    Just picked one up here in Colorado yesterday. I had a 2023 Zuma 125 that I loved but was just a little underpowered. This little ADV 160 had just the amount I was looking for to get around the hills of my areas. They gave me almost $3000 trade for the Zuma and I couldn’t pass it up. Awesome little scoot!

    The ADV 160 is a nice scooter, I've ridden it around Thailand for the last 3 months with zero problems. It has a fuel capacity of 8l not 30l lol. I get about 52km/l on the highway. I do regret not buying a Honda Forza 350 though.

    after trying out all the scooters, we bought a Yamaha NMAX 155. The boot isn't as big as the Honda ADV, but everything else is superior. Much more fun to ride. Better acceleration, easier braking, handling and above all stability. We set out to buy an ADV and ended up with a Yamaha NMAX! Test before you buy

      Here in Thailand, where they are assembled, it costs 3.100 dollar US. But at the moment you can't get one, waiting time is more than a month.
      One dealer (not Honda) offers them for 3.350 bucks, but I'm not sure if that's the 2023 model.

    I got one. Its a great bike. Couple odd fails though - There's no cable pass through for the USB port limiting its use - I drilled a small hole in the cubby to pass the cable through. The mirrors are totally useless for taller/wider riders. All I can see is my arms. I got some extenders, but hate the look, so ordered some different mirrors that will hopefully go out far enough. Rear suspension travel for 2-up is a bit low, but we are nearly at max weight 2-up so I don't fault that too much. Price in the USA compared to rest of the world stinks. Also, the USA bike only gets drum brake in the rear, so not only do we pay 2x, but its de-featured compared with elsewhere. It was close to ideal for what we wanted overall compared to other options though.

Yes, I think the U.S. is better for buying used bikes because a lot of times it's only ridden a few months out of the year because of the weather. General thoughts >
    Don't forget, the ADV 160 is a scooter pretending to be an ADV.
    I'm buying one in January, so I am not a big bike snob or a bighead .
    While there is a trend for many advertisers and manufacturers to call scooters ADV bikes, this is a nonsense. They are scooters not motorcycles . The Honda ADV 750, in my opinion, is still just a large-capacity scooter and I would never entertain having something like that. Different horses for different courses.
    Adventure motorcycles are large and heavy but powerful and comfortable, these bikes are usually in the range of 500-1200 cc or bigger;
    (some say as small as 400cc but I believe anything bigger than 1000cc should be called a pig, often its a very fat and heavy pig). ).
    Adventure bikes are great on-road and tolerable off-road. Aimed at riders who do high mileage and venture off-road occasionally, these bikes are capable of a weekend getaway or a two-year Round The World Trip.
    They handle very differently and are ridden in a different way than scooters are.
    How is a little automatic scooter, struggling to keep up with highway traffic, an ADV?.
    There is a recent trend for many advertisers and manufacturers to call scooters ADV bikes and this is a nonsense.
    Ride safe everyone. Always care well for your treasured machine, whatever it is!

      I rode my ADV 160 up to Bangkok(180 miles total) and back on the non toll highway, plenty fast enough it'll top out a little over 70 mph.

    • @AffyNoX
      @AffyNoX 2 місяці тому

      Yes, just a marketing gimmick, it is just a scooter with a slightly rugged look. Rode the Adv 750 in Borneo for a few days… it’s a “pig” and I don’t think will ever buy it. Done 7000+ km tour of Thailand on a 110cc moped, just as interesting compared to a 1200GSA, I took an old beaten Honda PCX 150 for a couple thousand km trim across Thailand.. it is just as capable. The Adv 160 do look interesting, and being an old bikers .. it is very light weight to me and most important its reliability and easy maintenance - hope this still holds true.
