2021 Gold Britannia Coin is Very, Very Nice
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лис 2020
- This video takes a closer look at the 2021 1oz Gold Britannia Coin. In my opinion, this is the nicest coin to be released this year. It's a stunning coin aesthetically, but the new security features put it at the top of the list. Being from the United States, this is not the coin I recommend, but it does come at a much lower premium than the American Gold Eagle or American Buffalo. This was my last pre-election purchase, and I deliberated a fair amount before buying. My hope is that the new 2021 American Gold Eagle will receive many of the same security features, and that factored into my decision.
NOTE: I am not a financial planner. I'm just a guy on the internet, talking about precious metals. Always do your own research before buying gold or silver.

What coin capsules are used for these Gold coins? I like them.
I bought this oz when j was trying to quit smoking, i carried this oz around in my pocket to remind me of the savings of my success , still have it, still not smoking, and yes low premiu.
That's great!
Brilliant.
That’s a great idea
You carry a £1500 coin around in your pocket? Are you mad?
Stay strong bro! One recommendation, carry the silver version instead of the gold one
Ive always thought the Britannia is one of the best shining pure gold coins..........I know most people seem to prefer buffalos or maples but the royal mint is doing a good job with this coin.
Yeah, I don't know why it isn't as popular, but the 2021 coin is a standout to me. Cheers!
Even the old 2020 gold Britannia was the best mass-produced bullion coin but the 2021 just crushes the competition imo
@@Andomaca1 it's the coin of the year in my opinion
Dunno if I'm a fan of the newer maples I prefer the old flat face design
After seeing your new Britannia on this channel I've had to pull the trigger on one for myself it comes tomorrow can't wait hope it's as nice as it looks great channel keep the videos coming 👍
Yeah, congrats! It's 🔥. I think it's the one to beat.
U.K Based. Just bought this as my first gold coin. Very excited to begin investing more in gold and to actually get to hold the coin (albeit very briefly, before popping it back in the case)
It's a great coin!
I purchased one of these and received it last week. It's stunningly beautiful. I look forward to stacking these.
They really are impressive! Cheers!
I've started stacking 2021+ Britannias, partially for their beauty, but mainly due to their much lower premiums and new security features. Haven't tried to sell any yet, and don't plan to, but hope they start gaining popularity here in the states.
I believe they will! I am stacking them without looking back.
Been watching your videos a lot recently. I’m with you on gold buffs and eagles. I only buy those two coins anymore but mostly Buffalos. . I am not a fan of the way the security features look on the maple to be honest. I used to have a few of the earlier ones and the the new ones and I prefer the older ones. But the actual security factor is nice. Love your videos man! Thanks for the good content.
Hey, thank you!
Buffalos and Britannia’s the best and most beautiful Gold coins in the world!!
I can agree with that. RCM and Perth have some amazing coins as well.
EU based. Have collected pre 33 European gold but the premiums have gone up here in the EU. Considering to stack 1 Oz coins and currently looking at all the options. The Britannia with it’s safety features puts this on the top of my list. Great video. Thanks!
I do like and own a few Britannia silver coins. This gold version is beautiful. Thanks for the share.
Of course! Thanks for watching!
Great looking coin! I have been buying Royal Mint Solver for a while... I love the 10oz Silver Queen's Beasts & Valiant's, I also have the 10oz coat of arms... if you buy upon release they have gone up. Thanks again for sharing!
The Royal Mint has some really cool releases. The US Mint could learn from them! Cheers!
I do like that Britannia
It's very nice!
Plan on buying 1 oz. gold coin soon. The Britannia has moved to the top of my list due to the design and if you are putting out close to $2,000 the security features are top notch. Will follow up with the new gold eagle followed by the gold maple leaf. For now I'm buying 2021 silver Britannia
It's a good choice. Cheers!
Yes, you got one! 🙌 2021 is gorgeous. And they’re even cheaper right now.
It’s my absolute favourite after the Buffalo 🙂
It's a fantastic coin, and it's hard to beat the premium!
I just picked one of these up yesterday with a low premium. In my opinion this is the best looking coins out right now. Next on my list is to get a gold buffalo proof.
Agreed on the aesthetics (and security) of the coin. It’s so well designed!
Nice buddy, this will be one of my next two Gold coins. A+
It's fantastic. What's your other choice?
A beautiful Britannia. I like it. But, like the radial lines better I think. The microlettering is cool though and lenticular privy mark is cool. I got the silver. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Sal! I like the waves since they play into the "Empire of the Sea" theme. I wish the US Mint would put this level of thought into the Eagle. Put the eagle on a rippling flag or something. Cheers!
Plain and simple....... it is artwork! And that alone is worth it!
That is just utterly stunning.
Agree!
1 of my Fave coins! Got some silver bars of those, hard to find nowadays. Love the design on the Britannia!
Me too, and this year it’s even nicer! Cheers!
As someone thinking of investing in a Britannia since I live in the UK, I absolutely love the look of the Buffalo.
I got a 2020 Britannia a few weeks ago. It's the most beautiful coin i have.
Great pick up. They’re one of the best-looking coins available!
I like the security features of the newest Britannia coins. Even the silver coins have the same features, if I'm not mistaken. I wish the US Mint would think about more security features.
I don't know if you just didn't mention them, but another security feature of the new Britannia is the lines in the shield.
very beautiful coin
i will buy one for sure
keep it great content!
Thanks!
Much respect to your awesome stack bud.. both gold and silver, its great.. but i dont know how you take them out of the case like that lol
A few changes just made the Britannia simply stunning.
Agree. There’s a big improvement in 2021 vs the last few years. Thanks for watching!
@@2is1gold Really? You didn't like the 2020 version or the 2019/20 Oriental Border versions? Wow
I acquired my first Britannia (2020) last week and it is a very nice coin!
Very nice!
One thing you should add to your videos is proving that the coin is 100% pure using a sigma or XRF. I think all gold coins are beautiful, it's an ounce of gold w different designs, but all of them are beautiful including the eagle which is not my favorite being part copper and silver. As for the security features, any mint can put a security feature on a coin that isn't pure gold. Security features are just additions to the coin. I think the Austrian fill harmonic is a nicer coin than the Britannia, not overly impressed seeing the androgynous queen on the front. Good video, it's always good to show if the coin is real, that's what viewers really want to see besides the coin itself.
I feel with the US dumbing down some of the details on the eagles, that the mint is looking to have its coins seen a much more of just bullion over the numismatic precision of the maple leafs or the Britannia’s.
Got a few of these myself. Love the design.
They're great!
This video is now my shopping list for the near future.
I’ll be grabbing another soon as well!
Nice addition, 2. My favourite is still the Buffalo and hopefully the PM prices will continue down, (fingers crossed), so I can get the 2012/16/18/19&20, to complete the run. I did have some earlier Britannias, but I traded them due to their having scuffs and scratches, which bugged me. I still have a 1991 proof, though, which is stunning. The older ones can be bought as bullion, so I recommend going for them as well as proof sovereigns.
I'm missing a few Buffalo mintage years too, but the last thing I need is one more detail (the year) to obsess over! 😆 Buffalos are my favorite coin too, but Eagles are still my logical choice. I'd make a terrible collector. I envy your ability to sit out when things get too hot. I feel bad enough for me, but I feel worse for anyone just starting out. You can't go an hour without someone on UA-cam telling you you have to BUY NOW or telling you how much you need to own. Cheers!
Love the Una & Lion from the Royal Mint
Purely splendide and informative videos . You are ...Gold , Sir.
Merci!
@@2is1gold merci to you!!

A beautiful coin 💖
Looks nice, have to get one
splendid .. thanks for sharing .. might get one as matter of fact
Yeah, thanks for watching!
Just bought the 2023 1/4 , 1/2 Britannia love it ! I'm from Australia just picked it up from mint !
Well, I revisited the topic on your channel due to that over the past 2 years, I have focused more on (adding more) gold and buying 1/4oz gold coins...I find myself buying more of the Britannia's over the ASE or even the Maples due to premiums, and that I find so many sales on the Britannia's. For example today SD Bullion has the 1/4oz Brit at 519.00. I feel a little bad not buying the ASE or Maple, but the Brit has been affordable for me.
That’s Britannia is nice let them the eagle but man can’t go wrong with an eagle and Buffalo.. very cool video brother !
I'd love to see the Eagles catch up to this level of craftsmanship. It could be really cool!
i was just playing with one of mine and in the right light and angle she looks like the shape on the uk, i dunno if that was deliberate but its definately close lol
Maaaan that is one shiny coin
I want it!
I have a 2021 silver Britannia. Very pretty design. Gold would be even nicer because you eliminate any milk spot risk.
The reverse proof on the gown is liquid fire. The coin is very nice!
I have been looking for a direct fit capsule for my 1oz britannia like yours in this video. Do you have any recommendation on where I can buy? Thanks!
Just purchased this coin today what capsule do you recommend as you said it rattles around in the case u have
Love the Britannia!:)
It really is a great coin!
Its weight and measurements are the best identifier.. microengraving is great still
Hmmm I didn’t know about the unique patterns for the gold Maple that makes each coin different... gotta look into that. Is it like a micro engraved serial number? Very nice classic design, finish, and security features on the Britannia!
Each privy is unique and has its own entry in a database a little like a serial number. It's really pretty cool, but you can see how that might rub certain people in the community. I'm expecting the AGEs to have something similar. It'll be very interesting.
I personally love the overall appearance of the Britannia in both silver and gold the best. The security features for me place it at the very top of the class. Being as difficult to counterfeit, why wouldn't you want to consider stacking this? For me, knowing something is pure and legit is #1 for liquidity, right? Also, since 2021, maybe the Britannia will have earned it's rightful place as a very desirable stackable coin. It is for me anyways. I have plenty and I only have one A. S. E. due to their overated premiums. Thanks for a great channel!!
They really did jump up a level with the new features. Cheers!
So, just watching this. IMO the lady liberty on the AGE is anatomically correct *if* you adjust your perception. Her left leg is bent and her foot is up higher b/c she’s stepping up onto a solid rock. Her right arm is also with the elbow going towards the back, both therefore appearing shorter. However, you’ve looked at these coins a lot more often, longer, and in person than I, who don’t even own a Gold Eagle yet, only a Maple. But thought I’d share my perception based on your great video quality.
I have bought 3 x 2021 Britannias and 3 x 2022 Britannias. They are stunning.
Best PM channel on UA-cam
Hey, thank you!!!
Does the Britannia fit snug in the capsule with the black ring without any rattle? Is it a 32mm capsule? Thanks in advance!
Love Britannias ( I'm British so they are more liquid and desirable for me ), my fave coin lots of cool designs especially the proofs. It's amazing on the 1oz butl the same features are on the 1/10 Oz too.
I'm amazed that's possible. It's really impressive!
Beautiful! The cat food can security feature isn't as obnoxiously obvious as the one on silver.
The privy mark doesn't look like a padlock/trident on silver? 😂
hi, where did you get the capsule?
I agree. This is the best looking 2021 Mint Coin by a country mile.
The security features are a bonus!
I really like that coin. It's nice. I like the britiana coins. I got the 2020 1/2oz but I need a 2021
Yeah, they're all nice, but the 2021s have a little extra punch!
Agree 100% Beautiful coin
💯
You have me sold on the britannia. pure gold is just so much more brilliant than 22k. The platinum Britannia is cool too.
This is a particularly stunning gold coin. The 2021 design is just amazing. It has tax benefits for those who resides in the UK. I got the 1oz 2020 gold britannia, I was looking forward to buy the gold 2020 1oz britannia with oriental border but harder to find on the market now, as only 5000 coins were made. I’m still looking forward to buy it though. The 2021 one as well. Also the 2021 gold eagle with the old reverse design I think it’s a great opportunity to invest on it, as the new design is arriving soon and this year is considered historical with two different reverse designs. So i guess the 2021 gold eagle with old design will be good valued and rare in the future.
Agree. All three coins you mention are great, but the 2021 Britannia is 🔥
2 is 1 i agree. Just take a look at the 2020 gold britannia with oriental border. And the extraordinary brilliance of the coin itself.
I just picked up 2 king charles III britania, nice to see the king on there. the maple is still the queen.
definitely looks cool. my bottom line is which is easiest to resell if necessary? also the new AGE didn't bother with much in the way of security features at all. unfortunately
I was happy there was no unique identifier on the T2 AGE but still think they need an anti-counterfeit measure or two. Cheers!
The coin is a beauty for sure . 👍
Absolutely!
Picked up one of these on the dip. ✌
Nice!
i just bought one of this yesterday due to the dip yesterday!
Dip today? Either way, congrats!
@@2is1gold the 32mm capsule seems to be bigger in diameter.. coin is rattling inside the capsule... but i like the same capsule that u have. I hv bought some of these capsule... looks like the 2021 britannia is just tiny bit smaller in diameter..
@@viperviperpiro a fraction of a millimeter smaller, but it still seems to matter. So dumb! 😄
@@2is1gold maybe i will stuff a tiny strip of BCW protective sleeve material into the capsule (along the coin edge)
Gorgeous coin no doubt
💯
Recently bought one, at a lot less than $2,000! Can't wait to receive it!
Nice! Great prices on Britannias lately!
Where do you get those bigger sized capsules? They look much better than the usual exact size ones.
The 32mm direct-fit capsules I use are here: amzn.to/38TpVE9 These have the extra space around the coins.
HI 2. I LIKE THE NEW EAGLE REVERSE FOR THE AGE. YOUR BRIT IS COOL. *TYU*
That’s two of us now. Pretty soon we’ll have enough members to form a club! 😁
@@2is1gold LOL 2. I HAVE TO GET YOU TO RECONSIDER COLLECTING LIBERTADS.
@@donaldinnewmexico that might take some work! 😆
Got a link or name of that capsule for the Britannia 1oz please.
this is really neat coin
Definitely. Not a surprise really, but I'm very happy with it!
Best coin you can get. Security features alone would grant it a higher premium than bars for example
And it has one of the lowest premiums of any modern coin. Cheers!
I have a 1/2 Oz. It is a beautiful coin . I live in Canada .
young kid coming into the market thinking this will be my first ounce i pick up planning on doing it next week!
Good luck!
My favorite gold coin is the Canadian gold maple leaf. It’s so beautiful. My second is the Philharmonic. It is also beautiful. This is my opinion.
The Canadian Maple Leaf is potentially my favorite as well. I have commemoratives I'd say are better looking, but the CML has always stood out. Cheers!
My favorite one as well, outside more so some collectors coins. I don't like Eagles, at all, Buffalo's are nice but too expensive for me. I wish they made 1/2 oz Buffalo's. I know they did years ago but those are more expensive than 1 oz ones its absurd.
I thought that redesigning the reverse of the Gold and Silver Eagle coins was a terrific idea. Not only would it “update” the look, but it would also generate a lot of new enthusiasm to purchase them, making them more collectible. Here’s my main beef...the designs that the U.S. Mint chose were absolutely subpar. With all the designs submitted, how the heck did they get it wrong? The dummies in charge made the poor decisions, instead of letting the public vote on them, which would have been a much better option.
I'm still holding out hope that the sculptures will be much nicer than the sketches. I think the AGE at least could be very cool. We'll see!
More advanced security features would really make me want to buy AGE despite the fact that I live in the EU. However, do you think that it's more difficult to apply such security features to a 22k gold coin than to a 24k gold coin?
The mints will have the technology to apply them to 22k or even silver. I hope they actually do it all. We really only have confirmation on the privy marks, but I think they'll take it further.
That coin is on my list for the near future! Next 1oz purchase for me is this coin!
It’s a really good choice!
5:08 now that we've seen the design, that's probably why you were the only one excited for it. I really hope they go back to the original design.
Beautiful bud
Great coin!
Gorgeous 😍
Agreed - it’s a fantastic coin!
Where did you get that coin casing im going to need 150 for my incoming silver britanias
The ASE capsules are here: amzn.to/36ugtp6 But I think the silver Britannias are smaller in diameter. Maybe look into: amzn.to/3cvPEoo
I've got some in silver, very nice coin.
🔥
The Britannia is beautiful
Hello everyone! I have a stupid question but that's probably because of an undiagnosed ocd:
Which side should be upwards when I put the britannia coins in capsules? I found on Wikipedia that the obverse is the side with the queen/king and the reverse is the side with the Britannia. But on internet and in every youtube video I see people who put their coins with the Britannia-side (reverse) facing up! I know it's just bullion and it doesn't matter but I want to have all my coins correctly placed.
Thank you all!
Hey man .did you figure out a way to remedy the rattling in the direct fit capsules ? Thanks for the info
I tried a few capsules and found one that rattles a little less. There's a small chance the summer heat has a bit to do with it. (Not that it's ever outside of climate control.)
@@2is1gold I noticed the slight rattle for my Britannias compared to my Buffaloes. However, I disagree that it's due to the diameter: try drawing the 1/100th of 1mm difference between 32.69mm and 32.7mm.
Instead, I noticed the Buffalo is much *thicker*. If these are both 1oz .9999 fine gold, how is it the Britannia is thinner?
Turns out, I see the Buffalo having a greater thickness, but then also having a deeply-stamped design with much more negative space. There is more distance from the lowest to the highest spots in the Buffalo design. The Britannia is shallow-stamped by comparison, with less distance from lowest to highest spots.
The above explains why the Britannia is a *thinner coin* than the Buffalo, despite having the same amount of metal/mass. As a result, the Britannia rattles *front-to-back* in the air-tite capsule designed to hold a slightly thicker Buffalo.
These are great in the UK as there's no CGT or VAT to pay.
I'm planning to save up for this coin, I'm a UK resident so it's got obvious tax benefits for UK citizens.
Great coin!
Wish I could say that for being Canadian. Our government says to us: I jam you more! 🤣😳
Beauty
I really like those wide edge capsules you use for the Britannias in the video? What brand name should I search for?
They’re Air-Tite. amzn.to/38TpVE9
@@2is1gold Thanks bro. Keep up the good work!
BEAUTIFUL COIN !
I got obsessed with Red Wing Iron Rangers… Now I’m just thinking about the gold I could’ve bought.
Dang it.
Shoes first. Gold second. Expensive shoes third. 😁
@@2is1gold I like the way you think, heyyyy
these make sense if you live in the UK - zero sales tax, zero capital gains tax - goes for any gold Royal Mint coin (i.e. Sovereign)
Is that direct fit capsule the same as the one for the American gold eagle and gold buffalo?
It is. 👍🏼
@@2is1gold im having the same rattling issue with the britannia i purchased. I went out of my way to buy the royal mint capsule which is only available from the UK for some odd reason (couldn't find it here in the states based on my research) and I still had the rattling problem. Its beyond me why they would make a coin and there's no corresponding protective capsule for it
When I hold a Maple or Brittannia in my hand, I get a shot of pure infatuation.
Yeah, they have some kind of magic in them!
If only the maple had the same obverse as the Britannia, That would be one beautiful coin
Yeah, Canada’s caricature of the Queen is pretty bad. 👵
@@2is1gold it's awful, it's the reason I'm not dropping $1950 on this 30mm coin. Maybe next year the RCM will take a page from the RM ✌️🥉
I love the Britannia. I think they look better than the eagles and much cheaper. I'm new to collecting and I'm from US but the eagles are just crazy with the premium
Yeah, 1 oz Eagles can be found for 5% but fractionals are very expensive right now. Cheers!
This is my personal favorite coin. I sold my gold eagles to buy Britannia’s
It’s a great looking coin.
I just got into stacking precious metals. It's tough to swing funds for 1 OZ. However it's a bargain to stack fractional 1/10 2021 Gold Britannia's from Hero Bullion at $205 a piece. I'll keep stacking them until they go out of stock or prices rise on them. It's a beauty.
