UNDER $240 DIY PERGOLA WITH CONCRETE CINDER BLOCKS - CAN BE RENTER FRIENDLY!

- Hey!
I'm so excited to bring you guys this easy, on a budget DIY pergola for less than $240! I did the project in less than 4 days. This is a perfect quick & easy summer project. It gives you so much shade from the sun with the canopy & sheer net curtains...I love that you can open & close it and it's so big & roomy! You can also make it small if you like a cozier feel.
Also, by adding solar lights and string lights, it gives you that ambiance feel perfect for those summer nights. This is perfect for a patio or grass area no matter is you have a big backyard, small backyard, big patio or small patio!
I used concrete cinder blocks and wood post for this pergola because it's really durable and it can be renter friendly which means it's removable. If you want it to be permanent, you only have to do one extra step!
Finally, I just love the touch by adding some plants! I used dirt, lemon grass, spikes, dragon flowers, and other plants that I don't know the name of lol. Most of the plants are annuals!!!

Girl !!!!!you did that Shout out to mom...that's what us mom's are for.....love love love it
The renter friendly inspiration I needed. Readymade gazebo weights are expensive, and we can’t drill into the ground or walls. Thank you! The lemongrass and flowers were a super cute touch.
I’m glad I could help! Thank you!!!
I think painting the cinder blocks would soften the look of them. Your project came out beautiful!
This is very practical and looks elegant. Exactly what I was searching for. Tells Moms she nailed it!
Brilliant! I have not seen anyone do anything even similar. This is what I have been searching for. Congrats, it is beautiful!
Just bought everything i need to make this including part 2… so excited!!
You have no idea how much I needed this! It turned out beautifully
that looks amazing and gave me a great idea to do this without buying one of those overpriced kits , thanks so much!
Great job! I also like that you kept it simple but also made it look great. Concrete blocks are still one of the cheapest things a person can buy and as you have shown, are very versatile.
Absolutely love the way you explain everything how detailed you are and how creative you are not only as a stylist but as a content creator wow I know your mamma is proud so young and doing life right super sweet you get to experience it all with your mom miss mine like crazy every day we used to make Christmas wreaths with clothes hangers and trash bags and little decorations and sell them she was so crafty absolutely so happy to find your channel can’t wait to see more🥰
Awwww thank you so much and my mom is amazing! I’m sorry for your loss and I’m so happy you still have those memories with her! Keep making more memories because I’m sure she’s looking down on you smiling ❤️
@@CozyCozy ❤️thank you for this beautiful message
Anything that you do on your own is great... I'm a firm believer in DIY. Your backyard looks awesome
This is perfect for the outdoor patio space at my rental apartment. So glad I found you.
Hey! Sorry about the delay, I have been busy with some exciting news I’ll tell you soon. The top of the pergola video will be up before the end of the week, I promise!!!!
Looks fantastic
Looks great! Looking forward to the covered version since that would be my choice! Keep up the great work!!!
I love this idea!! I already have four wooden posts in the ground and the lights
Was the covered version posted yet?
it looks WOW! I love it I love that much I'm going to give a go myself like yourself I'm on a budget, thanks for sharing your amazing work
Beautiful results, love that the family worked together, God bless!
I was trying to figure out how to do this on a rental property. Tell mom's thanks!!! You executed it brilliantly! ❤
Girl you guys did so well and you battle mother nature....please keep your videos coming
This is beautiful.♥️ Thank you for sharing the affordable Pergola idea. I can’t wait to take this idea into my inspiration.🥰
I love how you’re so real about what you’re doing. Like when you forgot what stain was for a second. Love the realism. Plus you treat us like we’re intelligent human beings which I also really like about your channel. Thank you for the awesome video. This is definitely helping me.❤❤
BEAUTIFUL your Mom needs to have ❤ her own DIY TV show she definitely did that and you did ❤ too Peace and Blessings.
This was a great video. Thank U for the Renter friendly tips and tricks. I'm tired of our patio not being covered and wanted something that could be heavy enough to be hurricane proof in Florida. Awesome thinking.
You and your mom are very impressive women! I applaud your creativity and DIY spirit.
You and Mom are absolute Genius! You have given me an idea for a privacy wall. Turn stones on side and slide in 2x4
What clever thrifty women!! I’ve been struggling with cost for building a shade pergola and still able to hold up in the wind and elements here in Northern California. Perfection! Mustard is also my favorite color😂
Same! I'm also in Northern California. I've been looking at different designs, and so far, this seems like the most sturdy. I think it will hold up to the wind.
This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you! I’m glad I could help!
I love it! Thank you fort his video! I have been wanting a pergola without the cost!!!
How beautiful ❤❤❤ So easy but so awesome. How gifted you are. Shoutout to your creative mom ❤❤❤ Was looking for something like this. Thank you ❤❤
Love this! I live on acreage in Hawaii and really needed this easy project! For stain to protect from carpenter bees, if you live in tropics, use old motor oil first, or alone. Bees wont drill and termites dont like it either. Im getting this stuff next week!
You and your mom are absolutely brilliant!
Love love your reveal......I'm so going to build one on my patio!!!!
Thanks for the inspiration. I was trying to come up with a privacy screen idea.!!!!
This is it!!!!!!
That came out so beautiful!!! You did a wonderful job on this.
How gorgeous. Your Mom should be a room designer, or architect. Great ideas
I agree! Thanks Loretta!
Mom is smart
First, Yes, most definitely, Lemon Grass repels mosquitos and some other biting bugs. I love what you've done here, It never would have occurred to me to glue two single blocks together. Unfortunately, I would have walked away disappointed and tried another day or somewhere else to get the double blocks which would have put off the project even further. I love that you used the other three holes to plant into and I love the curtains you put up around your pergola. I am going to look for your video on the material you used and also how you were able to put a canopy on your pergola. You did an absolute splendid job and it looks beautiful all the way to the light caps you purchased for your 4x4 posts. It is videos' like yours that give so many of us inspiration and I am very grateful that you took the time to make a video to share with all of us. May you have an enjoyable bite-free summer with many happy evenings on your beautiful patio. Many Blessings to you always. P.S. I am subscribing to watch more of your videos - Tip: You can also use peppermint plants to keep mosquitos away and also a mixture of Orange oil & Clove oil to keep ants and other crawlies off your patio, hope this helps some.
Wow Suzy!!! Your comment really made my day! I was really discouraged with the blocks at 1st because I originally bought the wrong blocks and I wasted money having to rent a truck twice by having to return them to get new ones. When I got there & noticed they didn’t have double blocks, I was thinking I have to make it work somehow. I remember it being like 90 degrees that day but I made it work lol. I’ll definitely try the peppermint plants & let you know how it worked! Thanks for watching and I’m happy I could help!
“Save big money at Menards!” I haven’t heard that jingle in about a decade so when you mentioned Menards I got so excited. Where I live now everything is super expensive and I thought “there’s no way I can do this for that cheap” well I put everything needed in a cart at home depots online and it was under $240!! I cannot wait to start this project. I adopted a kitty off the streets where I live but my landlord will not allow her inside so I want to build a small space where we can hang out. (Until I find cat friendly housing.) This is exactly what we needed. Thank you so much to you and your mom for this video. 💕 all the other DIY’s like this are super pricy and seem way more complicated than this. You’re making a new cat mom very excited. Thank you so much (,:
