    SILVER 🦖!! What's up my guy!? Dude, sweet collection of gold coins.
    I personally like the 'wave' pattern in the new 2022 Britannias, but that's just me. Thanks for doing the currency conversion because I was like uhhh. 1334 pounds is... Howwww many dollars. 😅

      There's a few cool videos coming soon, quite a bit of shopping hasn't made it to a video yet. Yes Britannias are a nice coin overall, the security features do beat the sovs

    I'm in California, and in an area without a coin shop. I find good deals on 1/4th Britannias online, but lately, the Sovereigns are expensive online. I can no longer find them in the low 400's USD range. 1/4 Britannia can be found for under 500 USD. This is while spot was approx. 1800 USD. So I wait until I can find the best possible deal. We also pay tax on bullion purchases under 1500 USD - so the 1 ozt Britannia is one of the best deals out there. You'd have to buy 4 Sovereigns or 3 1/4ths to avoid tax.

      That's an interesting consideration yes thanks for the input. At least you can combine multiple coins to hit that threshold. How do quarter oz eagles compare to brits in price generally?

    Tough call.. you tell the average Joe you found a box of gold sovereigns compared to finding a box of Britannia's. The sovereign has the instant credibility and history but the Brit is probably a "better" coin technically.

    I hold both, i collect alternative design full sovereigns and 1/4oz brits and i stack full sovereign and 1oz britannias, as they are by far the most liquid gold in uk, with lowish premiums . I do feel you need both sizes as you wouldnt want to crack into a full 0z if you only need a few £100, especially in the furture when gold is more expensive . The brits look nicer than the new sovereign no silly red tinge as they are 24k ( well the modern ones are)

    • @SovereignSaurus
      @SovereignSaurus  Рік тому

      I agree the colour of the Brits is much better. A point to consider yes if gold were to surge in price but the cost of your good and services remained fairly flat then it might be a little constricting only having 1 Oz for eg. Any unexpected expenses less than a few thousand £ I wouldn't sell gold for but if I had to stretch a bit for another investment then a chunk of the stack could come in handy

    Sovereigns are nice collectable coins; but the Britannia is the better coin as it has higher gold content; if you are investing in bullion. Personally these days I have lost my preference the way gold market has gone up since 2008 I would buy both its all about getting the right deal at that particular time.

      Yes there is a reason why the sovereign is cheaper its only 22ct gold, Britannia's are more expensive because it is 24ct investment grade gold for recent issues! Sovereigns cannot be used (normally) to secure an investment in a financial asset as they are not regarded as pure, most exchanges of this type will only accept investment grade. For example buying into a gold back pension.

      It's anyones guess, another 25 years or so a lot can happen. The 25 year low in gold is about £157 and in USD $250 so 8-10x in the time period if you bought there, we'll see if the future reflects a similar trend I guess
