BOF3: So I may have overtrained Beyd...

- Backhand+heal OP. I can't damage him anymore as his defense is too high. I can't oneshot him with a 187-HP Timed Blow, which is kinda the strongest defense-piercing attack I have here.
And I jacked his damage so high to the point that nothing can stop him.
My goal is to make him oneshot zig... in the weakest equipment I have. He's got 250 HP. My trial for that is basically make him oneshot my ubertanky Peco in Defense formation with the weakest equipment I can give him. It's.. going well.
Raising Defense: Hit him while he's defending.
Raising HP: Inflict actual HP damage on him.
Raising Damage: Let him inflict damage upon you. At this point in the game it's kinda hard to do, but just remove your armor and let him bitchslap you into oblivion. Eventually he won't suck so bad. - Ігри

Man this minigame does test your sanity.
If trained enough, and considering how fast he levels up it wouldn't take long, Beyd could easily have gone on to take on Myria alone, if he so wanted to.
Best game in the whole series
First time I played BOF I did something similar. Becaus eI expected Zig to be a normal Boss strength char. So I tried Beyd until he could beat me.... He one shot Zig.. X'D
Apparently I didn't realized this but Beyd has a Canadian accent when he shouts.

Beyd has no interest in disposing of you like the other Bosses. Game Over is when your dead body is taken out to the trash, not healed by an ally.

I remember basically doing the same thing. Just training him and training him with ridiculous excess because I had no idea what would be necessary.

I did the same thing in my first playthrough, he defeated Ziggy alone and that's fits his personality very well when you encounter him in the future.

If Beyd can beat you at your best, he's good and ready. At this point, you'll have to heal Zig to keep it interesting.
Its like their roles are reversed once Beyd gets too strong for Zig.
Even healing Ziggy to keep it interesting won’t work. Monkyman will catch you and end the contest.

I did the same thing with him but he had a claymore an the scale armor I trained him two days worth cause I was assuming zig was going to have like almost 10k health an when I got in the fight to we’re there fought he took one swing an hit 1,358 of damage on zig an he was done then my friend bought me the guide book an his health was under 1,000

You can always emulate it on PC or even a decent Android phone, comfy experience. Normally I wouldn't recommend piracy but it's not like Capcom's getting money from it regardless, if a remake/remaster is one day made, definitely support that, of course.
Now I have to find out what the theoretical max is.
Beyd is the literal equivalent if a demigod. He can one-shot the final boss and probably kill/takeover a secret boss's position.

What happens if you give Beyd the GooKing Sword though?
Btw, you can pretty much get the GooKing Sword early in the game by developing a Casino via Fairy Village.
Just win the lottery numbers and cheat out the First Guess by using Save States.

Strongest potential in the game

Same. Reminds me of the oldest PC monitor I had, came from a hospital, pretty small, there was a program called Powerstrip that I ended up discovering which allowed me to change colors/contrast beyond what the physical knobs could do, it was the only way to make anything even visible on it. But it was great, kinda miss all those fruity colors.

Beyd : MOOORE POOOWAAAH
beyd has the greatest potential out of any BoF character who could easily solo every final boss by himself.
You should equip him with Claymore and Breastplate. You get rewarded with next level tier item based on what you give him.
Scaramax results in getting a Claymore.
Claymore results in getting a Flare Sword.
SpencerFcp or, you could get the moon sword, less damage, but same reward
The upgrade doesn't matter. If you use the strongest armor he can equip at that point, the breast plate I think, and a Claymore, you only get the Flare Sword and a Crepe cape in return. You can get a crepe cape from the Manilo store before you train Beyd, but he can't equip it. You only get a Flare Sword for using the Claymore...but it's not much more useful than the moon sword when going through the lighthouse, and the very next dungeon is fire based. The Flare sword is useless going the the Volcano, and you can buy one in the next town after training Beyd
imma give him clothing and bent sword :P
i'm playing BoF 3 now, and will really train the guy well.... maybe not as well as you did :P
maybe with 1 save file i'll make him monstrous, like would give him max power, haha
or just a LOT of def and hp, haha (maybe me at max lvl, haha), and after that, of course his power

where did you get timed blow from? its from some beast in momo's tower or rhapala random areas, right?

You can get the Timed Blow from one of the Goo Titans hidden in Meryleep's forest area.

Oh yes and one more thing.
You can either avoid encounters to preserve your low levels before you can meet a master of your choice or just kill everything that comes in your way and hopefully you get a random item drop after the battle.
The game really adapts to your playstyle whether you are aggressive or not.
@@xxx_jim_the_reaper_xxx At first i level enough, killing Teepo to only level Rei and myself, so i can put Teepo as Mygas' apprentice and level quickly.
I'll also use the randomizer of Abyssonym's Github at some point.
I also am planning to train each character enough at some point, and build different teams, just for fun.
Peco i let get all skills at Deis first, and then train him on few others depending on each level up(list is on GameFaqs), cuz most seem to train him with Fahl only at some point, but i like to balance out the defenses(both Def, Int and HP) and make him a bit more useful than just super tank.
Same with all others, but randomizer will make me chnage strategy a lot XD
I could make 2 save files, of which 1 will have all characters aggressive, and the other more defensive, like some kind of Survivalist Mode.

Ugh, training Beyd and the Desert are the most boring parts of this game for me.

I'm playing this again now after all of these years. My level 45 Ryu was about this strong, hahaha
fun part is he can actually get stronger then that lol all the way up to 900hp range and 999 atk pwr and 999 def pwr
I just did a play run up to this point and you are absolutely right. From the numbers I was getting my BYD had about 1,000+ hp or more the attack power on him was insane. He one shot that sailor dude, i spent couple hours on him . I cheated btw so my team was maxed on hp and ap and defense and attack With top tier gear on. I quit the game after this , but he one shot everyone in the fucking team.
I never used to have patience with the training Beyd arc until recently... I trained him similarly and he got so powerful he defeated Zig in a matter of a few turns.
Yet he still manages to somehow injure himself.😂
