  • How to replace PCV valve of Honda Odyssey 2008 to 2020 to reduce oil burn issue in Honda Odyssey. Oil consumption issue just started at 135,000 miles and based on my experience with Honda Accord oil burn issue, changing PCV valve or Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve can help reduce oil burning.

Thanks for sharing, i have a 2006 Honda Odyssey. 246,800 miles in the original engine and transmission and its still running strong. I have to change out my pcv valve but it got stuck inside the valve cover . Going to the parts store to grab a pick set to pull it out. Hope you have a great day

247K is quite a bit of miles! Awesome. If by 'stuck' you mean PCV valve is not coming out, this happened on my 2013 accord and I used a blunt knife to get in the narrow space where PCV valve meets the engine, inserted blunt knife and just pushed the valve out.

Would this cause bad oil consumption? I am curious because my van uses a lot of oil and I sometimes get blue smoke out of the exhaust.

Replacing the PCV valve should help solve the issue, not cause it.

It has been a month and so far it looks like it has had positive impact. On my 2013 Accord the change in PCV valve helped greatly minimize the issue (didn't fully solve it). If interested, check out the video I have on my 2013 accord. For this 2010 Odyssey I will add an update to description of video after 1000 miles and will keep adding to help others. Just check back later. Thanks
