  • Join Sporty's Pilot Shop for an in-flight test of the new Icom A25 hand-held NAV/COM/GPS radio.
This new Icom radio combines the latest Bluetooth technology with a powerful Com transmitter. The menu interface and large 2.3” LCD display make the A25 simple to operate. Choose between two versions to best fit your needs, the A25N NAV/COM/GPS or A25C COM only.
    Visit www.sportys.com... for more information.
Built-in GPS and Bluetooth® have redefined navigation in the new A25 series. Design flight plans with an iOS™ device using a free app and import them into the A25 with the Bluetooth℗ feature. While using GPS, the waypoint NAV will guide pilots to their destination. Up to 10 flight plans and 300 waypoints can be stored in the A25. The VOR mode will display a CDI and OBS with a TO/FROM indicator.
    A25N/A25C Features Include:
    • Built-in GPS & Bluetooth (A25N only)
    • Powerful 6 watts (PEP)
    • Easy-to-use menu interface
    • Large, easy-to-read LCD screen, w/ night mode

You list on the feature screen near the end of the video that it has Localizer feature. I can't find anywhere to confirm it has Localizer CDI or Glide Slope indication. Can you confirm if this feature has been added or if it was an error on the slide?

I'm dumbfounded that you didn't talk about the audio quality transmit or receive.

Especially using it over bluetooth, for a wireless experience. Too many cables.

@@PatPrice123 I have the radio and my main use is actually getting ATIS at home or in the car before I even get to the plane. So for me, reception quality / sensitivity is key. The GPS / FPL function is basically garbage. However the radio is excellent. Way better than Yaesu or SP-400.

Can I program frequencies through the app or computer? Or do I have to hand input them one at a time?

Looks similar to the ID-51A HAM Radio, at least building quality and some design features.

Seems that Icom has abandoned the mobile apps. They have not been updated since 2017.

    Hello buddy,
I have a question, I live in the second floor from an apartment,I am wondering if ICOM 25N can get the signals ? From here ! I tried to listen to frequencies from home but didn’t work at all ! Can’t hear anything and I am not sure where the problem is ! I just got this thing !

I want a handheld aviation radio that I can grab when I'm hanging upside down in a tree with two broken legs and a concussion in a blizzard and press a button and can get rescued. What is the best radio for that, and I'm not joking. Many thanks.

YAESU VERTEX FTA 550 has a big, red button you press and takes you to 121.5 If I was only going to get one thing for your situation it would be a PLB like ACR RESQLINK 406. It's GPS based and tells not only where you are but who you are.

I second the ACR PLB recommendation. ResQLink or ResQlink+ (which floats)
