      No trouble at all man, these work well - like we were saying via chat though, have heard instances of people having issues with them which makes me nervous though! Always have two things keeping temperature in check I think ;)

    I have the older model and love it. Alarm for peace of mind and I have it set so the temperature is always within 0.5 degree C and the alarm will go off if 1 degree C out.
    New one looks great!

    Sam I'm heading to Cairns to live in the next few months so I'll need one of those. I'm going to set up a 72"x30"x30" from scratch once I find somewhere to live. I sold my house so I've got a few bob to spend on a new reef tank. I enjoy your reefing tips!

    Hi Sam, just connected the Inkbird ITC 306A. Just have a couple of questions - what is the 2nd reading below the current temp reading on the unit? Also, what does “Continuous Heating Time” mean on the app? What is the recommended setting for that?

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  Рік тому

      temp reading below should be the current set temperature. Top reading is the actual temp from memory. Continuous heating time means you can set an alarm should your heaters remain switched on for too long (which would indicate some sort of problem). It is a fail safe should your temp probe come out of the tank and your heaters remain switched on :)

    Hey Sam, I bought the ITC - 308 a few months ago, whilst it does work it’s all over the place, one minute it’s at 25.5 then it will drop to 24.8 as your looking at it. So I’ve gone back to my old controller like yours. I hope you have better luck with yours.

      is your 308's probe fully plastic? IIRC 308 come with metal probes by default. if its metal .. not great but its worse if submerge the wire part in the water - from my research while metal probes are usable their cable connector part must not get wet - once they do people get the problems you describe

    • @si8780
      @si8780 4 роки тому

      Martynas Stanaitis
      It came with a metal probe, I did contact inkbird re the issues and they sent me a replacement plastic probe at no cost, which was great service from them. It didn’t really make any difference, the new model still has the same issue as above but not as bad.

  • @ramsrime72

    I got this controller to control my back up heater in my DT and the heater in my quarantine tank. When I clean out my QT the replaced water is outside the 5 degree range that triggers the E4 error message every time. do I have the wrong product to control my back up independently from the heater in my QT? the E4 message indicates there is more than a 5 degree difference between the 2 probes and that is common when I do water changes. I was under the impression you could control 2 heaters with the ITC 306A. Am I wrong? How can you control the temps of 2 separate tanks with the 2 probes this controller comes with?

    Love the video's & content,
    I am looking at purchasing either the ITC-306T-A & ITC-308S, I like the wifi feature of the 306 however wish to use the cooling option.
    Just wondering if you are able to put a fan in the 306 model and by configuring the temp setting make the 2nd outlet turn the fan on off?

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  4 роки тому +1

      Hey mate. With the 306, both outlets are wired together. If you want to control a heater and a fan with that unit you’d want a WiFi power socket that you can have the 306 signal to switch on and off.
      Personally, I liked the simpleness of the 308 - set and forget :)
