I bought a VW Transporter T6 Kombi Highline van 140bhp diesel SWB with tailgate.
Slowly turning it into a camper van / day van with bed. I will also need something for cooking, cooling, sleeping, drinking ?? Choices to be made.
I have lots more to do though, I have a new electrical system, using Victron components and a Lithium LIFEPO4 battery, so I obviously need to install some power devices. I have a new sound system, with Focal speakers and ibus 2.1 amp, Playstation PS4, which will be removable, TV's on headrests.
Lots for me to look forward too and it would be nice to take you on the journey.
Please do let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.
Vanlife for me is just beginning, it's a great adventure and I'm loving it. 😍

I agree on the front carpet v rubberised flooring. I have the carpet in my latest van and with a dog its a pain to vacuum.
Removable mats are the way forward I believe. Best of both worlds 👍

I bought some small net style pockets which are self adhesive just big enough for a mobile phone ,saves losing them in door pockets etc.

How hard is it to swap the leisure battery for something better?
In theory, very easy. However there are a few factors, any physical size difference could matter dependant on where it’s situated. The biggest factor if your going to lithium is if your current charger is capable of charging lithium.
I've had lots of different types of seat covers over the years, paid all sorts of prices, and they all bloody move, I'm forever having to re-positioning them, are the ones you've got any different? Because I hate seat covers, so whats the cost of reupholstering? Thanks in advance(sorry, I can look that up, just moaning)🤣
The ones I have aren’t the tight fitting ones, they are quite loose. However I haven’t needed to re-position them. They are a good protective cover. Cost to do it properly is about £1,000 - £1,500
Leather is best. Seat Alhambra leather seats so comfy.
Everything is OK! But the seat covers are disgusting.
Please, as a fellow VW van driver, replace them with something of better quality and more pleasing to the eye.
I didn't want to be negative but such a beautiful van and that makes it less beautiful.
They are practical, but I do agree. They won’t be there forever and will be done properly one day. The dry robe seat covers are going to be tested next.
