- Welcome back to Unloaded! The series where we blindly bid on Amazon tech returns and get to see what the value is versus what we paid. The catch is, I have no clue what is all included in the box, nor would we know the condition. It can be brand new, it can be broken, busted, or just an empty box. That's the fun of it. Enjoy!

This series is awesome! I'm glad it's back!
I can't believe it's been that long that seems impossible lol well glad it's back!
USB-C DisplayPort alt-mode isn't always supported on anything with a USB port, laptops you're more likely to have it supported and pretty unlikely to have a given usb-c port on your desktop fully support it unless it's right off of the GPU and even that can be a coin flip
Precisely. When he said “needs DP alt mode, which obviously my computer supports” I wanted to scream at him through the monitor. It is EXTREMELY unlikely to have a working DP alt mode port unless you have a Type-C port on your GPU, and even then not always the case. He needs to test it on a windows laptop that specifically mentions support for DP alt mode and it should function just as quickly and easily as the MBP without drivers needing to be installed.
Was just coming down to say this, but wanted to give a quick scan to see if anyone beat me to it. Ran into this with one of my laptops!
This is awesome! Mystery unboxing was where I found your channel, and where I got into the tech space as a whole. 4+ years and five PC builds later, :-) :-) :-)
Where do you get those boxes?
I NEED MORE OF THESE VIDEOS! I'VE BEEN MISSING THEM! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Ive missed these vids Frank! Should be a monthly episode!
Loved this series, excited to watch this return
I recently picked up the HS65 FOR $50. Absolutely worth picking up, 7.1 surround sound, customizable EQ settings, amazing audio quality for the price I got it at.
Say that in a month or 2. I have 1. Broke after a few weeks.
Thank you for bringing this back
Always good to see one of your videos drop Frank.
The best series ever !!!! I love it a lot
I missed these. These are what got me to subscribe.
I have that ASUS monitor. I use it only with my laptop for a second screen on the road. I have not tried it on a desktop, but I never had to install anything on my laptop. I plug it into my Thunderbolt 4 port and use a separate TB4 cable for it. It's still a good monitor if you intend to use it for a laptop.
Its very likely that the port Frank used was not a display-alt USBC port based on the error message he mentioned. I wouldnt assume it doesnt work with windows but rather the port thats needed is rarely available in most PCs. Im guessing you plugged it into a windows laptop with the required port. Hence it worked.
And is yours a windows laptop or mac?
I like the idea of the portable monitor, I always needed an extra monitor that I can port with me and have it handy on the side as an extra monitor
One of your original videos in this series was the first thing I ever saw on your channel and I'll let you know, I still love it. I also remember you saying you used to put out a box of free stuff after these at your old apartment with stuff you couldn't test or weren't worth selling which was cool.
This is pretty cool and can tell the series would be good!
to test the modem you can plug it in to power then take an extra laptop and use an Ethernet cable to connect to it. the manual will tell you what ip address to put in the browser and the username and password, as long as the modem powers on and you can get to the GUI it should be fine. my guess why they are returned is it would not work with the person's ISP
Ohh I miss this series. Good to have it back!
How do u find those boxes or any tips when looking to buy those boxes?
Thank you ❤😂 your comments abou you staging items hahahahahahaha 😂 Keep up the good videos
Going to be in that Whatnot forsure!!!
The monitors work just fine. The manufacturer doesn't do a good job explaining how it should be used. The usb c port you are connecting it to doesn't not carry a display signal. Very very few motherboards support that. On a windows laptop it would only work on a thunderbolt port, on a macbook all any type c port, it would even work on the type c of most modern flagship phones.
The Pixel led panel is sweet. Would be great for my kids desk!
This was why I joined your channel, I knew if I just held out a little longer (5 years 😮) I’d see more lol
Hell yeeeeeeah! I miss this series!
What can I say, I missed this... writing this before I watched whole vid, here's hoping for a good haul Frank lol
Thats sick bro, lots of love.
These videos were how i originally found your channel. Nice throw back
Love the videos ❤
The issue is that the MacBook supports “USB-C DP Alt-Mode" (or possibly the HDMI variant which is rare) and your PC doesn’t, because USB-C is not a standard, it’s a collection of standards. Display link is technology that produces a display over regular USB 2.0 and is SLOW - should be avoided. Note, unless your graphics card has a USB-C connector which you are using, or your motherboard has Display Port *IN* connectors next to the USB-C ports and you have them connected, your PC does NOT support USB-C DP Alt Mode. USB-C sucks (just less than the other “standards”). Summary: It’s a hardware problem.
Yup, and the bigger issue is that ASUS own drivers don't work for this model either
They can’t work, the hardware on your PC doesn’t support "DP Alt Mode”, and I suspect the screens don’t support display link because it’s um… crap.@@randomfrankp
It can work on a PC though. You'll need a DP In port or a CPU with an iGPU and not having it disabled in the BIOS. I have a Wacom tablet that connects over USB-C DP-ALT and it works perfectly on my Windows PC. But you should at least check if your motherboard and cpu support it.
There are also special hubs that can inject DP into USB-C. But I don't know if those would work.
@@randomfrankp It won't work on your PC by adding drivers, because that's not the issue. The issue is literally your motherboard or CPU doesn't support this on a hardware level. It's a basic monitor with just a singe USB-c in port instead of a separate power+DP/HDMi port. There's no displaylink chip inside it. DP alt mode is hardware level where some of the pins inside the USB-C port is used as displayport lanes connecting to the GPU, instead of data lanes. Displaylink works by the program on your PC to send the info via data lanes, then there's a chip on the other end to turn data into image. No Displaylink chip, hence Displaylink drivers dont work. To make it work with your PC, you literally need to have either a GPU with a USB-C output, or a motherboard with a USB-C port that specifically supports DP-alt mode AND a CPU with integrated GPU. I am not sure if a Thunderbolt PCI expansion card will work, but TB ports are supposed to have DP alt mode as part of the spec. On laptops, the screen will work on any laptop with a Thunderbolt or USB 4.0 port. There are a some laptops with DP-alt mode on USB 3.2 ports though, but many don't have that.
@@randomfrankpreasons why motherboards with usb4 out require a dp in from your GPU. A gpu with a usb C port would also work (for like VR headsets).
Amazing video keep up the amazing work 🥰👍
AFTER YEEEEAAAAARRRSSSS IT’S BACK!
I have an older version of those Asus portable monitors, which I also happened to get from a liquidation warehouse. Mine plugged into my windows laptop and worked no problem. All my usb ports are 3.0 or higher. And I have a lightning usb-c port too, but the only cable that came with my portable monitor is usb 3 type A on one end on the other end the usb end I have only seen on portable hard drives. It has that combo / side by side plug that does power and data at the same time.
@RandomFrankP did you initially plug the cable into a usb 2.0 or 3.0 port???
zen screens work fine with literally everything other than windows rn 😂
What a throwback!
5 years!!!! Holy cow!!! I feel like that was yesterday!!!!
LETS GOOO! i started doing this a couple years ago after being inspired from the previous episodes haha.
Where do you get them?
@@Mkld96 There's a local liquidation auction warehouse for me
What is the website you bought the mystery box for? And also what was the website used to check the recommended prices that you used?
Keep doing more!!
Here's what I would like to know....Where can I buy one of these return bundle boxes for myself?!? Can you please provide a link??
yo ive missed this series 😭
love these. how would i go about getting a returns box? where would i go
I use those monitors with roku boxes and portable batteries for cheap, large streaming tablets.
yeahh. this series is back.
I could definitely use one of those surfboards to replace the aging one that we have to rent from xfinity. Even one of those screens for gaming
I have the exact same model of the monitor and it works with my MacBook Pro M1 Pro and with a Windows laptop (a HP Omen model) without any issue nor driver installed. I think it's a PC issue. Great video and awesome products
Where do you buy these from? Awesome video as always ❤
i have a portable monitor like this one (not Asus so this might be completely useless information) and it also worked perfectly fine when i connected it to my laptop (windows) through usb-c but it didn't work with my PC. i think you need to make sure that the usb-c port you're using supports displays. When i used HDMI to connect it it worked perfectly fine on my pc but i had to use usb c port to power it.
It's back!!!!
You are a real professional when it comes to keyboards. I really need the advice of a very knowleadgable person in keyboards.
I bought the razer huntsman mini and then I heard of the woothing 60e.
I want to say that I have really low experience with expensive keyboards but for whatever reason my vulcan roccat tkl feels nicer and more premium on touch - could be the back, the case etc, maybe its because its plastic and its more user friendly? than the razer huntsman mini. (i have the purple switches on my razer and no analog ones atm) - paid 120$ for it
My question is, if I buy the woothing do you think it will be a change in percieved build quality since I head its made by plastic? Is it worth doing the upgrade? The most important things for me is performance and build quality. (woothing is 180$ in my country) - I am really sorry for the off topic but I think it helps you with the algorithm too
Frank I still see some having the same issue with those Zen portable monitors did you ever get that issue solved? People are running into this issue when trying to use it with the Dex feature on Samsung products
hey Frank! Ill buy one of those modems if you want to get rid of it my current one sucks lol
Please let us know when you sell the surfboards, my family and I are in desperate need of one of those exact ones you got.
wow this box got a lot of goodies!
Bids are about to get higher now that all of us know about this website now 😅
it was this kind of content that led me to follow you years ago
How do you order 1?
Only $180?! I would absolutely try that! Where does one get these boxes?
Yeah where does one get such a deal!
I have never clicked a video so fast, I remember you doing this in your apartment
You lowkey hide the monitor with other products 😁
How do you get return boxes? This seems kinda fun
I'm glad unloaded is back, it's been too long.
the walk in
I have the surfboard more 5+ years now pretty solid af
Wait a minute that stuff is here in Vegas where do I go to check it out hmm.
those zen screens are epic for samsung dex
If the screens are USB c to USB c your PC motherboard needs to support dp alt mode. Most desktop PCs do not support video out over USB c. Laptops usually do as they expect you to plug an external monitor in. Driver's will NOT help nor will software. I ran into the same thing with xreal air glasses.
What’s the name of the website you got this from? Also, do they ship?
This is also how I found your channel!
Where do you find these return bids? Are they on amazon?
I like your channel and your honest reviews, but this one is different.
I've actually wanted to try something like this for myself.
Sadly all the reviews for this website call it a big scam... That they paid for something shown in photos and received something completely different and broken, despite the items being listed as "RETURNS" and not "SALVAGE"..
Where do u even get these pallets from amazon returns
Where could you bid on boxes like these?
Frank the Surfboards should go for $20 each as is without issue. Beats paying the cable company $10+ a month
where do you even get these "amazon return" boxes...
R u using the Dji pocket 3 to film?
What usb c port are you plugging in to? No case usb c ports are dp alt ports. Only the motherboard may have dp alt ports, and thats a maybe. Case ports are data/charge ports, not video dp alt. Dp alt ports are generally for portable devices like asus ally/steam deck, and laptops, not desktops, so im sure thats "the issue"
How do you find these? I want to bid on these things.
Are you in the most recent RossCreations video, some seconds after 1:00, around 1:07?
ITS BACK
Omg....I can't believe the last one was FIVE YEARS ago?!?!
What liquidation site do you use?
Those little monitors don't like to display on PCs with multiple monitors. They always work on a laptop tho.
Damn, i cant believe its been 5 years. It doesnt feel like its been that long since i watched one
A physical store that does the same thing is bargain lane
No joke I glimpsed and thought it was Canelo.....
I mean if the monitors are for apple only, you should be able to double their asking price it's just a feature for them
USB C DP is not the same as just a USB C data port. It would go plugged into a laptop or a gpu.
Where can you buy these return packages ?
It’s been a while since you released this type of video❤👍
I cant believe I missed this! Your content is great, but it feels like youtube just refuses to recommend this stuff.
what website did you use for this box
How do you bid on these things?
The minimum shipping on a lot of this is 100+ (take that with a pinch of salt though it might be looking at my uk location lol)
frank ill buy those network stuff.
i need them for my house
Where can I bid on them
That's massive.
Does someone knows How I can do the same?
What to search?
Where to buy??
HAS IT BEEN THAT LONG!?!?!?!?!? NOOOOOOOO
How do you go about getting this mystery box.
