What a great list! Discworld...it is an indescribable magic system itself! Such a wonderful universe with so many delightful nooks and crannies! Thanks for sharing! I don't think I can pick my top books...but Discworld is definitely one of my favorite spots. And DEATH is one of my all-time favorite characters. Discworld was also a gateway to one of my other favorite authors, Neil Gaiman! I need to widen my fantasy net, but a longtime fan of Tolkien, Terry Brooks, Robin Hobb, Dragonlance, R. A. Salvatore...oh, too many to name!
Great list. I need to do one of these and I feel you when you say it's a lot of work. I have been planning mine for a year it feels like. Great video as usual!
Rhythm of War, The Hobbit, Dune are all on my top 10 too!!! I love all the books on your list. I haven't read Pratchett yet, but after all your reviews they're on my TBR haha
some of my all time fav SFF books are Storm of Swords, Way of Kings, Lies of Locke Lamora, Sleeping Giants, Poppy War, Twelve Kings in Sharakhai, Kings of the Wyld, Project Hail Mary, Drawing of the Three, Sword of Destiny, Bone Shard Daughter, City of Stairs, Age of Myth. If you couldn't tell, I tend to love first books in series the most for some reason haha
I listened to the sun eater series. I love Hadrian. I usually don't care for self indulgent characters but I found Hadrian to be self aware while still being dramatic.I really love that series.
I need to get back to RoW. You gave me hope in that I'm not stoked for two things, and despite you not liking those two things, the book was still a hit for you!
Nice job with your top 100 books. I heard you mention how Jordan and Pratchett are your favorite authors; I love Jordan as well but could never get into Pratchett. I've tried a couple times but just don't like his writing style. But all of the WoT books would place in my top 100 except for probably New Spring. Currently my top 10 are: 10. Words of Radiance 9. The Legend of Deathwalker by David Gemmell 8. The Last Argument of Kings 7. The Gathering Storm 6. House of Chains by Steven Erikson 5. The Bonehunters by Erikson 4. The Way of Kings 3. Legend by Gemmell 2. The Name of the Wind 1. The Shadow Rising, The Fires of Heaven and Lord of Chaos Yes my #1 is a 3 way tie between books 4, 5 & 6 of the Wheel of Time. In my opinion this is the best 3 book stretch ever written in fantasy. I lost so much sleep reading these books back in 1997 when I started this series. I almost lost a job over it, lol. All 3 are 10 out of 5 stars, lol.
So glad to see the final episode of this!!! One of my favorite novels is the fantasy thriller Another Kingdom by Andrew Klavan, you really should check it out.
Wow it’s so crazy how much we overlap. If I did this myself I’d be hard pressed to not have Demon in White, Enemy of God, Way of Kings, and Rhythm of War in my own top 10! Lesson from these videos for me: read Discworld!
Top 10 🤪 fantasy off the top of my head: 10. Elantris 9. A Tiger at Midnight 8. The Necromancers House 7. Red Country 6. Split Infinity 5. Son of the Poison Rose 4. Sandman Slim 3. Changes - Dresden Files 2. Frankenstein in Baghdad 1. The Wind Up Girl All audio books.
I read it with Dan and I didn't know anything about Arthur. I loved these books as well. There's not many documents so every writer will do his own take on this legend. Cornwell wrote this in the period where his research led him to believe Arthur lived in, which is in the 5th century (iirc)
My least favorite WoT book of the first 6 is book 4 and is so high on your list! But thats whats great about books! Whats not for others, may be for you!
I have to ads more 😜 Of Sea and Shadow Black Tongue Thief All of Disc World and Dark Tower Blood Song The Roach The Golem and the Jinn Free the Darkness The Fall is All There Is Reincarnation Blues Perdido Street Station Nophek Gloss Seven Blades in Black Ok um I'm done 😬🤪

Yeah those 3 book stretch in WOT is amazing. I’m rereading Fires of Heaven right now and loving it. Should of ranked it higher 🤣

Yes Discworld! 🎉 Love it! Going Postal is excellent! My favourite series of all time!
Man, you have me very excited for the ones here I haven't gotten to yet! All books I certainly plan to get to!

Yes Ben you will love Discworld!
Going Postal & Empire of Silence are on my TBR! The only exposure I have had with Pratchett is the tv show Good Omens and I ❤ ‘d it!!
I love the show as well. It’s so good. Looking forward to season 2

If you don’t know anything about Arthurian legends can you still read and enjoy the winter king?
Yes 100% the story is just so engaging.
I read it with Dan and I didn't know anything about Arthur. I loved these books as well. There's not many documents so every writer will do his own take on this legend. Cornwell wrote this in the period where his research led him to believe Arthur lived in, which is in the 5th century (iirc)
