I love your content man. Very objective and realistic. Not just schilling product.

Andy always talks about using 1/2oz. And in very shallow water 18 inches 3/8oz. And in deeper 3/4oz. Like ledges.

You have to have the spool tension pretty tight and throw it hard. It’s also meant for 20lb fluorocarbon or 50-65lb braid. 👍

I just wanna put this out there for anyone looking to buy. I have this reel and it is an amazing skipping reel if you actually skip appropriately. I am definitely a beginner in terms of skipping and this makes me look like a pro.

The manual for the Lew's PTI with same cast control system says to loosen spool so lure slowly falls and spins about one revolution after lure hits the ground. That's how I got mine to stop the perpetual birds nest and skips pretty good without having to use max brake. :-)

I use this same setting on every reel i use for skipping but starting out with near max brake then gradually lowering it, no birdnest and im actually a newbie 🤣

When I was learning I used a reel with centrifugal breaks. It was tough. Then I bought a reel with magnetic brakes. You can use any reel with magnetic breaks but you have to use your thumb with them. The Daiwa Tatula SV is also a easy reel to skip with.

SHOULD HAVE TRIED IT WITH THE 20LB. TEST IT WOULD HAVE PERFORMED ALOT BETTER. I HAVE TWO OF THEM AMD THEY PERFORM GREAT WITH 20LB. SEAGUAR. AND I AM AN AVERAGE SKIPPER.

You need a 7'2 - 7'4 rod medium to medium heavy and go low to high in raising rod tip as it skips.
Like your intro as 2Thesalonians chapter 2 is coming to fruitation.
    Tightlines.

When you’re skipping, you’re starting high and ending low. Try starting low then ending high and you’ll be much better at skipping

Wish they had some shorter gear ratios but I use this reel for many different presentations, even offshore.

Lift the rod up to pick up the line as you skip. Will help you at bettering your skip.

It would be easier to skip without a crankbait rod lol but great vid !!!👍

Sometimes you need to skip with a crankbait rod though.

Also it’s easier with a frog or plastic.

If you want a skipping reel what is the better buy the Daiwa Tatula SV, or the Lew’s Team Pro SP.

Wow! A great video but your message at the beginning is so true to todays people. As a teacher i am aware of how little time we have left but i am saddened by the nonchalant or not caring attitude of teenagers believing the lie of the enemy that they have a lot of time to fix their relationship with God. Thanks for being obedient and raising awereness of how urgent the matter is.

It’s still gonna birds nest but it’s designed to not go so deep to where you can’t get it out

  • @justinsmith8892
    @justinsmith8892 3 роки тому +1

Your release point is still too inconsistent. But keep practicing and you'll get it. I skip Shimanos, Daiwa's, and Lews. Lews braking systems are some of the best for getting those long skips where the bait "rides out" like a true rock skipping across the water. Daiwa's system doesn't do nearly as well as Lews in that regard. But Daiwa definitely can eliminate backlashing even for bad skips. I would also say that Lews doesn't better skipping light baits, Daiwa does better skipping the heavy stuff.

Bassfishinghq said it's 95% gear and 5% skill. So it's gotta be the gear your using.

Case in point why i dont like the lews reels, they arent available in the Netherlands anyways, but those overruns on almost every cast are pretty annoying.
Much prefer my metanium dc for control while skipping, and mgl if im finesse fishing with lighter gear.

If you had more than 3 IQ points, you would realize all those reviews were LH. Only a hand full of RH reels have been released and my pre order wasnt one of them.
