My mate recently got an AIO and when installing the waterblock/pump part onto his cpu and tightening it down he accidentally tapped a capacitor near his ram slot. He continued to use his computer and had issues with some games where the sound stopped working in some games and yet other games worked fine. I told him he should probably replace the motherboard as soon as possible so this week he got a new motherboard, he built it all up and when into bios, he turned off CSM and secure boot and when he saved the bios settings and reset his PC all he got was a black screen and the system didn't post properly. Turns out that Capacitor was regulating voltage to the CPU and he must of damaged his CPU over the time he games on it on the older motherboard with the missing capacitor. On the new motherboard the CPU must of been on its last legs and died. So now he just bought a new CPU. Moral of the story if you knock a capacitor off your motherboard you should stop using it immediately.

A lot of the nicer/newer boards seem to have a bios flash function via USB, you just have to refer to your manual and forums for the specific process for said motherboard. That way you don't need a different CPU that will post on the system to update the BIO. Sorry for the ramble, have a great life!

the gpu temp is probably affected from the case. There's literally little airflow going inside. I had a case similar to that and my gpu temps are around there. I swapped cases to the o11 and now my gpu temps are 67-73c never over 75c. i'm using a 3060ti Gigabyte Vision
I used one of those AOC Agon displays for a bit. Bezels look a bit dated but the stand is amazing and you can't argue with four USB ports and that headphone hook as perks. Not surprised by the temperatures on the GPU. The Ventus 2x is pretty much the worst 3070 available, that cooler is just not adequate.

Hey Bryan, do you ever use alcohol in your ultrasonic? I saw Vince from EVGA using it to clean mobos with petroleum jelly on them from ln2 overclocks on a Gamers Nexus video a while back. He did say it was fairly dangerous, but it might be a good option for peripherals?
I have a RTX 3080 Ventus 3X OC and does get warmer than I would like to see. But it stays at 70 degrees under load, however I'm going to be changing the thermal pads to improve it more.
@@Ash-my4gf all the 3080s and 3090s don't have the best thermal pads. I know others that have 3090s that needed to change the thermal pads because they had horrible vram temps.
I always try and balance a build, even if it means i end up making two builds. It's more to spend, but at least you will have 2x lots of profit margin and enjoyment for the work and parts sourcing. Plus two balanced builds that will suit two different budgets and make two different buyers happy! It helps me to get a steady flow of cleaning/testing/building/benchmarking/selling as well. Thanks for another interesting video Bryan :)
Hi Bryan. My favourite Papa Freidman quote for the pandemic is 'there is nothing quite so permanent as a temporary government program'. What a lucky find.
I have that same MSI ventus 3070, and the temps are fine. Even plating cyberpunk, with all the goodies turned on. It's no worse than anything else I have owned. I do run a slightly aggressive fan curve, through afterburner, but I add 500mhz on the memory, and nothing on the gpu clock, preferring to leave that to GPU boost. It sits around 65/70 at the most.
I disagree with the assessment for a videocard with the 4790K. I have one too and had it paired with a GTX 1080 and found that it still got some reserves. put in a 2080 super and some point and it is slightly bottlenecked now but I can live with it. The main question is what you do with it. If I was a competitive gamer chasing FPS at 1080p I would probably be very unhappy with the 4790K holding the 2080 Super back. But I like my games to be as pretty as possible in 1440p and the fps are secondary as long as they stay above 60 all the time. and for that, the 4970K still does a great job in supporting that "big" card. So, depending on usage I'd even recommend up to a 3060ti for an overclocked 4790K with fast RAM. So in the end it depends on the usage AND on whether spending lots money on something faster justifies the performance gain over the 1070 ti. Probably not.
A set of cheap cable extensions really is the only thing holding back this PC from looking glamtastic. The ketchup and mustard really just bring down all the other nice upgrades you did in my opinion. Cheapens everything significantly. Good hunting though, that's an insane bargain for a 3070 pc.
Hello Brian, I would like to ask is my i7 8700k running at stock 4.3 GHz bottlenecking my GTX 3080 TI that I upgraded to recently? I am getting GPU & CPU usage of around 50-90% in warzone in lowest graphic settings (5120 x 1440) besides the ultra textures and my FPS would flatulence all over place from 100s to 30s when I start running from gun fights for example and it's just not playable for me. My GPU time indicator mentioned in warzone at top, would be 6ms and CPU times would be 10ms My GPU does the similar thing with Apex legends as well where I would get inconsistent 120fps but atleast it playable and feels a bit better then when I used to use GTX 1080 previously. I can't seem to get very high Apex FPS as your videos shows even at low 1080p. My CPU stays at 4.3 GHz & my temps sits around 70 degrees while gaming.
liquid metal is not ideal if the unit will be moved around, even the small amount needed there can escape and fall over something near the gpu doing a mess, is not ideal, in particular avoid it on laptops for that reason

Wasn't the Num-loc button missing?
Your friend did you a solid. GG.
the gpu temp is probably affected from the case.
Brian, mate, I love your channel mannnn. It’s nice to have this specific form of entertainment whilst I work. Thank you
Hello Sir, I really needed your help my PC keep freezing all the parts are brand new and it is already formatted, I removed the SSD and even without OS it is keep freezing.
Holy Crap BALLZ! When did you get a ultrasonic cleaner????? Nice.
what is the spray at 7:50
Loving the tunes bro!
Anyone know the music at 10:35?
Hey Brian! What fluid do you use in ultrasonic cleaners? How does it not destroy the electronic parts?
Helo all the way from South Africa great content Brian can't wait for the upcoming pc parts hunt for this month
Hi Brian! I see you using that Austrian Export multi purpose spray can from a long time but unfortunatelly, they don't ship oversea... Do you think you could work with the company to promote their product and make them ship to Canada? Really appreciate that Tech Yes Lovin and content! Cheerz :D
Love a happy ending.
Nice deal Bro... Been wanting to make a PC since a while now.... Feels like a distant dream now
I have a RTX 3080 Ventus 3X OC and does get warmer than I would like to see. But it stays at 70 degrees under load, however I'm going to be changing the thermal pads to improve it more.
Ventus is straight trash lol
@@Ash-my4gf all the 3080s and 3090s don't have the best thermal pads. I know others that have 3090s that needed to change the thermal pads because they had horrible vram temps.
@@StgVirus1 oh yeah most have to have them changed I’m just saying ventus is especially bad in general aswell
@@Ash-my4gf Ya, temps aren't the best. But performance is amazing
2 fan 3070 will run hot. Mine have 4 fans. 3 for heatsink and 1 for mosfets.
Great salvage coverage however violating EPA in Australia? I'd fix that? mb
H20 I saw detergent and white vinegar? How about a few drops of paint thinner. I'd avoid a few drops of MEK that will eat the plastic. mb
Commercial mining does not pick up one card at a time there must be many more individual high frequency traders. mb
It's nice but I would use a high airflow case.
Cheers for the heads up I won’t put my pc stuff in the dishwasher 😎💪🏼
I love this channel.
the monitor can't go under the water?
Hey Brain, if you have parts with charge put then in denatured alcohol / ethanol in a open container and put both in the ultrasonic cleaner
Hey Brian, are you excited for the Alder lake core i3? I can't wait to see the chip showcased somewhere on YT.
If it matches Ryzen 5's 5000 series performance it will be wild🤯
What the heck were thoose temps? Randomly 100c and then back doen to 50-60? What the.....
A set of cheap cable extensions really is the only thing holding back this PC from looking glamtastic. The ketchup and mustard really just bring down all the other nice upgrades you did in my opinion. Cheapens everything significantly. Good hunting though, that's an insane bargain for a 3070 pc.
Twist mustard ketchup, this reduces the cheap appearance.
wait, did he just wash the keyboard and psu with tap water? won't that kill the circuitry inside? i'm really baffled?
Turned out great 👍
lol, the police sirens in the music had me looking outside the window twice

Idk if that mouse is special or something but it has the logo of the cs:go ct on it 🤔
Hello Brian, I would like to ask is my i7 8700k running at stock 4.3 GHz bottlenecking my GTX 3080 TI that I upgraded to recently? I am getting GPU & CPU usage of around 50-90% in warzone in lowest graphic settings (5120 x 1440) besides the ultra textures and my FPS would flatulence all over place from 100s to 30s when I start running from gun fights for example and it's just not playable for me. My GPU time indicator mentioned in warzone at top, would be 6ms and CPU times would be 10ms
My GPU does the similar thing with Apex legends as well where I would get inconsistent 120fps but atleast it playable and feels a bit better then when I used to use GTX 1080 previously. I can't seem to get very high Apex FPS as your videos shows even at low 1080p. My CPU stays at 4.3 GHz & my temps sits around 70 degrees while gaming.
Should replace gpu thermal paste with liquid metal.
liquid metal is not ideal if the unit will be moved around, even the small amount needed there can escape and fall over something near the gpu doing a mess, is not ideal, in particular avoid it on laptops for that reason
Nice deal indeed man! Two days ago on my local market a guy was selling this i7 5960x based system with a 1080ti founders edition in it, 700 bucks USD. I could tell by the pictures that perhaps he had never sold a PC before. I messaged him about it and asked if he knew what the motherboard was or if he could show me a clearer picture of it. It turned out to be an EVGA X99 FTW. Pretty rare these days it seems. I advised him that maybe 700.00 USD was a little low of an asking price considering that there was also a 1080ti in there 1000 watt corsair PSU, 2 tb SSD. Mind you everything is dusty as hell in the photos. I told him not to let anyone low ball him and to blow all the dust out and take another photo. I almost bought it, but I have 4 systems already including my own x99 E5 2678 v3 based system to play around with. I'll probably never see another one of those 5960x's come up for sale again, oh well.
hey Bry, what's your preferred mechanical keyboard switch type? tactile, linear, clicky, etc
hey my EVGA FTW3 3080ti runs at 80C when under 99% load :(
Hi, Bryan! Could you share the music titles?
