@@crunchytoast6007 look up the 1982 season lol
@@jamesburgess2k thank god Dan Marino only entered the league a year after lol. Would’ve said a rookie Marino was robbed
There is nothing you can say to convince me Ryan Tannehill is more valuable than Derrick Henry
His passing stats were elite so no.
@@kelamullah1999but was that cause of tannehill or because the threat of henry forced teams to commit to stopping the run
they made the playoffs with the first seed with henry hurt in 2021 tannehill gets injured in 2022 and they under .500
@@Mostillist pretty much my take
@Mostillist titans led the league in rushing attempts that season and ranked 6th in points allowed on defense while tannehill threw 21 tds to 14 picks. They also made it further in the playoffs with derrick henry than without him.
Edit:titans ranked 25th in pass attempts that season
The disrespect for AP has to stop. That man almost broke the all-time rushing record after coming of an ACL and MCL injury that should've ENDED HIS CAREER.
And his QB was CHRISTIAN PONDER
Running backs don't matter. Life is unfair
Comeback player of the year, should've been for sure.
Manning was coming off literal neck surgeries (5 i think) and took his team to the playoffs. Absolute robbery.
Glad someone said it
Imagine the level of stupid you gotta reach to convince yourself that a 26 PASSING TD season is somehow better and more valuable than a RB who scored 31 total TDs 😂
I immediately stopped watching when he said that lmao
Exactly..credibility is non existent.
I’ve said it a bunch of times before but Barry’s videos prove QBs will win no matter what 🥴 Lamar’s recent season still would’ve won over 2006 LT imo based on the biased coverage of QBs in the last 10 years
Bc most of RB tds come from the one yard line
Barry keeps going back and forth on whether the MVP is the better player or the most valuable player.
I still feel like the denying of RB's is really crazy.
Modern NFL, yes, it's less needed as they are a lot more rotational. But even 15-20 years ago, a lot of teams couldn't survive without a 1000 yard rusher. Even with a shitty QB, they could do some great things. Saying Manning got Robbed of an MVP by running backs in like 2006 or 2012 is really really wrong. AP carried that sorry ass Vikings squad to a 10-6 record when their best QB was Christian Ponder, that's an unmatched category.
He also came back from a torn ACL injury and ran for fucking 2000 yards the following year, not to mention how he literally dragged that awful Vikings team to the playoffs himself in the final game of that season.
There were probably better players in the NFL, but Adrian Peterson absolutely deserved to win that award, especially considering his only argument is that "RBs should never win over QBs".
Facts while i agree with Barry's opinion on rb's for the most part i think a clear exception is when a rb pretty much single handily carries an otherwise suspect offense to respectability for ap with christian ponder as his qb and defenses loaded up to stop him and still go and put up the numbers he did is easily mvp worthy
I feel like Barry's RB opinion is a bit of a gimmick at this point - he can't possibly look at multiple 2000 yard seasons, or Faulk going for 2000+ from scrimmage, and think those players weren't having an impact on their teams.
Barry basically could've just said "i think a QB should win the MVP every single year" then got right into NBA

Sorry bro, but Jerry rice never won mvp, so Brees is nowhere close to the best nfl player to never win it
That would have to be real talk tbh. Good post
Drew Brees is prolly the most valuable player to never win mvp, but Jerry rice never won it, no lineman ever has, moss didn’t, no all time defenders except pave and Lawrence, etc.
i hate when mf like you say “no where close” when it is close lmao

The best quarterback to never win an MVP is either Brees or Roger Staubach.
@@fortynights1513 Brees easy
My glorious Lebonbon got robbed of MVP every year since the nba started even before being born
I don’t know about that RB take Barry, OJ had a pretty *HUGE* impact on the NFL in the mid-90’s - and he wasn’t even playing!
Can we all acknowledge how beautiful Kareems sky hook is, just perfect.
The biggest MVP robbery was the 1982 season where kicker Mark Moseley beat out Dan Fouts
Yep. Undisputed biggest robbery, nothing comes close.
Calling Peyton Manning more valuable while showing that both Ladanian Tomlinson and Shaun Alexander rushed for the same number of touchdowns for their teams as he threw, 31. And I’m sure they had less fumbles than he had interceptions.
Peyton had more combined passing and rushing TDs in 06, with 35, and had double the yardage both seasons. Who would you rather have Alexander or Peyton Fucking Manning?
@@beam5655 31 touchdowns in 350 touches or 31 touchdowns in 650? I’m just saying, the QB position wasn’t as valuable as you make it out to be until pretty recently. If you think Phillip Rivers was more valuable to the chargers than LT, you might have more CTE than either of them
@@AGoldenShow LT was not more valuable to the chargers than Peyton was to the Colts. I'm not talking about Rivers. Peyton had DOUBLE the yardage and more TDs.
It's not necessarily comparing one to the other, but thinking of what you could replace them with. Take Shaun Alexander off that Seahawks team, and you could probably get a decent running back (this was the mid 00s, they were everywhere) who puts up 1200 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Replacing Peyton Manning with a 'decent' QB is much harder, cause there's generally only 20 reliable QBs in the league at any one time and there's only one or two that can throw for 35 touchdowns and not make lots of mistakes.
Most RBs aren't marching you down the field by rushing 12 times in a row. Peyton could pass 12 times in a row and get you a TD.
However, saying all of that, record breaking seasons deserve to be rewarded and I have no qualms with either of those players winning over what were pretty standard Manning seasons.
Guys I think this guy is a LeBron fan…
I mean he did say MJ should have like 9 or 10 MVPs as well
@@JoeHardacreBut says Jordan played against plumbers
@@fica1137 I dont think it's much of an argument to suggest the overall quality of the league now is significantly higher than it was in the 90s, but it also works both ways in that everyone should have access to better players. It just means that now you cant really get away with a top heavy roster like you could in the 90s.
The bigger thing for me rather than the plumbers argument is how the salary cap spike impacted the league in the late 10s. It should never have been feasible for Durant to join a 73 win team with multiple max players. Can you imagine if in 96 if Shaq just joined the Bulls.
@@JoeHardacre if Bulls owner was willing to spend more like Warriors do every season on luxury tax Shaq joining Bulls would have been feasible because Pippen and Jordan were grossly underpaid until Jordan got the biggest contract in history in 1997.
Warriors were in similar situation with Curry who was injured before signing his contract. He was 60th best paid player in 2015 season while Jordan was 16th in 1995 season
@@fica1137 the warriors barely paid any luxury tax in 2017, compared to now, because the salary cap spike was so big. Cleveland actually had the biggest.
Not even a chance Brees deserved MVP over LT… he did deserve it over Peyton in 09 tho
It’s still insane to me that Lamar Jackson almost won the unanimous MVP again with the season he had. You can make the argument he deserved the MVP, but in no way, shape or form did he deserved it unanimously. Brock should have gotten some votes at least. Hell CJ Stroud had an argument before he went down.
What swayed this year's was that when Jackson and Purdy faced off, Lamar went off, and Purdy played like dogshit
Josh Allen and CMC were 100x more valuable to their team than Lamar was
It's the QB of the year award these days unfortunately
@@gabrieldodds9081 I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve to win I’m just saying the fact that he was so close to winning unanimously even though it was a tight race until that game that happened at the end of the year is insane. Also, one week should erase the rest of the entire year. He could win but there was no point where he was 49 to 1 good.
@@AppleGuy256not even that. It’s the QB with the best record award
As a Steelers fan, I’m contractually obligated to state that TJ Watt was in fact, robbed of the DPOY
Which year?
Embiid winning over Jokic was highway robbery where tf is that comparison
Why does everyone pretend like Embiid didn’t also have an incredible regular season? They were both incredible, the tie breaker was a combination of voter’s fatigue, Kendrick Perkins, and the desire to see Embiid win at least one MVP.
Now if MVP was a playoff award, then you might have a point.
@@sprawlz6466Kendrick Perkins is the reason why Embiid won. Jokic was the clear favorite betting wise until that segment with Perkins came out

In Hardens year, he was definitely the most valuable player 😂
Lebron was insane in the playoffs but that rockets team was dominant in the West while the Cavs struggled all year in a bad Eastern Conference

Heisman robberies: 2018 Tua Tagovailoa. Only lost because he would play half a game, go up by 50 and let backup Qb Jalen Hurts get some playing time.
I hate bama with every ounce of my being but Tua 1000000% should have won the Heisman that year.
The year elway won MVP he had 19TD to 12INTs. Jerry rice had 23TD in 12 games and over 1000 yards easily the biggest robbery
Based on the definition of the NBA MVP it always goes
1) best story
2) best player on best team
3) actual MVP
Points deducted for repeat winners, points given for first time winners
Based on that media definition, pretty much every MVP deserved the exact MVPs they got
Bingo! it's the exact same way in the NFL. I'm just surprised most fans haven't realized that these awards have always been based on media narratives
@@Jiffy0 which is why using MVP's to rank players doesn't mean as much as people think, it's media members voting on storyline/likeability first and foremost. Need to look at every MVP with context
Ehhh, idk, Lawrence Taylor was pretty freaking valuable. Dude was good enough to carry the giants to two super bowls. The guy single handedly made sacks a recorded statistic cause he got so many
bro be sounding slow sometimes idk what he be talking about
That's where I also disagreed with him and I'm positive that those 23 interceptions held Marino back from winning MVP
Idk about some of these takes. I feel like we gotta see this the way JJ Watt said it: there’s the “best player”, and then there’s the “most valuable player”. D Rose in 2011 is 100% more valuable to his team than LeBron was to his. All we gotta see is what happened the year after to see how valuable he really was. Sorry but facts are facts.
The AI mvp being more of a robbery to Shaq than Steve Nash winning an mvp over Shaq has to be one the hottest of hot takes
i think a lot of people agree with this
Nash over Kobe, Lebron, or Dirk is still the biggest robbery ever.
The only thing Iverson robbed Shaq over was that final MVP vote in 2000 that would've made Shaq the first unanimous MVP.
@@ianstratton there's been so many MVPs in that should've been unanimous that I honestly don't give a shit about whether they were unanimous or not. Shaq's should've been, but so should've some of Wilt's, Kareem's, Bird's, and Jordan's.
I love how hard you fought to give Lebron more MVPs than Jordan, elite narrative pushing is necessary when the stats don't do it
Here's one to debate: Johnny Unitas over Sonny Jurgensen in 1967. Sonny set the NFL passing yards record and led the league with 31 TDs (a lot back then). He also led the league in pass attempts (and completions) while also leading the league in interception rate (when it was harder to avoid picks). He was also second in sack rate (although those pre-1982 sack stats are a bit spotty). Unitas had a better completion percentage and was second in yards, but threw only 20 TDs with the same number of INTs (16).
However, Jurgensen went 5-6-1 with a defense that ranked 11th in points allowed, while Unitas went 11-1 with a defense that was 2nd in points allowed.
Food for thought.
I love Barry but his videos make me so happy he doesn’t have an MVP vote 😭
I’d love to see this type of video with other awards. Especially DPOY
Kobe did not get robbed of 2006 MVP is was Dirk. Dirk led the Mavs to 60 wins being the only all star on the team and led the league in WS, WS/48, OWS, PER, OBPM. Was 2nd BPM. 3rd in VORP.
Kobe stans are the worst.
Respect for dirk but leading kwame brown, smush parker, and luke walton to 47-35
35 ppg
And first team all defense >>>>>>>>>>> dirk
He's only comparing directly with the MVP winner. They are "could've won" MVPs. Kobe could have won that one, even though Barry thinks Lebron should've. So basically could've vs should've, Barry is talking about could've.
@eyeconqueror1185 making a argument for our fav player is bad? Just agree to disagree brother
@@rjmacready9828Was Odom on the 06 team?
Barry showing actual Tom Brady highlights? He must be very sick, the real McCockiner would never!!
I’m a Lebron fan but no way he deserved MVP over Harden. He definitely turned super saiyan in the playoffs but just based on regular season production and team success Harden deserved that.
Harden earned that MVP. In fact, he was robbed in 2015 and 2017 as well, arguably 2019 as well
Respecting the grind Barry! You may not see this but just know we’re proud of you and your hard work. Theres a reason you have this many subs
Rodgers absolutely stole an MVP from JJ Watt who put up the best defensive season ever
Babe wake up Barry dropped more nba content
They just need to make a Cy Young award for QBs already so they can start giving MVPs to the players who actually are the best players in the league that year not just by default the hottest QB w/the rare RB.
Barry should do top 10 greatest coaches of all time or top 10 greatest teams for football and basketball
Do The Best Franchise Player (Non QB) From Each Team Next
I feel like you could include 2016 for Rodgers and Brady
Love watching this channel as a Brady/Kobe fan😂
That's what I like about Baseball over the NFL. Outside of Starting Pitchers, which have their own MVP category with other pitchers, no position is generally more important or just a slam dunk for MVP every year. One year it will be a Right Fielder, then a Shortstop, then a Catcher. I like it that way. Everyone has a chance. Obviously some positions get more attention such as Shortstop, but it can still be won by everyone. But tbh, Catcher is the most important. A bad catcher will ruin your defense.
More vids like this please!
People really want to have Kobe Bryant in the GOAT conversation when he deserved 0 mvps. Only the GOAT of 2003 Colorado hotel headlines
Brees should have 4 rings from 2009, 2011, 2017 and 2018 and 3 MVPs from 2009, 2011 and 2018 and was robbed because of his defense
As a saints fan mahomes more than deserved the 2018 mvp. 2006 and 2009 were the Brees he was the best qb, I think LT keeps 06 tho. Barry saying manning should have 06 is absolute blasphemy tho, Brees balled that year and was 1st team AP for a reason
As a Saints fan Mahomes deserved it in 2018. The voters love the QB on the team with the best record, so Brees got the most MVP votes that year, but 2009 he should have won, and I would have voted him over Rodgers in 2011. I would have also gave it to him in 2008.
In no world did Brees deserve MVP in 2018 over Mahomes 😂
As a Giants fan, you can’t take 2011 from me. Maybe don’t give up a touchdown to SF with like 0 seconds left next time.

I feel like you could have a 4th category for players who deservedly did not win MVP but were good enough to win it nearly any other year like Brees in 2011.
Brees is so unlucky.
People think MVP is about stats, it’s not, it’s about how valuable a player is to their team, Rodgers lead the Packers to a 15-1 record, brees didn’t
What happened to the round 1 preview video?
more nba content please. nash gets a lot of slander for his mvp seasons but its a good tell for those who weren't tuned in to the nba those years the suns played such great team basketball with nash running the show and their matchups with kobes lakers in those playoffs were just as exciting if not more than the proceeding finals imo. but im not glazing i get why other players w better stats may have equal or stronger cases for mvp those years. similar to the better record bias in the 90s
Just remember, anytime Barry mentions Brady, he’s going to hate him. And anytime he mentions Lebron it’s all just praise. So take any takes on these 2 players with loads of salt
Jokic got robbed last year, Should be 4 straight MVPs this year
Do NVP robberies next!
The argument of LT not winning that MVP because QB is more important is so dumb i cant tell if its satire. LT that year was on the best team in the NFL surrounded by not a single reciever with a thousand yards. Hell LT by himself had half of the recieving yards of antonio gates the number 1 pass catcher of that team. The chargers without LT that year would have been abysmal and thats literally what an MVP means. Its most valuable player not most valuable QB. Today's league makes sense for that thought process due to the running game being nonexistent for the most part outside of henry and mccaffrey, in 2006 however running the ball was as important as passing
Coming out hot with a nuclear fire take. Immediately lost me with the LT take
How is there no argument kareem didn’t deserve some of those mvps when he literally missed the playoffs
Barry only gives us bangers
B grateful ya sacks of wine
Woulda been interesting to see how Wilt would look with this criteria.
Literally, no one says that kobe was robbed of 5 mvp's. 99% of us agree that he should have 2, maybe 3 if you're pushing it
MVP is a marketing award; It's not about the player's value to their team, it's about the player's value to the popularity of the league.
JJ Watts MVP snub angers me to this day.
How does Barry not see Lesbron is the biggest grifter of all?
Jj watt getting snubbed in 2014 was a travesty, I still think about it till this day
The word “valuable” is so subjective they I don’t think there’s a common understanding amongst fans who truly deserves the award.
Same some for Savannah. Harden and DRose both deserved those MVPs Harden could arguably have 3 or 4 himself. The Bulls that year were not projected to win as many games at they did and the fact Boozer and I think Noah were injured and still had more wins than the Big 3. If the shoe was on the opposite foot and he was in DRose position you would make that argument 10 times out if 10
Yup and this is my gripe wit vron fans avout 2011 if the roles were reversed and Bron carried a sorry roster to relevance putting up great numbers while doing so onlt to lose the mvp to another player putting up great stats on a super team bron fans would probably still be complaining till this day hell he mentioned harden in 2018 had KD been given that mvp in 2018 over vron lbj fans woyld have rioted
obviously harden isn’t better than lebron james. literally nobody is except for jordan(maybe idk). but, like cmon, harden obviously deserved mvp that year. he lead the rockets to the first seed in the much stronger(at the time) western conference with 65 wins, while lebron only led the cavs to the 4th seed in the much weaker(at the time) eastern conference with 50 wins. also, harden literally had a higher WS and WS/48.
he was literally, statistically the more value player too lmao
Brady definitely should’ve gotten MVP in 2021 let’s be forreal lol
another day another video underrating aaron rodgers' 2016 season
The football half of this video is just pure bad takes. It's like you've become one of those casuals who know everything about the qb but don't know sh*t about the other positions.
That 2nd half of Petersons MVP season is the most dominant stretch by any running back ever. He was averaging like 200 yards a game on 5-6ypc with Christian Ponder under center and 9 or even 10 man box most plays. It was a just unreal stretch of football and actually carried a pretty dog shit Vikings team to the playoffs.
D Rose better no one who slanders him ever mentions the fact he was like 3 years removed from high school and Bron was at his athletic peak
Worst MVP in modern NBA history. LeBron easily deserved it. He wiped the floor with him statistically and even in advanced metrics.
@taysonjatum2209 Stats don't change team success, D Rose may have had worse averages but he brought his team to the 1st seed despite key players being injured, it's called most valuable player, not best player of the year
@@taysonjatum2209lebron was also on a super team with a second option who put up stats similar to the mvp winner that year despite all that rose still led his team to 60+ wins and the first seed in the east over miami to make it more clear the man LEBRON JAMES himself when asked acknowledged rose deserved mvp this whole rose 2011 nonsense is one of the biggest non arguments in sports right now
Video idea: the benefits of having a gunslinger vs a pocket passer. Basically Josh Allen vs Joe burrow types of qb.
A gunslinger can also be a pocket passer tho look at peyton manning or dan Marino
Why do you act like go alone rushing TDs are easy? Those are the hardest to get.
Barry you've convinced me on a lot of things, but in no universe will you convince me that Derrick Rose didn't deserve the MVP over LeBron James in the 2010-2011 NBA Season.
Rose literally won more games without 2 hall of famers on his squad and 2 starters in Boozer and Noah both missing significant games. There isn’t an argument for Lebron it’s literally just lunacy.
@@shubtakesdubs5395 Dude that team was good because of their defense. In fact those years he was injured the Bulls still managed to be a top 5 team in the east. When LeBron left the Heat missed the playoffs.

@@taysonjatum2209while yes those bulls were always good defensively they were only elite and seen as contenders when rose was the engine to the offense the bulls staying competitive after rose's injuries is really more a testament to the east being weak and the emergence of joachim noah and jimmy vutler more than anything also once bro. Left the heat they had to deal with a bunch of injuries if bosh and wade are healthy that heat team is a playoff team in the east
This is a goofy take I know, but I genuinely think Brees not getting MVP love was partly height bias. I think because he was shorter and looked a little smaller in his pads, he got some conscious or subconscious side eye from the old school types like Elway who like big, statuesque QBs.
Interesting... How tall are you?
No. As a Saints fan, it's because of Sean Payton. Everyone knew he was great, but because of the pass happy offense he was in, people would constantly discredit his numbers as they assumed the system he was in was boosting his stats.
Only after he retired and everyone saw how you couldn't just plug anyone into that offense and have them throw for 5000 yards is when we saw everyone suddenly say how "underrated" Brees was.
@@jamesburgess2kI think it’s a combination of what you said, the historically awful defenses holding his record back, and the fact that the Saints just don’t get much attention from the media even when doing well. Marshall Faulk put up over 2,000 yards and 26 tds a record at the time in JUST 14 games..if you remember back in that time Marshall Faulk was reffered to the best player in the nfl. Marahall Faulk willed the rams to the playoffs that year. In a must win game in new Orleans he put the team on his back with 236 yards and 3 tds. How is that not mvp?
