I had the exact same revelation. I traded in my Ultra 1 for the Series 10 thinking the screen size and fast charging would eliminate advantage of the Ultra. I was wrong. The watch felt small on my wrist and felt like a kids watch? I took back the series 10 on Sunday and bought a black Ultra 2 and I love it. It feels like home. I missed the watch faces, the action button, and longer battery life. And I think it just looks more substantial and masculine on my wrist. I’m ultra for life now.
Now go back and change to apple watch ultra 2 hermes edition

Was going back and forth for days on upgraded my SE to the Ultra 2 or 10. I had the 10 in my shopping cart, thought on it for a bit, watched a few more videos, and ultimately switched to the ultra 2. It’s just a better watch all around, so I agree!
Let’s put it another way, the Series 9 Stainless Steel was not in the same class as the Ultra 2. The 10 is now close, but for many the Ultra 2 is the better watch -- assuming the form factor works.

Finally upgraded to the ultra 2 but I went with the natural finish after seeing pictures of the shockingly easily scratched black version and how horrible it looks with scratches.
Battery life on my series 8 was the nail in the coffin. It's just terrible now.

I bought series 10 46mm. ultra 2 is too bulky for my wrist. the ten is so thin I don't know I'm wearing it. Great video

I feel like if you wanted to upgrade a watch and you don’t have the funds to buy the ultra the series 10 would be a good option.
Has your Jet Black watch scratched easily like the iPhone 7? Really on the fence getting Jet Black as a first choice or Silver as a second choice if the black scratches as easily.

I stayed with the Ultra 2 because of the new color, battery life, action button and the durability. Mainly the color though, I’m losing the blood oxygen ability but I never really used it anyway. Besides, I have a dedicated one if I really need to take a reading. Apple will more than likely redesign the Ultra next year and I’m sure I’ll get it too. The Ultra is definitely more suited for an active lifestyle versus the 10. I still wish they could extend battery life to at least a week though. But I think they’ll probably just find a faster way to charge it like they did the 10.
Thanks for the video. The series 10 might have a bigger display but I have noticed that the flat display of the Ultra 2 seems to have a sharper and more crisp display. The somewhat rolled off display of the series 10 in all of the videos I have seen, including yours, the display in the series X appears to be not as sharp and crisp? Also, I just purchased the all black Ultra 2, and with a black band it is amazing how this color makes the watch look less bulky and thinner.

Sooo... I have a Series 6 Cellular that I bought shortly after launch, so 4 years old now. This summer, I have had to disable the Always On Display and turn off the cellular data to get all-day battery life (86% Batt Health) but still rocking all the sensor functions, including Blood O2. If you commute to work, this is the time to charge your watch! 20-30 mins in the car (or on the train, or your private jet, you do you!), even with the standard S6 slow charger, is enough to keep it rocking through workouts and sleep tracking.
I am not sure if you are aware. You can sync and use 2 or more watches to the iPhone and the data synchronize between watches so you don’t lose fitness/wellness data. I have the ultra for when doing outdoors, workout, or doing manual stuff and when charging the other. I use the second when going out and when charging the Ultra. Keep both.
The Ultra 2 is honestly too big for my 160cm wrist BUT I just LOVE the battery life on it. If there's only a 42/43mm option for the Ultra line...

I believe you should get AppleCare. I’ve had a scratched lens and a failed battery. AC is a cheap insurance policy to keep the watch in tiptop shape.
Is it possible for apple to update the blood oxygen sensor back on the new watches if the whole court case gets settled?

I switched from the Ultra 2 to the S10 and I honestly prefer it. The fact I charge it every night and can last a whole day on a charge is more than enough for me.
Had an SE and thought about getting the series 10 or buying someone’s used ultra 1…caved and bought the black ultra 2. Regret nothing 😭
Battery life is a non issue if you keep two Apple watches. When the battery gets low on one I switch to my second watch. The watches hand over all the information to the watch you are wearing seamlessly. I have been doing this for a couple of years now and it is a perfect solution to the iWatch short battery life. There is always a fully charged iWatch waiting for me.
I got the series 10 returned it got the ultra 2 the battery sucked on it
I'm upgrading from the Ultra 1 and was really stuck on the Series 10 or Ultra 2 (In black) ultimately it was the battery and the Modular Ultra faces that sway me. Of course here in the UK we get the blood oxygen sensors on all watches, even brand new ones. It's nice having a feature the US doesn't have, normally the other way around (Apple Card and Apple Cash looking at you)
I'm doing the exact same thing as you, keeping both! I didn't think I would. Ultra for work and 10 for everything else. I'm happy lol
I have and love the Blue aluminum 45mm Series 7. After seeing the Black Ultra 2, I preordered it as soon as it was made available.
I personally can't justify spending over $700 for a Titanium Series 10. For that kind of money, the Ultra 2 makes more sense. The extra battery life is also a big bonus.
I’m a fan of series 10, so I decided to trade in my Ultra 1 to get it in a jet black color. I’m tired of the Ultra 1; it’s amazing, no doubt about it, but it’s very heavy to wear most of the time.
For those with the ultra, is it uncomfortable to sleep in due to the extra bulk? I’m coming from a 7 and can’t decide between the 10 and the ultra 2. Thanks!

Keep your series 7 for sleep, and the Ultra for the day. That’s what I’m going to do with my series 7.

The Ultra 2 is still the best watch! No way I could go back to regular Apple Watch battery life.
I still have an Ultra 1st gen. My battery still gets me through 2.5 days before it needs to be charged. Slightly down from 3.5 days when I first bought it but still, it's pretty amazing battery life. The only thing I'm missing really is on-device Siri and the double-tap feature but I've never really thought of those as must-haves. Plus as a Canadian, I get to keep my Blood Oxygen monitor (even if I were to upgrade to the newer model). I also have a Series 7 Edition brushed Titanium space black watch which I wear if I ever need to sport a more classy look. But I have noticed that watch no longer gets a day of battery, it needs to be charged multiple times a day if I choose to wear it over the Ultra so I'm partially tempted to just trade that one in for a Series 10 Slate Titanium again for those classy times. Sometimes I attend work functions where the Ultra, even if paired with a fancier band, just doesn't look that great. But I'd say 95% of the time, I'm wearing my Ultra.
I like my Ultra better.

Apple makes billions of dollars so it seems a bit cheap of them to refuse to pay for the blood oxygen sensor.
I’m going to keep my series 7 for dress and for sleep tracking since it does have the blood oxygen on it, and get the Ultra for day and workout use. That way the battery on both should always be good. I hate how I have to charge my series 7 in the morning, at lunch, and then again right before sleep so I can wear it all night long.

The battery is why I upgraded my Series 5 to the Ultra 2 and did not do for S10.
I got jet black watch 10 with the sports loop on launch day and love it. One day later I got the slate Milanese!
I bought the ultra 2 but after a week I sent it back and got the S10. Loved ultra, but I found it too clunky and heavy for daily use and sport. I miss the build and battery but S10 is just a compromiss that works for me.
"I have more features on my year old Apple Watch than I do on a series 10 I bought like a week ago and that doesn't feel right" - Err what?! They're different models! So when Apple release a new iPad Air, is it "not right" that the older iPad Pro is still a better device? What wouldn't "feel right" is if the 10 was suddenly better than a year-old device that costs twice as much. Oh, and blood oxygen is only disabled in the US, the rest of us are fine thanks.
When I was buying my first Apple Watch, I went into my local apple store to try all the different colours, models and sizes. Expected to prefer a darker colour, but wasn’t sure of size. Ended up getting the Nike Series 7 41 in Starlight. Anything bigger/darker just looked wrong.

Maybe if you already have a Ultra watch and used to wearing a brick on your wrist all the time the series 10 won't seem to be better. As someone who updated from a series 7 41mm to a series 10 46mm I'm loving my series 10. It's so much easier to read and input on the screen. It charges faster than my old series 7 and when I put my watch on the charger for it's evening recharge it still have about 25% charge. So only thing the Ultra has that I wish my series 10 doesn't is the bigger battery so I'd only have to charge every other day. So if someone is coming from any of the other series watch I think they will be really happy with the series 10,
I watched your other video before making my decision as I was coming from an original Apple Watch Ultra. I was torn at the store because the gold titanium Watch 10 looked so good but I’m glad I decided to go with the Ultra 2 in satin black.
Somewhat like you though, I am considering eventually buying a Watch 10 in gold in addition to my Ultra simply because I love the aesthetics of that model.

I ordered my first apple watch ever being the watch series 10 natural titanium and milanese loop (which costs exactly the same as the ultra) watched a ton of videos and in the end all I was debating about was the battery life 18 vs 36 hrs
Ended up going for the series 10 because it's way more comfortable for sleeping, and I can just throw it in the charger while I shower and get ready every morning and is back to 100, also I just like the design way more, and the new screen and ticking second while always on display.
But it was a very tough choice and took me many days of thinking hahaha
U forgot about the gps and satellite features.
I want through this entire thought process as well. Just returned my S10.

complaining about the battery just don’t make sense. even using a apple 8 workout everyday using the fitness app a few hours it does not kill the battery. sleep tracking using the ultra just not uncomfortable.

I couldn’t decide so I kept my ultra 1 (since it’s not worth too much) and got a series 10 in slate titanium with the slate Milanese loop. The answer is both. lol
I think the 42mm is the perfect size for me, it was the one I used when the original Apple Watch came out and recently I’ve been using 40mm but that gets me nervous for future Apple Watches as if they increase the “smaller” watch to 44 in 3-4 years that’s gonna look too big on my wrists. Ironically I use the pro max iPhone 😂😂

No Brainer, the Ultra is the only AW to get. :) Bulky and large, and even if they did not update much this year the Black color itself is worth it. Who can say No to Black on the Ultra. :)
You are so funny! 😂 And I’m with you, I have the original Ultra (my first Apple Watch!) and I got the Series 10 in slate titanium last week. Once you go titanium you can’t go back! Lol However, I was shocked about the difference in battery life! The Ultra has definitely spoiled me on that department. Like you, I don’t regret the purchase and it is not a big deal to adapt to managing multiple watches. My plan is to use the Ultra for workouts and use my Series 10 daily use and dress it up with a nice band for the occasional formal event and whatnot. Cheers!
Battery doesn’t matter on ultra imo, ppl don’t leave their watch on their wrists 24/7. U gonna charge them daily anyways like the iPhones
i turn my apple watch off every night and charge it every 3 days. it’s a series 7, bought new, wear it every day religiously and still with 96% battery.. my secret is turn it off at bedtime. iphone battery’s have gotten so good, they last days on a single charge with moderate use.. at least for me

Don't trust everything this guy says it honestly depends for example the battery the ultra takes 60 min to charge but lasts almost 3 days which means it last longer its also alot stronger with it's sapphire screen and titanium base if you are into sports or not the apple watch ultra is still the better option in my opinion I have it and my sister has the s10 and we swapped once for a day and she preferred the ultra, so did I there is alot of things to take in consideration so please do your research everyone before thinking the series 10 is better than the ultra 2.

Number one reason for forgetting the ultra for me would be the sapphire crystal. Have owned high-end watches in the past. All of them had a sapphire crystal, which I never had issues with.
Now have Apple Watch 6 with O2 monitoring and will not purchase my next Apple Watch until that feature returns, and new health monitoring options. Talked about sapphire Crystal, which I do not have on my Apple Watch 6. What I do since having deep cuts in my previous Apple Watch face is use Smiling 2 Pack Case Built in Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
Just haven’t been a fan of the Ultra’s design from the start.Much prefer the normal series.I upgraded from a stainless steel Series 7 to the Titanium Series 10. Very happy with it.
