I can not stress enough how much better content RMRS puts out comparing to any other men's fashion channel. For example, the "How A Suit Should Fit" article has turned into *the* guide to buy a well-fitted suit. So many UA-camrs and websites have referenced it. This video also gives you *solid* tips/advices. God bless Antonio and his team!
@@RealMenRealStyle I haven't really built my wardrobe, so I just wear a simple white dress shirt, khaki blazer, navy trousers, and tassle loafers. Love watching your videos. This has been my kick starter youtube channel. Love from the Philippines🇵🇭
Excellent vid - especially for the formal events where Men usually get lost in the details instead of "nailing the basics". Thanks for making the time for this!
Great! Simple choices, and tying the necktie at the end was the best-paced demonstration I've seen. Many explain slowly and execute quickly. Here, no explanation but a slow, exaggerated execution that was easy to follow.
Although being an Indian, where our culture differs on a few of the points you have addressed, I agree with you. It doesn't cost anything to be nice to most people.
Would it still be business formal if I skip the suit? There’s still the tucked in dress shirt and the oxfords. I’d typically go with black matching my belt.
Excellent advice as you always provide, since I subscribed to your channel I had corrected a couple things in the way I dress and success had rained over me, thank you so much.
@@RealMenRealStyle Well one of my female cousins was getting married and I wanted to look good but I realized I needed some advice to move from looking okay to looking awesome, so I started browsing in UA-cam for suits and fashion advice and your channel came up.
@@RealMenRealStyle When I was browsing for fashion advice in UA-cam the name of your channel stood up like a light in the dark, I checked one of your videos and said to myself, "This guy really knows what he's talking about".
being trying to figure out what semi formal wedding attire might look like, and it's basically a suit right? (with a little more freedom on the colors, maybe)
Hey uncle A!!! I've got a question, my father (martyred) served in the ASC and therefore got some cufflinks and studs etc that were made for members of the regiment. Could I wear them to show my military heritage in black ties etc??????
Very interesting, I am doing a wardrobe change and I'm trying to get more casual and good formal. Wear options and this video helped, But I think there's a general rule of thumb out there That you wear Dark on dark colors and light on light colors like charcoal gray pants with black shoes and a black shirt. And at the same with beige, Go white shirt with beige Pants and brown belt with brown shoes. I'm turning thirty one this year and i'm trying to dress more mature I don't want to wear something that I was wearing when I was twenty or twenty five.
Antonio, what about boutonnieres? Are they OK for business formal, or only business casual? You said not to go overboard with business formal, so does that mean leave off the boutonniere altogether? I have a VERY important interview coming soon that could set my career and I want to get it just right!
In a few months time (April) I'm going to attend a wedding. It's a first for me in my adult time (the one when I was 6 doesn't count), and I'm not exactly sure what to wear. There's no dress code, and there won't be many people that care about that sort of stuff, so I'm thinking a something akin to a business casual or cocktail attire. I've been thinking of a charcoal blazer, light pink or white shirt, black chinos and black chelsea boots. Alternatively, maybe a better choice would be lighter colour (beige, light gray) chinos? Are black/brown chelsea boots a good idea, or should I go with the classic black oxford? Belt or suspenders? Just for context, I'm a rather bigger guy (182cm/95kg), with shoulder length hair and a beard, so a lot of the combinations might not work.
@gene thedancinmachine I know that for the reason you mentioned red is out of the question, but just to be safe I think I'll stick to the good 'ol white. Thanks!
@@omandachuva I do have a suit, relatively good fit also, but I don't like wearing it. A full suit is just not "me", I prefer to mix things up. And it's black, so won't really work on a early spring wedding. And when I mix and match, it's quite easy to find awesome deals in thrift stores, and I've seen matching suits only like twice in over two years.
@@gammondog Well, it's my older sister, so yeah, quite a close relative, haha. However, knowing her, she'd say that a blazer and dark jeans would be enough, but even I wouldn't go _that_ casual. I'll consider a suit, but I'm still leaning more towards a cocktail attire.
Hey Antonio, I was recently talking to one of my friends about suits and we ended up discussing tuxedos. We couldn't decide if a Velvet dinner jacket could be included as part of a Tux, do you think it can be done, and if so, what colours would you recommend?
I'm mostly a casual guy but will wear a suit for formal events. Been also trying to find a good replacement for my baggy basketball shorts for lounging at home perhaps some joggers any insight is welcomed. Great content as always!
@@RealMenRealStyle Just for Home but when I'm out I dress well. The suit in my closet was tailored for me at Mens Wearhouse which I wore for my dads wedding. The 2nd one I'm getting is a Navy Blue suit it might have to be cheaper than the 1st one this time so perhaps Burlington if the quality is decent.
@@Manuel421 another to keep an eye out for is Joseph A. Bank. Decent quality at a fairly economic price, although admittedly probably similar to the Men's Wearhouse one you got.
The Vincero watches look nice. Plus, it's made in America so I appreciate that. I do love my Japanese watches and feel that Swiss watches are over-rated, Ravi Peiris M.D.
Could someone please link me the watch at 1:35 . That is exactly the kind of watch that I am looking for, a silver chain strap and with 3 "buttons" on the watch.
Great video, good info. I’ll forgive you for the vincero watches 😉😂 I will say tho, the watches in this video are absolutely too massive to be considered acceptable for black tie. Should be 38mm or smaller, even 40mm is a stretch. The giant fashion watch at 6:05 looks very sloppy with a tux. It is way too big. Just my opinion tho! Thanks for the great content, honestly casual wear style is where i struggle the most.
@@RealMenRealStyle I have Antonio. I often wear label roses with my suits. Just to add a bit of colour. Clients also use it as a conversation starter. What's your take on it?
Dan the man I was also expecting White Tie but Antonio alluded to something more formal than Black Tie when he said “Black Tie is the most formal dress code you are *likely* to experience.” By that he probably means White Tie is an extremely rarely used dress code. Probably royal family events and the like.
Since when do tux pants need to match the jacket. It’s perfectly acceptable to wear black wool or cotton tux pants with a midnight blue velvet jacket. You don’t need an all velvet tux, nor should you get one. It’s the same thing when wearing white tuxedo, black trousers and white jacket, not all white. I do agree that the satin lining should match the shawl fabric.
It can be done, and relatively easily. In an earlier era of men's fashion, it could possibly be the case, but a belt is perfectly acceptable for a suit
Puffer jacket.. Blue or black.. Branded t's.. Any colour except pink, purple, yellow, no pastels.. Jeans or black combats... Runners.. Blue or white... Webbing belt... Watch.. Spiky hair... Blend in mode...
This might work in the us. Showing the watch won't be that good in Europe (France in particular). Some one who shows ostensibly his watch would be considered a poser or futile.
I just realized, I've been mostly dressing business casual with the occasional dark denims without ever realizing it! Edit: PS - What about wearing turtlenecks with tuxedos? Where do they fit in the best?
Turtlenecks are awesome with suits, sport coats, top coats, pea coats, etc. but not with tuxedos. Tuxedos are black tie and have specific requirements.
1. Dress socks must match the pants and should be knee high 2. The pocket square should match the tie 3. This dress guide is out of order 4. A V neck sweater is…..if you don’t know by now, never mind
