4x4 dressed wood is 3.5" so fits inside bracket without shaving or pounding. Other 4x4 needs thorough drying first, also prevents problems but drying can take 3 weeks plus. Hope that helps others, thanks for sharing your experience. Looks great!
Thank you so much for this video! We were about to buy another cheap sun umbrella but luckily found this! Looks like I have to invite the men in the family for a project very soon!

Hi it amazing. Where did you order the connectors, the black mettal came in the boxes? Also do the curtain/roof, can be odered through same company? Thx
Yes we do store it for the winter and yes it is waterproof. When we know we are getting a storm we remove it just to be safe but it has gotten rained on many times and it’s held up nicely. Thank you for watching!!
Its holding up great, we haven’t had any issues. The screen on top isn’t meant for rain it’s just for shade, so rain does come through it. Thank you for watching!
We don’t put them away and they are good it’s been two years now. We do put the cushions away but I also sprayed them with water resistant spray in case we don’t put them away quick enough.
Hi - Quick question with regards to the pavers - did you attach the feet of the posts to the pavers - and if so - what did you use? Did you drill into the pavers > or did you remove the pavers and put down concrete?
We did two things to secure it. First we anchored the pergola to the deck by drilling the sides of post into the pergola. Second, we drilled the feet of the posts into the pavers by using tapcon screws.
What are the materials actually used? You only list only a couple. Be nice if in the listing it included where to get the pergola brackets from. Maybe I'm missing it. But your patio look awesome
I believe I did say it, the brackets are part of the kit that you would buy from Toja grid. Only thing we needed to buy to make it is the wood. Everything else comes in the kit as far as building it. We stained the wood so we needed that. As far as tools you can see that all in the video. Thank you for watching!!
It only prevents sun. The rain will go through the top sail. If you want to check their website I believe they were coming out with a kit that would prevent rain or perhaps a gazebo style from somewhere would be best for that.
@@jojobelashares thanks for the fast reply. They have their grid 30 style but I emailed them and said they don’t have anything that would work with this style. I really want the pergola so maybe I’ll try to find a different shade that blocks water as well then.

Does it shake? I saw another video saying shake a little, up to 4 inch at the very top if you apply some pressure to it. 4:10 mark on the video below. ua-cam.com/video/jzkiJrKLp7o/v-deo.html
Although you say that someone should have 5-6 people to help erect the pergola, I think you're grossly underestimating the actual number of people that are required. If you pay very close attention to the video, at minute 4:56, you'll see a streak of pink that comes shooting across screen from the right. In the next few scenes that flash of pink slows down enough to see that the flash is actually your project manager, and your PM has the strength of your so-called 5 or 6 helpers

great details on the video, i was wondering about the same thing when using pressure treated wood.
Glad I could help!
Pressure treat wood is very swollen From all the moisture. Takes a couple of weeks to dry out enough and shrink back to it normal size.
Excellent job !
Thanks for the video ! ❤️

Nice work! Quick question, how sturdy is it? Does it move too much?
It’s heavy and very sturdy, we actually had a bad winter storm and it’s holding off great! Thank you for watching!
thanks so much for posting this video since this is in my scope to do soon. question for you, is the plastic case for a flat screen T.V?
Happy to help! Yes it’s an outdoor waterproof case that stores the tv mounted to the wall.
Just curious when getting the kit you have to purchase 4x4 separate or they provide at place of purchase?
Yes you would have to buy the 4x4 separate, we bought ours at Home Depot. Thank you for watching!

We bought the sofa at Walmart. Thank you for watching!

Sorry I don’t, it was done by the contractor and he got it from his supplier.
Does the bracket heavy? I’m curious because I want to order from US and ship to Japan.
The brackets aren’t super heavy, the kit that we purchased came in 5 boxes. Depending on which one you get you might get less or more.
Where did you get the shades
did yall secure it to the ground? if so then how after its put together?
Is that fan water proof? You dont have issues with it getting wet?

Yes we did, we anchor it to the deck and to the pavers, thank you for watching!

Yes it is an outdoor fan and we had an electrician come and hard wire it to a switch. We purchased the fan from Amazon. Thank you for watching!
How has wood and materials held up so far after 3 years?
