Hiya Helen. Thanks for all your videos. Not sure if you’re aware, e.v olive oil is not recommended for (stir frying) cooking with as it is considered carcinogenic above 180c (not sure what that is in F). You can use a regular olive oil instead and save your e.v.o for dressings and garnishing instead. Just a suggestion.
Thanks again. You make me hungry!! 😂

What cut of meat do you use? Is there any special preparation other than cutting it very thin?

@@ModernPepper I must have missed it when I watched the video. Thank you for the link. I look forward to trying it. Attempting to make japchae has always been a bit intimidating for me.

This is so much easier than the recipe I've been using! It has at least 3 different marinades depending on the ingredient. It does bring a bunch of different flavors together, but this will be a game changer for me!
I adore japchae and thankfully one locally owned grocery store sometimes has the noodles. We stock up anytime we see them!

I like that you are introducing Korean culture to people whenever you are making a dish. Thank you👏👏👏

But isn't the traditional is boil it first and then wash it in running water?

There are many ways to make JapChae. I have another JapChae recipe coming, quick stir-fry version that includes boiling the noodles first.

Really happy with your recipe. So far all the recipes I tested were slightly sweet. I don't like that. 감사합니다 for sharing.

👋산드라 님 감사합니다. I agree with you that many recipes do make the authentic Korean dishes a bit too sweet, in my opinion. I just want to share with everyone how my family make and enjoy our Korean dishes, not sweet.

I don’t think that’s how BTS makes it. Just kidding. I’m sure they cut corners😂😂

      🤣
BTS is an empire with so many products in their arsenal of marketing strategies. They sell coffee, makeup, recipe books, and the list goes on and on. I’m very proud of their global influence and successes💚🇰🇷
As for BTS’s JapChae, I have not read their specific recipe, but I’m sure it is delicious!
In general, JapChae is made in many variations and methods. Some r on the oily side, dry side, and/or wet with more broth drenched noodles. Also, depends on if it is made quick and simple version or gourmet. Or a casual version using just a few ingredients or traditional with all the fixings.
