  • The new ‪@SpringfieldArmoryInc‬ Echelon. Boy has this gun gotten attention and deservedly so as it turns out. Today we take the Echelon to the range and then take a first look at this new duty 9mm. No, ‪@SpringfieldArmoryInc‬ did not send me this gun for the review and it wouldn't matter if they did because you will always get my honest opinion on anything through this channel. What are your thoughts on the new ‪@SpringfieldArmoryInc‬ Echelon? I look forward to your comments.
    Thank you for stopping by and God Bless.

    When I was in Afghanistan and worked with the Croatians they where rocking the HS2000/XDs. My personal opinion this is everything that P320 should have been. Most of the GunTubers that received the Echelon, got the pistol with the Trijicon RMR, Surefire X300u weapon light, extra frame and the Safari holster. With each frame you buy (extra frames like Sig) you get the back straps with each frame. The optic mounting system is probably the best I have sent yet, the pin configuration you can use 30 different optics, the cut is deep enough to where you don’t need suppressor height sights, they co-witness. You will see they try to compare it to the Glock, but its no where near the Glock, It is more like the P320,HK, PDP. It is totally ambi, slide release, mag release. Very well made pistol. I traded my Glock 47 GEN 5 MOS for the Echelon. I run mine with a Trijicon RMR dual luminous optic, Streamlight TRL-1s. The under cutting makes the pistol feel comfortable to shoot. i would recommend this pistol. It’s a keeper. I still have my Glock 19 GEN 5, Sig P220, Beretta M9A3. For the price range of this pistol, it is well worth the money.

    Another outstanding review, thank you! I have not yet taken the opportunity to fire one, but they do seem to be selling well so far. On my last visit to my local, Range USA they told me they had already sold 4 of them that same morning. 👍👍

    Looks like a nice gun. I’ve seen several videos on it and it seems like a good one. I may get one at some point, but I’ll hold off for now since it’s so new. I had an XDM Elite optic ready but I didn’t really care for it.

    Love the video as always. When the images started leaking I was quite meh about this firearm, however after it released and I started watching some trusted reviewers, I started to turn around on it. I just brought mine home this evening and just in some dry fire practice and taking it apart, I like it so far. The COG removal/reinstall takes a bit of practice, it's not as involved as the APX but not quite as easy as the P320. Should get it to the range next week. I really hope Springfield (and third parties) embrace the modularity like Sig did, as I would love to see a G19 size (4" barrel, 15 round mags) option, which if done properly like Sig did, I should be able to buy the new grip and slide assembly and be on my merry way. I love the APX family but the modularity never really shined there, sure I can get different color grips but (unless something changed recently) slide assemblies and such were not available.

    • @MDpolo
      @MDpolo  Рік тому +3

      Thank you very much for your kind words. I would love to see a clock for the modular removable chassis, but I don’t see that in the cards. I’m with you regarding the APX family even though I love the original APX. Let me know how you like the Echelon after you shoot it. Thank you very much for stopping by.

    Love the trigger on the Echelon, The safety feature is wider smoother and goes flush unlike the GLOCKs that pinch my trigger finger. Lots of Glock owners complain about the Glock trigger pinching the finger. I sandpaper the Glock trigger to smooth them out which makes them better.

    The Echelon is an import from HS Croatia, just like the Helion and Hellcat.

  • @onpsxmember

    Nice video. It's hyped a lot since the communication ban is lifted but it seems quite solid. HS produkt makes some quality stuff. I was able to try an H11 (Hellcat) but not enough as I'd like. I was surprised how manageable it was. The contour on the mag release seems like a issue for a high grip while at the same time they got the texture high up as well. The variability of the rds mounting is a huge +. Thanks for the work you put into this. I have to look up if I can make use of the grip modules over here.

    I had a Springfield EMP that came with fixed sights. It required a 6 o’clock hold, which I believe the manual called “combat hold”. The problem I had was figuring out how much low to hold at different distances. I hated it. Changed sights to Dawson.

    Great video. Frequent viewer of your channel. I can attest to your observations on the feel of the Hellcat and Hellcat Pro. They both were very square and not very comfortable to shoot due to the shape of the grip. But the Echelon is more rounded and fits in my hand. The other issue I had with the Hellcat series is failure to lock open on the last round due to my grip and the placement of the slide release. Not a problem with the Echelon. My vote is for the Echelon.

    Glock has me covered when it comes to polymer guns. It's not that Glock is the end all; it's just that I'm already heavily invested in their products. I've been shooting Glock pistols since the 1980's, so I'm pretty proficient in their use. I have a lot invested in barrels, sights, triggers, guide rods, holsters, controls and magazines. I'm so satisfied with my Glocks, as outfitted, I have never felt the need to jump on the Staccato or Prodigy bandwagons. As self-defense tools, those guns don't do anything my Glock pistols can't do. The same goes for the Echelon.

    I had a chance to shoot the Echelon. It's a decent firearm, but not for me. The slide features are ok, but I hate the grip, and the trigger is so, so for me. Just me, I guess. I better be careful saying that. Companies have been getting offended these days when you tell the truth.

    I have not really seen anything out of this pistol that warrants the MSRP.🤷‍♂ I am a fan, and do in fact own 2 Springfield Armory pistols, and the Hellcat is my EDC. But there is no need for another striker fired polymer 9mm in my house. They will have to come out with an option that is compact in nature as the Hellcat, but come on Springfield, the only thing I see wrong with the Hellcat is the lack of grip options...🤷‍♂ The Hellcat feels good in your hand, until you squeeze the trigger, and then it is a little B!@#.😯 And to those on blood thinners, get yourself some gloves.👍Unless you like purple hands.🤷‍♂

    • @CookieMonster_1969

      Oh yeah, your question... on the name alone I would chose the Springfield over Glock every time. I am not a Glock fan, got nothing against Glock, they are popular for a reason, but I have yet to pick one up that did not feel like a turd in my hand, and they are by no means the only ones to fit this description. But I've never picked up a Springfield and thought that, it is what it is.🤷‍♂
