    Good stuff Nick. I’ve been skipping for a year. I’m pretty good at it right off the bat, but haven’t tried all the ways your doing. Anxious to try them. Thx for your techniques and sharing them. Not very many so called pro teach this much technique. I’m 69 years old and always like learning new stuff. Keep the faith 👍🥸🙏

    Sir, could you please do a comparison of skipping jigs with a curado DC vs a standard baitcaster. This type comparison has not been done and it has never been addressed on you tube. Due to two totally different braking systems, people are confused about the ability of a DC reel to skip as good as a traditional baitcaster brake system.

    • @InformativeFisherman
      @InformativeFisherman  6 місяців тому

      Sorry just now reading this, so I’ve played with the DC reels and in all honesty I feel like the hinder experienced peoples abilities. That being said, I love to have them when some in inexperienced in the boat. I myself had to shut all the breaking off on them when I pick them up 😆

    Question, the answer may be in your video, But let ask, when your lure is down 6 inches plus or minus. Do you have a dot on that looping to release the lure? Say you start the swing at 6:00 pm and end in upper say 11 am , do release at 7 am. Or similar example of the best place to release the lure. Thanks hope that makes sense!

    My trouble seems to lie on where I should initiate the skip. Should I want the skip to start right at the dock or overhanging limb or rather closer to me, skipping all the way to the target. Also, are you aiming at the initial point of impact or are you aiming at the intended target at the end of the skip. You're a fantastic teacher and I sincerely appreciate you sharing so much!!!! 👍

    • @InformativeFisherman
      @InformativeFisherman  2 роки тому +1

      Typically it’s about half way to the target no matter how close I am. Rewatch from 28min in again it might help a bit more and thank you!

    • @missinlink6733
      @missinlink6733 2 роки тому +1

      Aim at your target. Keep your eyes on the prize and see your skip through the target. You want your lure to hit midway between your target / point of entry and yourself. Just get out on the water and keep practicing. Watching Videos help, but time on the water teach you and help correct your mistakes. If you have a go pro record yourself and see what you are doing wrong.

    This is such a good thing to know fishing man made lakes, fish may spend it's whole life by that dock. When you get to natural lakes, not much different. Instead of docks, bass stick to shoreline cover to avoid the muskies in the deep water. I don't know any natural lakes that have huge bass, because naturally they seem to max out around 5 pounds, when mixed with all species together. Maybe there's a natural lake in Mexico, California or somewhere like that with huge fish. I just don't feel the same fishing impoundments as I do in natural lakes, one lake feels stupid after you do the other. The lake is naturally a part of the experience. Fishing surrounded by concrete walls, docks and spillways is sort of like shooting fish in a barrel.
    Never mix these species in a stocked pond or small lake, It's wrong to stock these fish together. You are basically fishing inside of a large aquarium, compared to a glacial lake they have no room to live together. You can't possibly even make a lake this big, for what they needed to cohabitate. What are people thinking the fish are friends ?. So many lakes have northern with bass, why both ?. I seen at least 50 of em like this on conservation websites, more except nobody can explain what they are doing. That's like putting goldfish with some piranhas, what will happen ?. Thousands of bass died, became food, maybe millions of bass. We all know who wins it's Northern. People are still learning how to even keep fish as pets, in the hobby fish eat other when we make mistakes. So, we humas don't know very much about fish yet. We think we know everything, but it's funny. We can't make mistakes with ponds, lakes and need more professional fisherman getting paid for science research.
    Fishing is fish science, behavior of fish research and more people need to get paid for that, and this is how we learn fish behavior. We are very destructive animals, not very good at stocking fish or making artificial aquatic environments yet. Tournaments hurt fish, it's not good for them the be caught over and over. None of us are very good at making lakes, we can do much better for sure. Maybe just go out on the ocean if you guys want intensity in fishing. Of course you can overpower the fish, it's just a bass and this is what I see is bass being literally janked by the jaw out of the water it looks so bad. I use a real net, a conservation net for all fishing I do and it's totally better than what you guys are doing on TV in tournaments.
    Who needs to land a bass bare handed, why ?. That's just a bad rule, I think cause I can afford a net. They usually can be scooped right up, and it's very handy so I don't understand why you insist on breaking the bass jaw on TV ?. Bass blood sacrifice, maybe that's what you guys are up to. You killed at least like 6 billion bass over the last 25 years, nice job ?. Ritualistic Bass sacrifice, as long as we're having fun though right ?. The crowd is going wild when you hold up the fish sacrifice, OMG. It's gotta be something like this, this is like preferred species for whatever God you guys been sacrificing them to. Which God was it that liked Bass ?. Syrians sacrificed fish, regarded as the lord of the sea and guardian of the realm of the dead, to the goddess Atargatis and ate the consecrated offering in a communion meal with the deity, sharing in the divine power. The other option is Jesus, someone is making sacrifices to Jesus ?. I have no clue man why you guys are doing any of this stuff.
