I hope you enjoyed watching my homeschool curriculum picks for my upcoming 2nd grader!
Yes. I enjoy your videos. I am learning English and your pronunciation is perfect. and your videos are recorded at high volume, that's good. many thanks.
I am so glad I found your channel! I am a full time working mom, running my families construction business from home. I'm really considering homeschooling my 8 year old next semester and I'm loving all the working moms doing it all!
You totally got this!!!!!
I love knowing I can go to Evan Moore website to do full flip thru! I hate when I am interested in a curriculum but can't find a flip thru video or on a website. I'm also super interested in BookShark now...so I'm going to go check that out. Thanks for sharing your 2nd grade plans! I also have a curriculum problem 🤣 so I obsessively watch curriculum videos even after picking our stuff for the year. I'm also loving the white shelves behind you! 😊
Thanks so much for watching!!! Glad to know I’m not alone in my curriculum problem 😂 I plan on doing more in depth looks at all these individually over summer so that should help too!
Thanks for sharing 😽
Love seeing your picks. I love using the evan moore workbooks in our homeschool and definitely helpful when traveling or being at the grandparents house.
Thanks for watching! I’m excited to start using the Evan Moore books!
Thank you for the great info!
Of course! Thanks for watching ❤️
Great to see your choices. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
The part about Spelling You See and how it can be handwriting, spelling, phonics and grammar all in one made me go dig it out and try it again with my daughter for next year! It didn’t work for her this year, but she’s a year older now, so maybe it’ll work great🤞🏻 (I found your video by searching for grade 4 readers, I think I’ll try Bookshark) thanks!
I saw another UA-cam mom explain that way so I’m excited to try it out! And bookshark
Does sell just the book readers and schedule I believe- I am really excited to have a plan and specific readers so I’m not scrambling all year. Thanks for watching!
I love what you’re doing with bookshark I’m so curious to see if their is other programs that have books/corresponding discussion questions!
I would love to find that also! I would like a similar format but non history related books
🙋🏻♀️ I also have a problem with homeschool curriculum. 🤣🤣 Can’t wait to see the new level 2!!
I know me too!
I really like your channel because you work full time and homeschool. So many people on here are just SAHM, and while I like their content, so many times it does not mesh with what we have to do as working moms, i.e., waking up at 6am to get quiet time and all that. Ain't no working mom got time for that haha. It's just nice to know there are some moms doing homeschool while also having to work full time!
I am so glad you found me! I agree there are every few who work that’s one of the reasons I wanted to share my journey so more moms could relate ❤️ thanks for watching !
Love seeing another full time working homeschool mom!! There’s so few corporate working homeschool moms on YT! My kiddos are 5 and 3 so loving your content! Have you heard of Lightening Literature? I know you’re doing bookshark but seems like it may be a good in between of TG&B and bookshark so you maybe won’t need both?
Looking forward to your future videos!
Thank you so much for watching! I have never heard of Lightning Literature, but it now on my list to research! Thanks so much for sharing, I am excited to learn more about it.
@@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool there’s a few flip through and reviews on YT! My oldest is still in the “learn to read” phonics stage, but I’m fully eyeing lightening lit for reading comprehension, grammar, and composition when we’re done with our current learn to read program!
I’m doing the opposite of this since my daughter isn’t reading as advanced as yours. We will be starting 2nd grade in 2 months. My plan is to do Learning Language Arts through Literature 2nd grade + TGTB booster cards C with the readers to supplement. She did All about reading level 1&2 but she’s bored so I’m changing things up and praying for the best 😅
I’m so like you!
This is my main curriculum, and this is the one we will use twice a week and this is what we use when we get board…for each subject. 😅
Haha! Yep have to be flexible 😉 thanks for watching!
Great choices! :)
Thank you!
I need this exact same thing for a reading program for my second grader next year. She is also a very advanced reader, and I was looking for something like this. I wish it was still available but will be looking at your links to see if it's something I can piece together. Thanks for sharing!
The links will get this exact one for you with the lessons ❤️
@@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool Thank you! 💜
Hi! For TGATB Language Arts…is it possible to purchase and use only the reading portion? To they have a separate guide for reading or does it just say “read for 20 mins”?
There is no separate reading guide. They do have specific books that go along with the course, so the lesson would tell the child the read that book or read any book.
Bookshark has separate readers and reading guide with schedule/discussion questions that we enjoyed
My daughter finished 1st grade in public school, are the first books taught in school so I could move on to the second level for the first year homeschooling? I don’t want to purchase the first levels if it’s something she already learned and waisted the money on something she has knowledge of already.
I wouldn’t be able to answer that, every school is different. You can find the entire book list and see if your daughter has read them. Most curriculum companies have placement tests also so you can determine what to purchase.
If you had to do it over, would you still go with these picks? I've been watching some of your videos, and you say that you switch halfway through the year, but dont say to what or why. Unless I missed it.
If I had to do it over, no I would not use most this. I would of used Moving Beyond the Page ❤️
What would you recommend when teaching kids to start reading, i have two boys and its been hard , with my daughter everything seems so much easier and she has always been so advanced. Any recommendations my son is behind he’s not reading at his level
Im also using Evan moor 1st grade level just ordered 2nd grade
I am just starting this journey with my son! He is a much different learner than my daughters so we are just trying a bunch of resources and seeing what sticks for him. I just ordered the prek primer set from The Good and Beautiful as I heard great things about this prep book for starting to read.
I have lots of videos coming out soon about my sons learning to reading/prepping for kindergarten journey
Hi, I just subscribed to your channel
I see we have the same interest. I am looking forward to watch this episode. 😀
Yay! Can’t wait for you to watch! What age kids do you have? ❤️
@@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool I have an almost 7 and a 5year old.
@@thehudsonshub oh perfect!
Hi being a secular mom and from a different religion..
I want to ask you how much bible reference is in language arts 1 the good and the beautiful? I really want to use the good and the beautiful as it’s so colorful and comprehensive !
It’s pretty subtle, there are a couple writing assignments where it was writing about god but you could totally skip that. There are small references throughout but nothing crazy. I will say that their writing and history curriculum are much more heavy in referencing religion.
Also, they offer their language arts as a free download, maybe download and go through it before you actually purchase the hard copy. They are also redoing level one this summer so maybe hold out for that one too ❤️
@@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool yes I will do that
@@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool same with level two language arts ??
I really like the language arts and maths .
@@roseshah04 yes same with level 2! Their math is awesome no religion at all in that
I have a problem with buying homeschool curriculum 😅
Evan-Moor just switched their flip throughs and no longer offer the entire book.
Oh nooooooo! I guess I will need to start posting my own flip through.
I don’t get it ? A month ago you uploaded first year curriculum?
Am I the only one confused 😐
But I really liked your second grade curriculum choices and video is on the point!❤️
Sorry for the confusion! Since I just started my channel I was doing some back work, I shared our 1st grade choices that we had already been using for the 2021/2022 school year, this video is what we will be using for the upcoming school year. Let me know if that Makes sense ❤️
@@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool that’s great
I love love love your choices for this year ! I am going to buy some too
How old are your kids ?
@@roseshah04 9, 7, & 3
@@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool that’s great mine is six going in grade 1 . I will take your grade 2 choices for her grade 1 too .. we are in Dubai and it’s will be our second year of homeschooling! Loving it 😍
