I really dig the camp cooking part. Always nice to see others’ recipes and cool setups. Bummer about the campsite crowds, but sometimes you have to do it. Look forward to the next trip vid!
There are a bunch of free campsites inside Sequoia NP along Forest Route 14S11. Last time I was there, I camped at Eastern Big Meadow Road Camping Area. I had the whole campground to myself. The Campendium app shows where all the free campsites are.
Thanks! I’ll check those out for sure next time. I tried Campendium but I must have not been looking at it correct or had a filter/setting messed with.
Love what you do, I personally visit the sequoia's at least once a year, love it. I would work on the knife skills 😅😅, but that was great to watch, I also have a white tundra, and you just inspired me to do some upgrades to it.
Thanks for checking it out! Knife skill….I’m just a below average camper not a chef lol. Don’t have too high of expectations of me. Get those tundra modifications started
Thanks man. This is our favorite thumbnail so far. You have so many awesome looking videos yourself, I checked out your channel. I’ll start watching asap.
Love the content man. I totally feel ya on those camp grounds like that with tons of people lol. Keep it up. I plan on making my Tundra similar to yours. I have a similar white Tundra and love it! Can't wait to take the adventures like you. We are more mid west so west coast is a bit hard for us but its in the future.
Thanks for checking them out. My last few videos haven’t been adventures but I’ll get back into it shortly. Have one more video of a roof rack to post then I’ll have an adventure video. Good luck with the build out. If you have Tundra questions along the way hit me up on Instagram, much easier to respond back.
thanks for th e video. Agree the public campgrounds can be a hassle. got my second tundra 2011 4x4. Did you say you had links to the rechargeable lanterns and fan you use? Looking to convert all my stuff to solar or rechargeable . Thank you!
What area are you from so I can recommend something. If you mean the area in this video specific, then nothing, it’s all national park around this and have to camp in a camp ground.
I was at Sheep Creek earlier in September too. Nice campsite but every time we would start cooking anything wasps started swarming us. Idk if we were right under a wasp nest or wtf, but it got so bad we had to start cooking and eating inside our tent, which while cozy, wasnt ideal. That and the family next to us had like 13 people in a single campsite and their kids kept cutting through our campsite playing tag. Easy to ignore I guess but pretty annoying after a while.,
we had a couple of those "sugar" bees, not sure what they are really called, the ones that are attracted to food but don't sting. But it wasn't too big of a deal luckily. you must have caught them just at the right time.
I have recently started hiking some out and back and some loops getting up to the 10 mile mark. Hoping to do something cool like JMT or PCT sections some day.
I love your videos. Do you have any suggestion for taking my small family somewhere near Kings Canyon where we can actually have a campfire and water to jump in? I really prefer to feel secluded so I’m thinking about going in September which should help with having less people around. Any suggestions? I almost decided on Redwood Meadow, but it’s close to 100 Giants so there might be a lot of people and also no water to jump in around there. Any suggestions?
Rig goals! I'm re tooling my tundra right now. got rid of my ARE topper and RTT and am getting the GFC in a month. your rig is definitely an inspiration for some features I plan on doing. pretty stoked.
Yeah the bathrooms are nice for sure and proximity to what we were doing was convenient. The first night at sheep creek was very peaceful with river sound in the back. Second night, not so much.
For the main general Sherman tree area it has a massive parking lot. So no worries with that but if you want it less crowded the earlier the better for sure. I think we made it there at maybe 8 or 9 am. But it’s got plenty of space and very tourist spot. When we hiked kings canyon it’s a very small parking area and it’s always more enjoyable with less people on the trial so early. We got there at sunrise. Driving under/through the fallen tree was an absolute zoo! I wouldn’t even bother with it unless you are willing to wait in a line of cars that want to take a picture. The meadow we went to…I forget the name sorry, no one seemed to go there. It wasn’t busy when we arrived in the morning and still wasn’t when we left. That was my favorite part. Hopefully my video said what the meadow was. The tall rock climb was cool but man I hate heights so it wasn’t my cup of tea. Amazing view though if you aren’t afraid of heights.
What are the fire restrictions like in Kings Canyon/Sequoia right now? I know it says Stage 2 Fire Restrictions on all their websites but I'm wondering if they are allowing fires after going up far enough.
I'm sorry I can't say for certain, but I know on my dates and trip I used a propane fire and some people were burning wood. I would say its safest to just call the local ranger station or visitor center maybe and ask.
I'm looking for a video with more information. I'm flaying in from another state so my idea is to rent a camping van, take it to a ..... Campground I guess? This video didn't explain it. Then have a eagle eye video of the map where to go

Your authenticity got you a new sub. I came for the camper top...but I'm staying for broken hip ol' dudes who keep on keepin' on.
Thanks a lot. Appreciate it. I try to keep it real 👍👍
Going in a few weeks, thank you for sharing!
Have fun! Thanks for watching.
Love the San Diego hat! I'm an Anza-Borrego rat. Overlanding represent!!
The soundtrack you use is awesome.
Thanks! That part is one of the trickier parts is finding halfway decent song in the approved UA-cam library
Yes, awesome love to set up as well
Thank you appreciate it

haha thanks man. We enjoy cooking at camp for sure.
@@prospectoverland heading to Sequoia this weekend! Can’t wait!
@@Josh-pn4qb awesome have fun! if the kings Canyon section hasn’t been closed for the winter that’s a awesome area also
Looking to camp at these parks next year. Maybe a video, even a short, brief on IG, going over your electronics/GPS set up? Safe travels.

@@prospectoverland Cool thanks ! Have a good 4th of July!
nice, vid. got my same set up with the same table and blackstone
Such a good combo!!
Thanks for this vid! Any recommendations for BEGINNERS that want to camp a couple of nights AWAY from people? Thanks!

I was just there in Oct thru hiking the John Muir Trail. A lot of burned trees and blowdowns
I have recently started hiking some out and back and some loops getting up to the 10 mile mark. Hoping to do something cool like JMT or PCT sections some day.

No shame in staying at actual campgrounds occasionally. Sometimes it's just easier and closer to what you want to do. Real restrooms are a bonus too!
Yeah the bathrooms are nice for sure and proximity to what we were doing was convenient. The first night at sheep creek was very peaceful with river sound in the back. Second night, not so much.
Clean soundtrack! 🤙Sub’d!
Thank you! Appreciate the sub
Would you mind sharing how you mounted your roof pouch on the inside? I've tried something similar but the summer heat melted the silicone right off!
It came from @Vrnclrewnstorage with double sided tape, I think 3m brand, already affixed to the bag. It’s held up to the heat just fine for me.
San Diego! Would like to see this Tundra in person.
Yo, thanks. We will be at Pure Brewing Vista oct 23 12-3pm
What time do you recommend to start any of hikes? or to even beat the crowds and actually finding a parking 😅
For the main general Sherman tree area it has a massive parking lot. So no worries with that but if you want it less crowded the earlier the better for sure. I think we made it there at maybe 8 or 9 am. But it’s got plenty of space and very tourist spot.

can't wait to check that place out.
What kind of knife do you use ? It looks pretty cool and sharp.
I love it. It’s a Montana Knife Company super cub

Do you use a propane fire pit due to the restrictions on camp fires in the parks?
Yeah seems like every agency’s limits real fires so I just don’t bother with it any more. Everyone is cool with propane.
Does your Tundra, with that build, fit the trees tunnels?
I didn’t try but it looked like it wouldn’t fit plus the line was ridiculous so didn’t bother trying.
Thanks for the quick response on that@@prospectoverland ...I have a Tacoma and figured if you could fit, I should too. Thanks again...happy trails!
Toyota Tundra number 1
Thanks!!
Love watching your adventures, would be a welcome addition to have your wife interact/talk more. It adds more depth to the video's! Keep them coming
Thanks for checking them out. Haha I’ll see what I can do to get her on camera….she’s a huge help filming but isn’t the biggest on camera fan.
What time of year was this trip?
September 2022
I'm looking for a video with more information.
I'm flaying in from another state so my idea is to rent a camping van, take it to a ..... Campground I guess? This video didn't explain it.
Then have a eagle eye video of the map where to go
Sorry it didn’t meet your expectations. Good luck with your trip.
Grumpy dude
I am…?
You're going to have to change the name of your channel to "Prospect Bell Peppers" after this video! ;)
Haha Ill take that under consideration.
To each their own, but thats way to much work for cooking while camping!!
If you make a title about "sequoia", skip the cooking, and show us Sequoia.
Next time
Maybe finish reading the whole title. Awesome video man.
