I don't want this to devolve into anything related to name calling but, you do understand all of those sensors you turned off AND kept on use infrared light right? The same infrared lights that's everywhere in the world but can't see because it's not in the visible light spectrum. Those sensors had a 0.000000001% chance of causing the wrist pain and I am willing to bet it's the activities you wear your watch for like biking that are contributing to the pain. Do an experiment where you turn all the sensors on and stop doing any physical activity that can cause strain to your wrist (like biking) and I am confident there will be no pain in your wrist.

Infrared light is so low in energy, it couldn't hurt you in any way. 0% chance. Your own body emits infrared all the time.
      TD;DR You are right.

After 15-20 years of not wearing any kind of watch, I got a series 5 when (that was the latest Apple Watch) and experienced pain in my whole lower left arm for a month or so. After that it disappeared and and has never come back. I tried it on my right (dominant) arm too, for comparison, and experienced no problems.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Had pain from Garmin fitness tracker and Fitbit too. I’m curious if the sensor is causing the pain, and I’d like to understand how and why it might be happening. Some people maybe more sensitive?

Also no pain at all from wearing a regular watch..

@@TeakVordtBoat Same here. Normal watches no issue. I think some people are sensitive and some are not. When I injure myself I know it. This thing I had with the apple watch just developed outside any activity that I was doing. It is weird and shouldn’t happen according to science but we have learned about many things that happen that were unexpected. I wish I could tell you why. All I can say is turning off sensors made a difference for me.

My hand hurts when I put it on. It felt weird from the beginning. I wanted the watch to monitor my sitting daily. I wished I could take it back but it's too late for return. :(

Are you wearing the watch too tight? This is known to have caused carpal tunnel syndrome to some people.
