I bought one on Ebay with two batteries, ptt and headset adaptor, case cover, two cigarette chargers, one 120 stand charger, and manuals for $200.00.. absolutely love this radio..flew to a few vor's with it and tracked it against Garmin Pilot and the tracking heading was spot on! Love the video man! I have this same radio and it works fantastic, a little confusing to program.
Well the icom a120 is the best mobile and the new icon A25N is the smoothest performer since the A22 HT, but if you recomend any am band radio tell the people to use it out side near airport and if not use a 22 inch whip antenna on car roof,, remind those not involved with aviation respectfully should not own an airband transceiver,121 5 is very active FAA FCC are very much alive......stay oof unless in trouble with aircraft.....
I agree. Anyone who simply wants to listen to aviation radio traffic should just buy a scanner. The same goes with any other radio service.

What external antennas do you like for aircraft? I only have a Diamond 70m/2m on the balcony and a Wilson 1000 on the roof. Was thinking of maybe a DIY J-Pole or something. Dunno, I'm new to all this, but I'd love to get stronger signals from aircraft and towers. Thanks for the vids.
The Radio traffic from another state may have been bouncing off a repeater , not necessarily a long range signal.
I'm just learning about them so I could be mistaken.

hi buddy , i would like to know if i can install this handheld radio on my cessna 150 which doesnt have any radio or transponder , i would like to know if the battery will not last while im flying whith this radio thank u for the answer
Please could you help identify a problem with my same radio: The reception is cut intermittently every 5 sec and the Rx sign disappears for an instant. Equal intervals. Strangely, reception is OK on Wx channel and on the emergency channel when dialed by the red emergency button. When I dial the same 121.5 by hand it starts to interrupt. Very strange… Thanks!

I have a question, I live in the second floor from an apartment,I am wondering if ICOM 25N can get the signals ? From here ! I tried to listen to frequencies from home but didn’t work at all ! Can’t hear anything and I am not sure where the problem is ! I just got this thing !
I have a PSR-800 - will the IC-A24 give me better reception for any reason?

Hey bud!! Was wondering if you could help..have a icom A14 but having trouble getting range...aircraft would literally be on the ground and can not either hear them or talk back until about 500 yards out if that..maybe antenna or is radio shot
