  • In order to turn Peco into a onion wrecking ball LoL you must apprentice him under Master Fahl from level 1. Using the skill Monopolize to boost him up with you're current party levels. Whoever uses this skill gets all the experience (EXP) at the end of the battle. Power level Peco up to 15 or 16 and then put the battle formation on attack with Peco leading the charge. You can do this all before going back to Wyndia Castle. Also Monopolize is learned from Master D'Lonzo at the Coffee Shop.

Ive always wanted to use Super Peco, but he’s such a good skill doll for early game. Peco is literally everything Garr on crack

@Jay Cee I wasn't talking about this playthrough. I'm just talking about other people. I'm one of those people that used Peco as my main fighter. He was actually better than Garr. And he was as quick as Rei.

He was the best character in the game no doubt. 100% under Fahl the entire game and put him in front of Attack formation. Literally gets like 2-3 monster attacks per turn due to his reprisal rate😎

Well sure lol no way I'd know monopolize would triple his exp growth 😅 let alone use for master skills. Poor Garr got power crept badly.

There is a way better place to train. Go to the volcano and keep casting fire spells on the Magmamen then once they are 1 shotting you, cast ice magic on them. You can jump like 10+ levels in 1 battle.

Lava man training, it actually has the power to take you from lvl 1 to 50-something in one battle. It's amazing. (use ivory dice)

@@chozami7759 It has been more than 20 years since I played BOF 3, but I remember (post end-game) farming A LOT of titan goos, (stealing life shards) + fighting X amount of battles to farm life shards, protein, power food, fish-heads, swallow eyes & moxa from the fairy village. I brute forced my Ryu & Garr into (basically) maximum stats.
I remember the Lava Men, (in the volcano area, east of Wyndia)... but back then remember getting more exp from Vulcans, and stealing protein (+defense) from them.
Just looking at the Lava Men wiki now, I see that their exp could stack with up to 15 times, with flame elemental attacks, (up to 65,535 exp -- probably a hex limit). Back in the day I knew hitting lava men, (and vulcans) with a flame attack boosted their stats & exp, but didn't realize it kept stacking from there, (for lava men).

@@Kvidnal It's amazing that doubling Lava man exp stacks 15 times because you can exploit it easily and become overpowered early in the game. I wonder if this was intentional or not, but either way I'm glad it's there. Before I did Lava man training I did what you did, I duplicated swallow eyes using fairies and I stole tons of protein, life shard and power food from enemies. I enjoyed grinding in this game, probably because I loved the game so much overall.
One thing I could not accomplish, however, was getting the Goo King Sword. I tried for about 2 days then gave up because it's the end of the game and you can't really use it at that point anyways. If there were a new game+ or an arcade mode, I would have gone all out, but BoF 3 didn't have anything like that. 4 had a simplistic version of it and 5 had a full arcade dungeon mode. I wonder if they got the inspiration for those modes from the Final Fantasy series? FF had a lot of optional battle gauntlets, for example the Golden Saucer battles and the FF Tactics hidden dungeon.

@@chozami7759 I have a bit of personal insight about the Goo King Sword.
When I first played through the game, I rented it maybe three or four times... and that was closer to the release of the game. On that playthrough, I DID find the Goo King Sword, and without a tremendous amount of effort. I just naturally found it on a straight playthrough.
A few years later, I bought a copy of the game from Ebay to play on PS2...
I was MUCH more thorough on that playthrough, and that was the version that I grinded to have extreme stats, (maybe like yourself).
Even though I killed hundreds, and probably even thousands of Goo Kings, I never found the Goo King Sword on that version of the game. (Whether it was newer, or older, I couldn't say -- my guess is that the version I later bought on Ebay was an earlier version of the game, or perhaps a different region).
I seem to recall even being able to BUY the Goo King Sword from a fish merchant...
But in the version that I owned, the same merchant sold the Royal Sword instead. (I had bought the Goo King Sword, and also found Goo King Sword/Swords).
RNGs can be bad, but I grinded them HARD... VERY HARD. The Goo King Sword did not exist in that second version of the game I had.

I wanted more personal skills with the characters we get. With Peco being a tree it would’ve been awesome to learn a new skill with each tree you visit. There are 4 of them I think maybe 5. But when you visit them in the early game you learn the status breaths confuse sleep poison stop then in the late game revisit them and learn the resistance to confuse sleep poison stop and in his level ups let him learn all the breaths fire ice thunder wind and maybe holy breath and death immunity when he visits the final tree at max level. Would’ve given him unique utility and integrated more need for exploration and you could do this with each character
