I'm not sure I'd have understood the instruction manual without viewing this video first and I have referred back to this video on several occasions over the past couple of years since first purchasing my Inkbird - I have it on my settings from previous so it's rare enough that I need to tinker with it, so when I do I'm back watching this again.
    (Note: if you are a first-timer just wanting to get started with the Inkbird, probably best to not bother reading the following paragraph. Just follow Mr. Miller's instructions in the video. Also, I'm a BIAB brewer with fairly basic equipment just in case this is relevant to the below.)
    One item not covered is the TR=2 mode. This (from my understanding having attempted to read the instruction manual) differs from TR=1 mode in that in the TR=2 mode the Inkbird will start the timer for the next stage only once the temperature for that next stage has been reached. In other words, the timer stops during the period it takes to heat up the medium (e.g. mash/wort/beer) from one stage to the next. So, for example, if you were to set the units to minutes and use the TR=2 mode, you could in theory do an automatic stepped temperature mash (or of course a simpler single temperature mash). You'd still have to return to give the mash the odd stir though, so for someone attempting to do an automated mash overnight that is complete for the next morning ready for the boil there is still this particular issue to resolve. Also, it's a bit more complicated but not impossible if you are using a pump to circulate / sparge during the mashing process.

      Sorry, I should also mention that you'd need a thermowell for the Inkbird probe if using for the mash.

    I spent the whole day reading the instructions without understanding. I spent 17min watching your video and understood perfectly everything you said.
    The tips at the end are really helpful, good ideas !
    I read again the instructions after watching your tutorial and everything was (finally) clear, thanks a lot !

    Thanks for the instructions and tips. The manual does leave a lot to be desired. I'm not a brewer though. I'm experimenting with melting and then tempering , great tasting, non-melting at room temperature, healthy, true sugar free chocolate for my wife to encourage her "Keto" diet and keep it from being so. . . diet-ie (for lack of a better term). Tempering machines are really expensive andwhile I have gotten satisfactory results using the stove with pots and double broilers in several combinations, controlling the temperature that way is a royal pain (absolute lowest setting is too hot) and really time consuming. So, I got a Little Dipper Crock Pot at a yard sale and the 306T on eBay. That should take away most of the "hovering" required on the stove top. Thanks again!

    I was using the older model INKBIRD, the 310T, which was perfect for indoor growers like me who only need two cycles in every 24 hour period i.e. lights on and lights off, but the 310T-B has me a little stumped with it's added features. Basically I want to know how to turn-off or bypass the periods of time that are not counted by the 310T-B because the temperature isn't bang-on.... Any help will be much appreciated, Steve... Thanks in advance....

      I think you need to look at the “TR” setting. Based on what you said you wanted I think you want to set it to 2 instead of the 1 I recommend. Try it out and let me know if that is what you are looking for. Cheers!

      You should be able to just set the cooling temp so high that it never comes on. Set your heating differential to 3 degrees and you should be all set.

    How do I set day/ night temps

    • @janpcs
      @janpcs 3 роки тому

      The unit doesn't have a clock that knows the actual time of the day. You can't tell it to start cooling at 19:00 and to start heating at 09:00. You start the unit at 19:00 and tell it to start cooling for 14 hours and then start heating for 10. For more details see my reply to Atilla Horvath.

    hello. I still don't understand something. I hope you know the answer. What i want from this device is having two different settings in one day. Actually every days. Like at day time (from 8am) till 21pm in need something like 19-21 celsius and in the night time so 21pm-8am i want to have temp 13-15 celsius. By the timer settings, is that possible to set up such a parameters? Thank You :)

    • @janpcs
      @janpcs 3 роки тому +1

      Only when you change the setting under Tr to 1 (continuous), Ut to hours, nd to the number of cycles (days) you want and Sta to 2 (steps) and start the unit exactly at 8 am with the daytime settings and under SSt 1 temp 20 Celsius H01 to 13 hours and stage 2 temp 14 Celsius, H02 to 11 hours. Correct me if I'm wrong mr. Miller.

      Sorry just saw your question. I think you should be able to switch over to measuring time in hours, set the number of hours at each temperature and set it to repeat daily.

      Then maybe you should try to find another channel or put some hours in and figure it out yourself. It's his channel and he gets to decide the format of his content.
