  • Lifting anchor at 3am in wild winds & swell sounds like a great idea right? Is it a good thing to follow the crowd or trust your own instincts? As we watch multiple boats take off into the night we decide that we will join them to get a start on what will be a rough day at sea. Luckily, we now have starlink and it's "meant" to only be between 20-25kn.... They got it wrong....

The camera never does the wave height justice hey! How the boys are adapting to boat life so well in such a short time… what seasickness 💪 I really like how you show your lessons learned. Keep it up 👍

Well done guys! That was an excellent vid and some of the best wave portrayal I’ve seen. They looked big on the vid, so they must have been huge in reality. :) I’m very glad you all coped well and that the boat handled the conditions with such grace. One day we want to follow your excellent example but can’t just yet. Thanks so much for sharing all this. Fair winds and following seas to your intrepid family.

Thank you! Glad the footage shows the size! It looks like nothing compared to the actual day! The boat handled it like a boss!

We didn't catch any of the massive sets - but it doesn't look anywhere near as bad in the videos....

Once it was proper daylight it all got better! Sometimes my sea sickness is a bit anxiety related!

Wow what a video ❤ yep December Xmas Eve was our first Super cell we couldn't see our mooring it was crazy. I was in the tinny pretty much crying, I was drenched for an hour or more, it was going higher then our boat rails and our other tinny was on the davits. It was a great test for our North trip 😊 how long did it take you guys to get to Tangalooma from Airlie? All depends on the weather ofcourse. We are heading off after April, still culling our farm life for the water world which nothing compares too. Let us know if you're around Bribie Island 🤙🥰 Jackson would love some mates to drive around with

That's really a "how long is a piece of string" question! We took about 4 weeks to head home, but you could do it much faster.
