The switch may not be broken. A lot of times the switch is powered off instead of the 'sleep mode'. Try holding down the power button for 12 to 20 seconds and then quickly start pressing the button about 5 times.
Even if it IS broken, a lot of the time the problem seems to be a shorted out video chip. Any competent repair shop (see channel TronicsFix here on UA-cam) could probably fix that pretty cheap, and although that would of course hurt the resale value, it might actually still be worth it.
Like scenario for the switch - someone had their original switch die on them so they bought a new one and sent the dead one back as return. I would highly suggest others not try to do this because there are ways to know when a specific item was manufactured and when that specific item was sold.

Just a heads up before you sell the switch for parts. Try doing a hard reset. If you hold down the plus/minus buttons while holding down the power button it resets the switch. (Or look it up to double check.) but yeah they have a history of locking up and acting like they’re dead but if you reset them they’ll work like new!

You can use the router if you disable the wifi on your verizon router, put it in bridge mode, then connect the netgear router and use that for your wifi and hardwired devices. I used to have verizon and a nighthawk and had that set up for 3 years. My verizon router was garbage so that's how I figured it out. Cheers!
@@randomfrankp I used to. The verizon router would effectively still work just not be putting out a wifi signal and forwarding all of the internet traffic to your netgear router which in my case gave me faster speeds. If you have a decent verizon router it may not make much of a difference.

I'm gonna be the total outlier here and say that the room you're filming in (which looks to be either a well finished basement which finds itself half above ground and half underground or a "not totally meant to be used" ground floor) looks absolutely cozy and a perfect place to shoot in given all the daylight that pours in naturally. You could probably film your videos on a potato and they'd look good with that kind of lighting.

The 'Belkin charger' is used to charge and listen at the same time, the ones which have a charging port and a 3,5mm audio jack on it are usually terrible. And the 'SSD' you have bought is a SD-RAM stick, usually meant for smaller PC's and laptops, it looks like it's DDR2 even, which, depending on the size and whether is ECC is useless. Looking at the flash chips at the back and the fact it doesn't have any name printed on the PCB itself makes it worth nothing.
