Zac Taylor's seat is cold as ice. going 9-8 even without Burrow for a lot of the season with a very limited backup like Browning is good. Short of going 0-17 with a healthy Burrow or getting arrested for some serious crime, I see no chance Zac Taylor gets fired in the next 5 years. 0.5/5
The only reason they even went 9-8 is because, for some reason, the Browns chose to show mercy and rest their starters. I understand why they did it, but I honestly wish they hadn't. I wanted to see the Browns blow out the Bengals just like they did in week 1 just so the whole world could see what I've been saying from the beginning: Zac Taylor is a fraud and the only reason he still has a job is because Joe Burrow saved him. Agreed. Browns will not let Stefanski go. Not that it's a high bar, but he's the best coach they've had since they returned in 1999. He will be there a long time.
Mayo is in an interesting spot since apparently in his contract as the linebackers coach under Belicheck he would be the replacement for him, he also seems to be trying to make his own staff instead of just hiring his former Patriot posse. However I think everybody and their dog know that the Patriots are going full rebuild and will be charitable to Mayo when it comes to how long he lasts.
KOC has developed an amazing culture around JJ and everyone else in the locker room, his hot seat this year is definitely 1/5, maybe 1.5/5. Similar to Stefanski, we went on that little run with Dobbs, and we beat the Niners convincingly when Kirk was healthy. Now he has a young QB to mold over the next few years, and try to make a competitive roster with that rookie QB contract. Sam Darnold lowkey has some potential left in him though, the 9ers know the value of a backup QB, and I've heard great things from QB gurus talking bout him. Fingers crossed lol

Maybe my Colts bias is showing, but I've heard chatter that Jalen Hurts's previous success is credited to Shane Stiechen especially in light of how Minshew (and Richardson in limited action).. And I think Eberflus is full 5/5. Everyone and their mother has the Bears making the Playoffs and Caleb Williams is an attractive perk for any coach (potentially) replacing Eberflus should the Bears miss the Playoffs
That 28-3 joke at the end is all the more funny after last night. Sorry Falcons fans, but because the Florida Panthers remembered how to play hockey just in time to avoid the reverse sweep, your team still has the biggest choke in sports history.
Stefanski should be at a 0.5. Not only did he just win his 2nd coach of the year, but he also just signed a brand new extension in the offseason. The season would have to be a literal disaster and his fault in some way for anything to happen. The simple fact is too, that while it sucks for all of the teams in general in the division, none of the actual coaches would look bad by missing the playoffs because every single team is easily good enough to win it. The only real team in the division I couldn't see having a real shot at winning the Super Bowl this year are the Steelers. The AFC North last year was the first division in league history since 1935 to have all teams finish above .500; so it's a tough road for everyone.
That was exactly correct on the giants btw, rare to see a non fan have an understanding of anything happening in my wasteland of a team, but this is the make or break it year for all of the giants in different ways. Daniel jones is getting cut after this year, if he doesn’t play his way into staying or gets hurt, daboll needs to show competency and a good offense even if they’re losing, he can survive 7-10, 8-9, and be happy with it if the giants are a fun mediocre team. What he can’t survive is another 31st offense etc. especially not after the wink stuff. Our GM has to have players her picked start to perform. The coach and GM are at like a 2.5-3 respectively, my poor poor Daniel is at a 4.9/5
Shane Steichen took a backup qb and was one unlucky drop away from being 10-7. I would say he overachieved more than any coach in the league last season. His seat will not be hot any time soon
I think Shane Steichen's ranking is appropriate at 1/5. The 2022 Colts had a marginally better record than the 2022 Texans, and the season really came down to the last game against the Texans. And Minshew WAS our backup QB. It would probably take more than simply a losing season for his seat to heat up this year, context would have to matter on top of the losing if it happens.
Agreed, Steichen did more with less, including a 4-3 record against playoff teams where all 3 losses were by 1 score and one was in overtime (and one of the wins was over the eventual conference runner-up Ravens, who blew good teams out of the water all year).
With Quinn being hired, honestly, i think the most important thing about it was the coaches he brought with him. Ken Norton, Anthony Lynn, Joe Whitt, etc. Will never understand the Bobby Johnson hire, though. I would sell my soul to have Bill Callahan back as our O-line coach. Hiring the guy who coached possibly the worst O-line on the worst rated offense of the PFF era with a Washington line that was average on its best days last year is a recipe for killing a young QB's confidence.
Uh-oh, sounds like too many cooks in the kitchen, just like your neighbors to the south. I agree that a good staff is key to buoying a coach, but just because all of those guys you listed have a great resume, that doesn't necessarily mean that they will work out together. The Panthers tried that last year, and those were all great hires... on paper. I wish y'all the best of luck, because y'all deserve better than the stench of Dan Snyder, but please be careful about who you hire
Andy Reid's playoff career alone means he's writing his own checks as for Jerry Jones sending his defensive coordinator to Washington.... all according to plan...
As a Dolphins fan, I'm curious to see how things unfold if McDaniel's offense shits the bed again due to his play-calling and if Weaver is a shitter at DC. McDaniel can only get backpacked by Tua and the speed on the offense so much before something has to give. I'm not saying this is going to happen, I like McDaniel, he just needs to figure his shit out, because he couldn't play-call during games if his life depended on it last year. But if we are going to have a repeat of last season (excluding massive injuries), where McDaniel and the defense lose Miami games against good teams that they should've won (Philly, Buffalo, KC, and not good, but Tennessee) I wonder how short of a leash McDaniel will have going into the 2025 season.
By definition, new coaches/recently resigned coaches can’t have a hot seat ranking. If you got resigned, the organization likes you. If you’re new, you’ve done nothing positive or negative to affect your ranking at all. Some of these rankings seem pretty arbitrary.
Maybe get a ring with Sirianni. But who knows what happens after his coordinators get poached again. Dude is carried by his roster and coordinators. A head coach whose only quality is being a good locker room guy can only take you so far.
All due respect Barry but it sounds like you judge based on stats A LOT and not what actually happens in games. Purdy e.g. is not an impressive QB and the 49ers could do better, same with Tua, and Harbaugh has been living off that one Super Bowl for eons now and makes questionable calls every game. Another playoff failure could see him gone, a lot of fans wanted it a few months ago.
I heavily disagree on your take on the Bills this video. Success is not relative, at the end of the day you play to win the game and the entire point is to win it all. If you fall into this drought mindset that has plagued Bills fans for decades the team will just end up becoming the AFC version of the Cowboys, which is absolutely NOT the position you want to be in. Allen will not be here forever, Allen will not hold his status as a top 2 QB forever, so you have to make the most of having a elite QB unless you want him to have a legacy akin to Rivers, which he is currently on the projectory to do so. We have been in position year in and year out but we have long outgrown McDermott's lack of clutch and aging defenses that can't stop a nosebleed come playoff time. I have been immensely tired, for a very long time of always coming up short to teams like the Chiefs, who unlike the Bills, have given their elite QB a HOF coach, a great O-line year in and year out and reliable defenses that helps their QB and puts them in the best position possible and never takes the ball out of his hands. Injuries should not excuse McDermotts choke jobs because other teams have been able to win in spite of injuries and other unfortunate circumstances and events. McDermott is not fit to be the Bills HC anymore and we have outgrown him and his outdated, weak-minded defenses.
Andy Reid could be outed as Jack the Ripper, and he wouldn't get fired.
He could be convicted of committing war crimes, and his job would still be secured.

Honey, tell your boyfriend to wake up!! Barry just posted a new video!!
Mike Tomlin's seat after another 9-8 season: 🥶
How about after an 8-9 season?
Sean McDermott’s seat is smoking. He’s got one last chance with me.
His seat will not be hot any time soon
i require your seed barry
Barry, i know the drop in views bas been on your mind. Once football returns, so will the viewers. Stay strong
Hard to even tell how good the roster is though due to Ron and Co checking out for most of the season.
Andy Reid's playoff career alone means he's writing his own checks
as for Jerry Jones sending his defensive coordinator to Washington.... all according to plan...
i let my girlfriends husband out to watch this video with me
#1 Wayne fontes!
Payton got more out of a roster that could only muster 5 wins the previous season… they seem to be going in the right direction
Harbaugh should have more super bowl wins. He needs to be on the hot seat for mismanagement of game plans in the playoffs
Heroic
thanks barry, my wife’s new boyfriend let me watch this while he helped my wife sleep
Never forgot 24-3
I used my 30 minutes of screen time a day my wife’s boyfriend gives me to watch this
Bold Prediction Dennis Allen fired after week 7 going 1-6 Carr then gets benched Rattler starts goes 6-4
"It's a free country, at least for right now" hasn't been more true in decades. Everyone please vote blue
By definition, new coaches/recently resigned coaches can’t have a hot seat ranking. If you got resigned, the organization likes you. If you’re new, you’ve done nothing positive or negative to affect your ranking at all.
Some of these rankings seem pretty arbitrary.
Sirianni getting the Andy Reid treatment, I see. I hope he also goes to another team and makes a Super Bowl dynasty.
Maybe get a ring with Sirianni. But who knows what happens after his coordinators get poached again. Dude is carried by his roster and coordinators. A head coach whose only quality is being a good locker room guy can only take you so far.
Sean McDermott needs to go!!!!!! He should’ve been fired after 13 seconds and Daboll should’ve been given HC🤬🤬🤬
Thank you for saving me from my marijuana dependency. Please re release the NFL coach fight club video.
Hi Barry :o)
An early exit in the playoffs is losing in the first round. The Bills have not lost in the first round since the 2019 season
Why would you use an "out of 5" scale instead of out of 10, just to use .5s inside the first minute of the video ffs
My wife's bf is allowing me to watch this video!
Allen keeps it in the lead when needed and McDermott blows it every time with calls and horrible clock management.
