Two year old video but still super relevant, and helpful! Switched from high protein to the “Starch Solution” plan a few days ago. Got on the scale this morning: saw I had gained 2 pounds and wanted to cry. This video made me feel so much better…… potatoes, and veggies for lunch again today for the win…..
2 pounds? I was also low carb/high protein and weighing myself on day 3 I had gained 8.5lbs!!!! And Ive been counting calories so Its not like ive been eating 20k kcal extra.

Thank you again Emmie for another informative vid! it's so true, the weight loss doesn't happen quick...its happens later and that's what I had to learn. All of the sudden my jeans were saggy and shirts were getting looser. So yes, stick to the system everyone, it works!

I started learning about the starch solution because I was having issues with my pancreas and needed to eliminate fats from my diet. I started watching high carb Hannah because I figured (based on her name) that I could get some ideas on how to eat a low fat diet. Her videos led me to yours and I’ve been following for a couple weeks now and honestly? I feel incredible! Literally so incredible that I’ve stopped caring about the scale. The sole benefit of actually being satiated while eating clean is enough for me. I have more energy and am the least hungry I’ve ever been and my cravings have disappeared. I’m so grateful for your content!
Love the hair! I got my order of Hawaiian sweet potatoes today and immediately cooked some in the pressure cooker. I’d never had them before, and they are so good! Thanks for the suggestion.
Did you go to school to be a nutritionist? I want to do what you’re doing on a local level here in my community. Do you have any advice on schooling? I was thinking about doing T. Colin Campbell’s plant based certification. Love all your videos!! ♥️
This is so amazing! I noticed the excess water gain because Dr. Fuhrman wrote in his book that potatoes and grains should be kept to a minimum for weightloss. So using a mix of both diets I lost 30lbs. When i wanted to weigh myself I would eat alot of veggies and only lentil two days before. Idk if it's because lentils have more fiber or what it is but they are great for emptying your stomach and letting go of all that water. What I tell my sister over and over is that she's not gaining weight, she is actually losing weight but starches just stay in the stomach more time and cause water retention. She started to eat only veggies and lentil and immediately noticed the drop in weight.
Do you eat potatoes or rice, or just veggies with lentils? I've been doing this and on track for 2 solid weeks but today I am up 2.6 pounds after losing 5 over the last 2 weeks
Another awesome video Emmie and because the letter T is in the word Teacher it shouldn't be surprising that's Emmie's and other teachers favourite letter is T. My favourite letters probably are F for Flowers, G because I am a Gardener and P for Plants then V because for Veganism. Love 🥰 this informative and interesting video and love 💞 Emmie.

Try the Nutritarian diet. I did it for hormone reasons and ended up losing 10 lbs. anyway.
