There’s a game store in my town, and instead of selling the games outright, they put the cases on the shelves and if you want to buy it you take it to the front, pay for it, and while you’re paying they put the disc in the actual case so if someone wants to steal anything it’s just gonna be a case
We don't do this because we take our inventory to sell at conventions, and it doesn't work to either put the games in the cases for the weekend, then empty them back out, or take our entire disc storage with us. Too much extra work unfortunately

If you didn't, I would have banned the 2nd guy too, because he could have been the original one who stole from you. They're could even be 5 or 10 people in their little group of thieves. One person steals an item, while another person sells it. That way, if people are on the lookout for the original thief, they may not pay any attention to a completely different person selling the items. Plus, you create reasonable doubt that you knew the items were stolen if you ever get caught during the sale.

I'll admit, I used to be a pretty avid shoplifter, several thousand dollars at least over a couple years. I did inevitably get caught and pay the consequences, as greed is every thief's weakness. It wouldn't surprise me if the guy that originally stole from you just flipped them for a few bucks to the first guy, who just looked up "where to sell retro games," came to your store (and went to GameStop), and when he realized he wouldn't be able to sell them, just flipped them for a few bucks to the next guy who did the same thing.

Ah… that’s why 360 prices are surging… the store was closed. Doesn’t impact me - I collect for PS3 but good to know. They’ll close the PS3 store at some point.
Not that I'm giving tips, but you can't be too bright to try and sell items you stole from a stole, back to them and have them not realize - generally stores keep an inventory of stolen items, once they scan them back in for the trade, they'll be flagged as stolen. Either this person stole it from you directly, or bought it from the person that did (particularly if they were stolen only a few months back, highly doubtful they would have passed through more than 1 set of hands at that point).
I was just thinking why would you go back to the same store you stole from and try to sell the same games back and then you said it Coop. Criminals are not the smartest people out there. I'm sure there are more people that steal from you but you just don't know about it. It's just a part of owning a store. If I were you, I would do inventory more often.
I get it will never completely detour people from doing sketchy and sleezy stuff like this - but man how dumb to you got to be to not only steal something from a store, but also try to sell it back to the SAME store. Like come on dude. Hope things work out and you get back/compensated for the stuff stolen, and at the very least bring awareness to other businesses around the area to be on the look out for this person.

I worked loss prevention at a major retailer for a while and in the training one of the most common things they see is people shoplifting items and then bringing them back in to return them for cash or store credit. This was at a time when receipts weren't required.
Would it be allowed for you guys to take their ID and set the stuff in the back for "testing" and call the cops if there's a lot of suspicion that it's stolen?
@@DoubleJumpVideoGames that's fair, I wouldn't hesitate to call if there was a reason to believe the stuff was stolen, just so they know what's going on, the type of people who do this aren't usually just doing it at one store, so odds are the police might already know about them.
One way to know someone is likely a shoplifter, they are always going to try to conceal their identity as much as possible usually wearing a hat or hoodie, baggy clothes and they tend to carry a backpack. Now, why would anyone walking into a store with a backpack on? I would never allow anyone into my store if they have a backpack on
Well, I can only speak from my experience but I don't have a car. I tend to either take uber or walk everywhere and carry a backpack to carry stuff in. I have no problem giving my backpack to the owner or manager behind the counter which is done in places like Family Dollar. This isn't the case most of the time anyway as I get it from the manager's perspective.

People like that just hate on stuff to make themselves feel better. Sometimes they’re just repeating someone else, due to a lack of original thoughts, and ideas. There are clear comparisons to be made between PlayStation and XBox, but PC will always be better- I mean you can mod games in so many ways, and add things that make it more fun for you, or friends. I don’t have a PC yet, but one day, then gaming will never be the same (and I’m using a controller, screw a keyboard/mouse) As a kid I had PS1 & 2, but as a teen I had an Xbox360: the special shiny black one, with the chrome bits - yeah - I powered it on one day, and everything was reset as if I had never used it before. 7+ years of gaming and content, gone in one night. Went back to PlayStation and never looked back. Xbox has better processing speeds in some cases, but I’ve never had a PlayStation crap out on me, especially like that XBox did.
There are a few exceptions like Batman: Arkham Origins, Sonic Generations, 50 Cent Blood in the Sand, & Enchanted Arms that are BC but not sold digitally.
Yeah I own one of those 360 games and I bought it back in the day for 40 I played in a few weeks ago again and they're definitely was selling digitally for 15 Xbox so I feel bad for the person that bought the game physically for almost a hundred bucks
Don't give curtesy to people who are literally taking from you and still trying to con you. Don't blur the faces; your community and the gaming community in general shouldn't take this. Also when speaking to these thief's, don't put them on game on how you know its stolen. Tell em "This is stolen and give it back or Im calling the police". No bargaining and explaining how you know (your stores artwork on it). Ill respect how you handle your store. Its your name and your money but these people are cold and sometimes desperate. THEY DO NOT CARE THEY ARE ON CAMERA OR CAUGHT. They just want the up on you. Nonetheless, enjoy the vids :)

Either this person stole it from you directly, or bought it from the person that did (particularly if they were stolen only a few months back, highly doubtful they would have passed through more than 1 set of hands at that point).
Reach is probably the best game in the series shame on you Cooper !
I was just thinking why would you go back to the same store you stole from and try to sell the same games back and then you said it Coop. Criminals are not the smartest people out there. I'm sure there are more people that steal from you but you just don't know about it. It's just a part of owning a store. If I were you, I would do inventory more often.
Mortal Kombat Double Jump Edition the games or your life choose your destiny
Those big yellow stickers really make it a nice touch. They really pop 5:00 eye catching
Zero tolerance for thieves….boils my blood.
That sf2 game was my life as a teen...
Halo reach was one of the best games out of all of them
I get it will never completely detour people from doing sketchy and sleezy stuff like this - but man how dumb to you got to be to not only steal something from a store, but also try to sell it back to the SAME store. Like come on dude. Hope things work out and you get back/compensated for the stuff stolen, and at the very least bring awareness to other businesses around the area to be on the look out for this person.
You bricked Colton
You guys should carry pepper spray or anything that you guys can carry for self defense. You just never know with these weirdos
there are a few anime in this video i'm quite interested in but can't find on the website
check back soon, still working through some issues to get them up
Sad no one respects or talks about the panasonic 3do these days.. Was a fun system for a hot minute.. literally. 😅 I do Loss prevention and security and sadly I literally know what you guys went through.. dealt with that exact scenario a dozen or more times a easy tell-tell is, well, he’s carrying all his personal possessions.. either steals and resells for drug money or something else…
Also you cant really warn people cause you blurred out his photo If it was me I would have posted that full on lol.. people should know when you enter a public place of biz you ARE being recorded.. we post photos all the time.. warning other stores.. dont feel bad about it.
I am sad you guys are only in Washington
Do you have DBZ bt3 for Wii ?
A guy has to be really stupid to try to sell stolen items TO THE STORE HE STOLE THEM FROM
I worked loss prevention at a major retailer for a while and in the training one of the most common things they see is people shoplifting items and then bringing them back in to return them for cash or store credit. This was at a time when receipts weren't required.
Would it be allowed for you guys to take their ID and set the stuff in the back for "testing" and call the cops if there's a lot of suspicion that it's stolen?
suspicion I dont think is enough to call the cops, because then its really bad if you're wrong. If we are suspicious, we just turn stuff away.
@@pypy9202 Same here. Didn't have a car for years and often went to our local electronics shop before I went shopping, since they were both in the same mall.
@@rexrabbiteer some people don’t have cars dude
It would be years before I was comfortable to carry my bag in a store drove mom crazy cause I always felt like I was going to steal something if I did I wear hats because my eyes are sensitive to bright lights even more after that 20 extra long minutes wait when they were widen the highway but I would happily let someone check my bags if they were suspicious and don't complain when someone asks for ID before mom passed I actually looked like a 15 year old even in late 20s especially with long hair short aged me up more by a few years lost mom year turned 29 to cancer
Much respect for Ryan and losing weight. We notice the hard work you have been putting in.
LOL for 400 bucks for that CIB SNES and its yellowed...
My guy must be pretty strong to lift an entire shop.
Im not gonna play like im perfect and never done something wrong myself..BUT i also grew out of it, I wasnt an adult either. Having said that, Adults that shoplift are the bane on society. Heaven forbid they get jobs and earn their way...Hurting the little guys out there especially like your store. BUT technically hurting everyone because the more the shoplift the higher the prices go..AND also in some cases the more stores that close down..
....I won't lie bud, it's a bit weird seeing you guys peddle mystery boxes. I haven't yet seen a company that doesn't use them to just offload horsesh*t that doesn't sell. Mystery boxes always fall into the company's favor.
Us. We are the company that doesn't do that. Watch any of our videos where we show the mystery box. Watch anyone's unboxing. Its literally catered to what they request.
@@DoubleJumpVideoGames I have responded several times but I think because of my use of adblockers (sorry not sorry YT) that the reply function doesn't work as intended. I've changed my stance watching the whole video, I hope you see my other comment lamenting how I'm sad a shop like yours isn't around my area on the east coast.
I think you'll see more of this kind of stuff but probably not as brave as a guy trying to sell product you already own back to yourselves. A nice little RPG bundle you made there. I boycott Xbox/360>, don't see the point of them for myself. Probably would have bought the Mario RPG snes game myself. I should go to your website more.
usual suspect
come on man what’s with the xbox hate why everyone hate on xbox
@@CarpetCloser think about it man not that hard to realize
People like that just hate on stuff to make themselves feel better. Sometimes they’re just repeating someone else, due to a lack of original thoughts, and ideas.
There are clear comparisons to be made between PlayStation and XBox, but PC will always be better- I mean you can mod games in so many ways, and add things that make it more fun for you, or friends. I don’t have a PC yet, but one day, then gaming will never be the same (and I’m using a controller, screw a keyboard/mouse)
As a kid I had PS1 & 2, but as a teen I had an Xbox360: the special shiny black one, with the chrome bits - yeah - I powered it on one day, and everything was reset as if I had never used it before. 7+ years of gaming and content, gone in one night. Went back to PlayStation and never looked back. Xbox has better processing speeds in some cases, but I’ve never had a PlayStation crap out on me, especially like that XBox did.
all the halo games and every other Backwards Compatible 360 game can still be purchased on XB1 and Series X|S stores
There are a few exceptions like Batman: Arkham Origins, Sonic Generations, 50 Cent Blood in the Sand, & Enchanted Arms that are BC but not sold digitally.
Yeah I own one of those 360 games and I bought it back in the day for 40 I played in a few weeks ago again and they're definitely was selling digitally for 15 Xbox so I feel bad for the person that bought the game physically for almost a hundred bucks
you can rip on xbox all you want but 360 shat on the ps3
Yikes! $180 for The Secret of Mana!!!! I got 聖剣伝説2 for $4… thank God for Japanese! ❤
We blurred the faces because we didn't actually see who stole the games, only who brought them in. Obviously we think the first guy stole them himself, but we can't know that 100% for sure.
@@DoubleJumpVideoGames I get you. Hes not the theif. Maybe. LOL but hes for sure the scammer.
Everybody knows god of war is better than ass creed
I keep noticing an annoying loud super high pitch sound in my ears when i watch the video.
FIRST RULE OF THUMB, when you see a sketchy person that's clearly a drug addict who has his worldy belongs in a rolling suitcase wearing a black hoody and a dirty knapsack the WRITING is on the WALL! Moral of the story be more vigilant of who is entering your store and make sure to greet everyone so you can gauge the situation better. That way you can stop it before it even starts!

Just get some cameras man!
? We have plenty of security cameras
