My CRV has recently started burning oil very fast and I am scared because I’m not finding any leaks anywhere and I’m consuming about a quart Oil every 750 miles to 1000 miles

Why are people having issues with this OEM GENUINE PCV valve totally snapping in half when installing them with no where near the recommended foot pounds? Makes want to get a aftermarket one.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone If you go to the Amazon reviews, it's mentioned a few times, with pictures- for the OEM Genuine 17130-RBB-A01. It's pretty much hollow and one Amazon reviewer said the wall is only like 3mm thick and another said it broke at 19 ft lbs. (recommended 33 ft lbs seems excessive) I've even read that some had the same issue when removing the original one. When I do mine, I'm going to soak the original with penetrating fluid before hand.

@@rgraz4929 Just replaced the PCV valve on my '13 CRV and had no issues removing the old or installing the new. Removing the hose clip was the hardest part due to the downward orientation. I bought the same OEM valve on Amazon as OP linked. Torqued it down to 33 ft lbs and all went well...took all of 10 minutes.
@@shingdao7 Good to hear. Thanks. I'm too scared to torque to 33 ft lbs after reading those reviews that many snapped. Was the Amazon seller MTQ or Acme? Any other advice? I assume you didn't use anti-seize. Thanks.
Thank you for making this video and all your other videos. You have helped me a lot with doing my own maintenance.
Thanks
So helpful I have a 14 crv that is starting to burn thru oil… I hope this helps
I’m in the same boat…any luck?
Where is the other end of the pcv valve hose?
What size is the crush washer? 20mm?
14mm inside diameter, 22 mm outside diameter. Standard Honda oil plug crush washer

Can someone please help me or send me in the right direction?
Probably piston rings. But could be a valve seal. I would start by having your valves properly adjusted and replace the PCV valve.
