Great video! Glad to see so much WoT there. And more expanse hype! Reaper man is also one of my favourite discworld books, it's the philosophical aspects in the Death books I love the most, same for Hogfather.

This series of videos is great! I look forward to each one. Definitely would have several Crichton books on my list. And of course, First Law. Have a great weekend, Dan

I just read Salems Lot too and I love it! Like you, I haven’t read a lot of King but it blew me away. I’ll def be checking out more of his stuff

Thank you for sharing your perspective on the WoT slog. I’m about to head into book 7 and have had sad feelings about it because I love 1-6 so much. I’ll keep in mind what you said, Jordan wanted to stretch his legs and explore the world he created. Love that!

Love this vid series! It’s truly nuts how much our tastes overlap, which means I really have to get on that Berg series and try out my nice omnibus of Jurassic Park/Lost World! Also need to try more Discworld besides Mort for sure.
Loved seeing the Wheel of Time picks on here (all very worthy, and Lord of Chaos might be my fav WoT book), loved seeing the First Law picks (the Blade Itself is such a good book 1!!!), loved the Faithful and the Fallen picks too. Where we definitely diverge from the masses is in enjoying Alloy of Law this much-but it’s so much fun! I’ve read that three times and it was a delight each time. I’m also right with you on loving Royal Assassin and liking its pacing much more than Assassin’s Quest-I’m hoping I will love the rest of the series as much as RA!
Love seeing some Expanse on here, and Caliban’s War is just great stuff with Avasarala and Bobbie. They will indeed return, and the fact that you loved bk 4 bodes EXTREMELY WELL for this becoming an all time series for you-you’re in for such a treat with the rest of the journey!
I’ve also read very little King so far but did enjoy ‘Salem’s Lot (and Apt Pupil), so I think we’ll likely enjoy plenty more from that well.

Thanks for the wonderful comment Ben. Why I love your channel so much. We have very similar tastes and I appreciate your honesty.
Glad to see you liked Alloy of Law as much as I did. There’s something so charming about it. Plus Myles hundred lives was so underrated. The idea he introduced if compounding was so well done with that villain.

@@TreeBeardBookReviews Yessss Myles Hundred Lives was soooo good -- relatable motivations and such cool magic that added such a sense of danger to his presence

Great video! Can the Alloy of Law be read without having gone through all its predecessors?

I don't think it can. Its set a few hundred years after the events of Era 1 and the events of Era 1 form the basis of society and religion in this new era. I would highly recommend reading Era 1 first. Its gives a great foundation of the magic system and the world Brandon is building.

"the ending is the weakest part of this book" 😂 you're going to be saying that a lot about Stephen King books!
