I'm 6 ft 6in and I have the Honda ADV 150. What I did was bought some handlebar risers from Lazada to lift the handlebars higher so my knees are more comfortable. Plus I change the seat to a aftermarket flat seat so I can sit back a little farther and extra leg room for me.
Interesting, which aftermarket seat did you buy?
Thank you very much
Thank you for your opinion and análisis on the ADV Honda 160 I’ll keep all that in mind .
Is there no manual override on the ignition? I know that some other bikes have this
I have an adv 150 18000km on it so far in Vietnam no problems at all. The bike isn’t perfect but it’s excellent for this country. Yes my legs would like more space to stretch. I did extend the mirrors out. I know what my shoulders look like already. I will definitely buy another one.
As for that issue by your buttons:
I think someone needs to open the door next to the fuel button and use the key to tighten things up. Yes, there is a door next to that button that gives you access. 👍
About the keyless system... Did you try to change de key battery or to turn of the key after using the scooter to save it? I have a Nmax and sometimes I struggle with the same problem.
Excellent review thank you.
I will buy an ADV 160 when I move to Sagbayan Bohol in July. I'm only 5'11" and 150 pounds though. The cap not opening can be fixed by removing some metal from the catch on it. The remote not detecting does sound bad though. I may change the flyballs in mine from the stock 19 gram to 16 gram for more low end torque at the expense of a little top speed and mpg.
I have an N-max and I had the same problem as you regarding the seat and my height (182 cm..
I have modified the seat so that there is not that strange level jump in the middle of the seat; because that's where my bottom is. And then I can stretch my legs. I have also had some stronger rear springs retrofitted as I am a fully grown Viking.
In addition, I have a top box and side bags so there is room for things when I have been out shopping.
I think the 155cc is sufficient for driving up the mountains as well. I don't think it's a problem. But my N-max is not suitable for off-road. But I love the automatic transmission.
A very good Video . Thanks for making it . All the main points were covered . It helped me make a decision on a new scooter
Glad I could help
I bought the ADV 160 here in Thailand for 105,000 baht($3,000 USD)and I've taken it on 150km trips to Bangkok and back. I haven't had any issues with the key fob, fuel door or seat release button. The ADV is definitely made for smaller riders, I'm 5'10" 195lbs the bike is big enough but I can't stretch my legs but I understand I'm in Thailand it's really for shorter people than me. Gas mileage is excellent around 50km/l on highway. My only complaint is the plastic cover on the odometer scratches way too easy. I give the ADV 160 an 8 out of 10 especially since it's only 3k USD here in Thailand and/or Philippines. In the U.S. it's way over $4,500.
I will replace my ADV 160 with a Honda 350 Forza in 2 years. The Forza is the Rolls Royce of scooters for crowded countries like Philippines and Thailand. The Honda ADV 750 is too big imho.
Check out the Honda ADV 350 along with the Forza.
Thank you bro for honest review
I used to ride a Honda 125 in the Caribbean for many years. The first thing I changed was to replace the black seat cover with a silver-coloured one made of hard-wearing material, which protects the family silver.
Thanks. Great negative points. Cheap build quality on fuel door and latch release switch. Also I now believe the keyless feature is something to avoid as you could find yourself stranded.
Yes I hired a ADV for 12 days in Indonesia and was scared to stop in remote places to take pictures as I was worried bike wouldn't start again,no back up if it doesn't
Pcx160 remote works perfectly
Should have t4st that before buying
Great info
awww the key censor was a major turn off. Thanks for the review tho!
Interesting Video
Thanks for watching :-)
You can buy foot pegs that extend outside the floor boards that will allow you to stretch out your legs which would solve one of your issues. I use them on my click and it makes a world of difference. The key problem is a bummer and Honda needs to fix that ASAP. I know it's not a good solution but buying a new switch and gas lid/hinge would fix your problem until they wear out again as they should be inexpensive. You are right these things shouldn't be going bad after just 1 year for the most expensive scooter in the 160cc class. I don't have these problems with my older key start Honda click 155i. Good luck I hope Honda fixes these issues.
How long is the warranty on your bike? If it's still under warranty get it into the shop quick and get your problems repaired. If under warranty it should be free.
Absolutely true 👍
You can try an xmax..Its way way more comfortable than adv or you can also try x adv 750 for longer rides..
Do you think the ADV 160 is the same in Thailand? What’s the alternative to this bike? Tmax or Nmax?
I agree thats its too small . I have gone through 4 bikes now and finally settled on a tmax . Very expensive.
You can try an xmax
I have a Click 160 and have simular problems as you. BTW, nice photo of Charmi and my wife in Jagna...
This video helped me decide on my scooter purchase choices. Thank you.
Glad I could help!
Bro thanks for the honest review 👌💯
Always! :-)
I am also 6'2 amd finding myself extending my legs to release pressure in my knees and you can sit any other way because the seat is fixed in the position to allow two passengers rather than a long seat
Get a bigger scooter Herr Baba...
For most, it ticks all checkboxes and very practical.
Almost 1 yr here...no problem with remote...works all the time...15k kms run
xlnt information, thank you
I'm 6'2" and fit fine. We ride 2-up as my wife likes me to drive her around. Nice little scooter.
With regards to the keyless function, I think the problem seems to be the fact that when the bike is in locked position, the key fob needs to be pressed first in order for you to activate the selector knob and turn on the bike. With regards to problems with the ride position, there is no solution since the bike is obviously not designed for a person your size. After all, it is marketed for Asians. For the other concerns like the fuel lid, yeah it may seem flimsy but it is still made of hardy plastic that can take a lifetime of abuse. Over-all there is no problem with the bike except that it is not suited for persons of your size and need. It is suggested that you choose other local maxi scooters like Honda PCX 160cc, Yamaha NMAX 155cc or the bigger Yamaha XMAX. Thank you for the review and please enjoy your time here in the Philippines.
eg....get lost with your bullshite excuses. That gas cap cover is wobbly thus CHEAPLY built. U insulted the man by claiming he's not pressing the FOB.
the real insult is that the uploader took down every reply i make addressed to u. @@PRESIDENTTrumpisright

I love my 125 mlo. Im about 260 pounds. I been really looking at the 160 adv for upgrade.
Was this bike manufactured by Honda Thailand? Just curious. I love honda products and the ones made in Japan or USA are great but I had a bad experience with a CT trail 125 made in Thailand. (Cheap quality)
Thanks for the review . In the pictures it looks pretty good .
I was thinking of buying one in indonesia .
But after seeing this review i think im gonna look into some other scooters
Im 196 cm what would u recommend?
With the same qualities like the suspension large fuel tank and storage?
With kind regards,
Rob
Almost a year user here....no problem with gas and seat button...
My biggest issue is that beside some cheap parts the ADV still just has a single channel ABS... While for example the cheaper Nmax (here in Indonesia 5 Mio IDR) has a dual ABS and traction control since 2020! That's a big security disadvantage, the problem is you will just realize it when you need it... But then it could be too late.
Can you do a test when its dark? I'm interested if the front led lights are strong enough when its dark? In july i will rent the same motorbike for my trip in the Philippines.
i have been looking at these and was thinking of going to get one tomorrow. but what you say about it might change my mind. and i hate red but thats the only color i can find.
I watched your video here. I also have an Adv 160. I had the same problem you have with it not wanting to start. I figured it out. You have to pull harder on the left brake handle. It’s weird, seems like it doesn’t make sense. But it has started every time for me now. Just wanted to let you know what happened to me.
yeah but the problem is in my case every time the key doesnt connect to the bike I am even not able to turn the switch. the bike doesnt recognize the key :-(
I am 6ft 240 pounds. I just hit my first 500 km and I love it. I have had no issues so far and plan to add a top box and side boxes and make it a touring bike. The only issue I have is the seat, I constantly feel like I am sliding forward and would like a seat that maybe slants backwards a little more to keep me firmly in the seat.
yes they make the seat tilting downwards to accommodate short riders because majority are short
Position might be bettr 4 u on pcx160 very relax ..for long travel I have a car .
I think ADV 160 was not designed for 6 footers. I'm 5'6 and I feel very comfortable in the drive seat.
I am 170cm.....Do you think this wold be a good fit?
6ft 6in 130kg what was you thinking? GS 1200 for you.
When was the last time you visited a maintenance? I think it serves it purpose you always used it in very long ride and you are huge
Thank you for your feedback. Fortunately, there is not that many Filipinos that are 6'2" in height. I think that with your size, you should have gotten a bigger sized bike like the ADV 350 instead or the 750. I will not place the blame on the bike if it doesn't fit you.
The ADV350 is not available in the Philippines, as of right now?
A guy buys a pair size 40 Nikes, has size 45 feet and claims Nike is at fault. LOL
@@88SunsetStrip dumb analogy, bike doesn't have a size or limit and 188cm (6'2) is not much taller than average - 5'9
@@ForgotMyOrange The bike does have a size- wheelbase, seat height, etc. 6'2" is huge compared tp 5'9". My statement stands, un-refuted.
@@88SunsetStrip By describing 3 inches as "huge" he wins the argument, nice.
Hey Andre nice review do you need a motor license to drive it or is car license eneugh? In some places european car license is eneugh to drive like 150cc motor like that but i dont know about Philippines
I think it’s separate, they have codes to show if you can drive a certain Type
You can drive here in Philippines with your foreign driver’s license
So foreinger car driver license can drive motor there? And also also cc classes like 150cc+ ?
Dude you need a "BIG" bike😅
Great advice since I am a big guy as well and was considering the Click 160. Thanks for the great video!
Glad it was helpful!
Click 160 only has 1 rear shock... from other reviews I've seen; big guys say the click will bottom out over bumps.
I love it. I understand you bro. Would be perfect for me.
About the driving position I believe a Nmax should be more comfortable for you
Very funny in the part where the key sensor won't recognize.
I HAVE ADV 160.. the thing i hate about it is the front suspension. not strong and steady enough.
What motorcycle in the lower cc do you prefer then?
He needs an aerox
Nice vlog, totally respect your opinion brother, but you know every button has a life span especially if you are using them all the time and like a daily driver kind of motorcycle. For the keys not responding, all you need to do is just press the key in the remote, come on where you not oriented by the mechanic or the sales person where you got the Scooter? Lastly im also 6 feet, but you kinda heavier and in your case i think you need a bigger bike for the fit and to handle your weight. Just saying what great experience i have with the honda adv 160... ride safe always...
I believe the keyless probelm is a known issue with Honda scooters, widely experienced by many people, if you google it.
Hi. Still thinking about to buy an ADV 160, but I want to know: How is the light in night time?
Thanks guys.
the light is okay, but the high beam is not that good in my eyes :-)
I was stuck between a 2022 Burgman 200, 2023 PCX, this ADV 160, and I think after watching this the ADV is no longer an option.
Hi.. what quality bike is here in Philippines thar gives taller a better riding position? I think the NMAX is even worse.. thx
I’m 6’4 the Nmax is perfect! Very comfortable
@hasbulla415 I was on one siargao for I guess an hour straight.. and my butt hurt from the seat..but I'm sure they're better aftermarket seats out there
I am a biker. But here in the Philippines we bought a second hand Toyota Vios care as we are building and doing 40km a day. Once the house is built and we are living in it, I will also be looking to buy a second hand motorbike. Your reasoning makes sense. Well done
Andre, what you need is a real motor Cycle. Or a car. those bike's that you have, in the USA we call them scooters , not to many people here buy them.
I like it that you did a review because I was wondering how you were liking the bike. Good to get some of those points from an average user, and not a person who does reviews all the time. The plastic pieces on scooters seems to be cheaply made for most bikes. I’m buying a Honda in the next few weeks and the bike you have I was considering but for some reason you mention I will buy a less expensive bike
Do more motorcycle vlogs!!
Have you thought of buying a regular style motorcycle instead of a scooter? I ride regular motorcycles here in the United States and when I sit on a scooter I feel uncomfortable and unsafely out of balance. When it comes to a regular motorcycle I feel like I have better balance and more control over it as long as it's not too big to handle. Could be just cause I'm used to regular motorcycles.
On the other hand, some people prefer scooters
I agree you are way, way to big for this scooter.
Made for filipinos...average ht is 5ft4in...perfect
in short everything is good with the bike except the key fob issues
try the big brother X-ADV 750
i have a 2023 captain america in Thailand. all is well.
- wd-40 the fuel hinge.
- you are too bike for the bike. you should have bought the 350.
Big person, need bigger bike 😆 summary of the video before I even watched it
I really like this video, so I can better know what to look for when I move to PH next year. I think expats probably make the same mistake of just buying the coolest looking bike rather than researching which are actually best.
😅 Grazie ancora. 🌾
Andre love that review about the bike. I agree with you
i am glad you liked it :-)
I got the Honda 160 PCX because when i went to my honda shop where i do business they didn't have a ADV .I've had the 2018 model Nmax , we now have the Honda PCX , Click 125 and 2 TMX 150 with custom sidecars . My PCX is new , I've had it 5 months now and my gas lid is hard to open when i push the button i have to hold it and pull up on the lid to open . Check out the ADV 750
im 5'9 and thiers no problim with me ilove it verry comfortable
Thank you for your review, sir. Here in California, these bikes are outrageously overpriced.
I’m giving peak Honda and fey Meyers Honda an excellent service rating!😅
Thank you for the honest review.
My pleasure! :-)
Gute Review, danke fürs teilen, ich denke nach deinen Erfahrungen werde ich eher zum 160er Air Blade mit ABS tendieren.
You look like jack Reacher.. great review
is it a compliment ? ^^I dont know who it is :-D
Yes its a compliment..
Good review for those interested in the Honda ADV. That should help those unsure of what they should get. I am tall as well, and I do not like riding the scooters. I did not like my legs so high like you mentioned. I am used to riding a manual transmission motorcycle ,and the scooters don't handle the same as a motorcycle. For me I am going to get the Honda CB500X. It is already on order. 😀
Thanks for the review. These issues may be minor but it shows that this bike is poor in terms of quality. Too expensive for its quality.
As a rider of over 50 years and probably a couple dozen bikes, the most dangerous bike you can ride is one that is under powered. Fast enough to get you into trouble, but not fast enough to get you out of trouble with a twist of the wrist.
That's right, with enough power on hand you can keep a safe distance to the bigger ones.
It's a shame that it's not sold in Mexico 😔
I wish i can afford that 😂
Build some highway pegs. Problem solved
This was good vlog on motorcycles to help people pick motorcycle
Starts at 2:00
Very good and honest review but adv is designed more specifically for small asians...
$4499 in the USA
Cheap yet expensive: that's the impression i have with Honda bikes generally.
Honda made a water cooled aluminum frame 50 metropolitan that was a winner. Could not even hear it start or run. Of course it was discontinued.
hi ANDRE-----YOU A BIG GUY ;; MY BE A HONDA GOLDWING IS THE BEST FOR YOU ;;; LOL
AND MITSUBISHI PICK UP
@berndkopp6172 to be honest I like the Honda Goldwing but when it comes to touring bikes I prefer Harley (road glide) but Unfortunately I dont think here in Bohol is a Harley Davidson shop (mechanics) so yeah I think a Goldwing would be the better option. :-D
If ever my dreams comes true HAHAHAH
I was in Bohol last august and rented a t-maxx and oh my ass hurt after 1 hr.. I was hoping scooters I wouldn’t get ass sore with such large seat. I drove down that road aswell..just outside Anda..is a good ride into the hills and saw a dead python in the road.
Buy a bicycle, but not electric, a little excersize while you commute.
made in japan or china never last you need a sturdy bmw or truimph last for ever, but philippines not have wide choice i guess
Lol what are you smoking
better shit than you are @@AlexMAGA2024
Burgman 650 or Honda Silverwing for you buddy. You're way too big for any thing under 500cc's.
Kaufe ich mir hatt3 vorher pcx 160
You are too big for a 160cc motorbike. 120Kg man needs 250cc or more. The "cheap" fuel lid is not cheap, it is lightweight. Honda needed to cut weight everywhere possible to make it all work.
You could have bought bikes made in the US in conformity to your size , weight and preference. That bike was manufactured by asian and was intended for asian consumption. You will surely look stupid when you're astride on a bike like that with your bulk . Its digital parts will surely be affected due to your weight specially on long drive and you have a back rider.
Finding parts and repair services on made in USA bikes in Asian countries?
The cost and paperwork and registration etc issues to import a bike to the philippines is ginormous. Then he's stuck in a country with no parts. Dumb idea.
why are you in the middle of the road?
Why not ? 😅
@@thecrownsvlog you a dumb kid or what? Probably the same reason your bike is falling apart. And who would buy the same motorcycle anyway, so your video context does not make sense
Do you own that road?
It's a road in the middle of the jungle.... the road is a straight road for 3 kilometers everyone was able to see me and the road is barely used because
That road connecting a small 10 house village with the city... no ones drives there just the people they are living the small village, And they know me.
So I don´t get your point... anyways
greetings from the dumb kid
