I like to make combination jams. Today I picked some blackberries and then made rhubarb, blackberry, pineapple jam. I want to try just rhubarb jelly but just have Ball liquid pectin right now. We live in a small town so won't be getting any other anytime soon. Gonna give it a try.
Hi Linda. What a beautiful jelly. Looks delicious. Thanks so much for sharing your great videos with us. Have a wonderful day. Cant wait to see your next recipe. Hugs ❤️🇨🇦
your enthusiasm is contagious :-). I made strawberry/rhubarb jam this year, but may have to try straight jelly next year. Thank you for your vids - enjoy them! God Bless!
I just picked some stalks from my rhubarb. This is my 3rd time of picking them and I have more stalks this time. Oh, I have the Crimson Red Rhubarb. They are cute. I am very happy that you are using the Balls pectin in this recipe because this is all I have. My store only sells Ball's Classic Pectin. I feel better that I will not mess up the recipe. Thanks for sharing this Linda. I am a happy little vegemite :)
Linda, I Always thumbs-up! You went to all the trouble to make this video and even if I wasn't interested in the topic (but I am!) I still appreciate all the work you did. My rhubarb has been crazy-productive this year. I've actually just been picking it to put on the compost to keep it happy. Am going to make this in two days and am looking forward to your future videos showing ways you use the rhubarb jelly. Thank you so much!
Hi Linda, I tried rhubarb for the first time this year. I made strawberry rhubarb jam and my family loved it!Thanks to you we have yummy jars of goodness! Rhubarb is no longer available in my area, so I'll stock up next spring. Thanks for another great canning session.
I use a steamer/juicer so that I can freeze my rhubarb juice and then I mix it with a sparkling water it tastes like summer in the middle of winter. The steamer/juicer also works great with crab apples and it is so much easier than having to use a jelly bag. Thanks again for another great video,
if you have lots of lemons you can make your own pectin....it's quite easy.....we don't not get pectin easy where I stay so making it is our best option.
OHHHHH I'm too short for that job and you are too! Just kidding. I did rhubarb juice early this spring. What a wonderful flavor! and it makes great Lembarb punch! Thanks for the tutorial, perfect as always!
The thing I kept thinking the whole time you were making this was this: The rhubarb jelly looks fabulous and I want to make it!!! However, if I were making it, I think I would've added a bit more water in the beginning so that after I measured out my original recipe's worth of the juice, I could use the rest of the juice and the meat of the rhubarb together with strawberries and make jam too. I'd get twice the product on my shelves for just a bit of strawberries added. It's just an idea. Thought I'd share it with you in case it might interest you. Cheers! ❤️
Have you ever used Pomona Pectin? Sorry I'm savvy enough to know how to post a link, something else to learn!!! Husband can show me but he's sleeping. It seems like a good deal compared to other pectin. You are one of the few people on UA-cam who I trust with your canning videos. Thanks in advance. God Bless You and Yours
that color beautiful. I made peach jam with cinnamon for the first time jam maker. I would like to make this and send it to my mom but it's kinda expensive here. great video . yum
Just checked, it lasts forever and you can use it to make no sugar or low sugar jams and such. It has a pectin powder and a calcium powder. Haven't seen anyone use it yet.
I do not use pectin or anything else. I use 1 med to lg apple and cook it down myself until it gels. SSSOOO good and NO preservatives. this is when I make jelly, preserves, jams.
I not sure if I missed or nothing was said how much pectin whether it’s powered or allowed liquid pectin??? And ughhh right in the middle of getting ready to add to my hot pot liquid rhubarb, so guess this is a guessing game now ughhhhh.
Linda, I made this with 3 or 4 kinds of onions including red. I used a little less vinegar, but it still tastes super sharp. Do you vary the recipe a lot depending on the onion? Thanks for all you do.
Hi, wondering if someone can help. I’m in the uk and just starting out with my canning journey. (I’ve had to order a pressure canner from the US as no one has even heard of them here). Anyway, at the advice of many canners on here I bought the Amish canning cookbook but, I’m having a small problem. In the jam making section it says to add a packet of powdered pectin. Over here it comes in tubs, how many grams are in a packet? I have the same problem with the liquid pectin it says 1 pouch, how many millilitres in a pouch? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out. X
Lovely looking jelly! I really enjoy your canning sessions! Living in Canada though, it seems nearly impossible to get something that seems as simple as bulk pectin shipped to us without paying an arm and a leg to ship (if they will even ship to Canada) ... Maybe I'll make my own :)
Well I made this and it looked beautiful and it jelled wonderfully but the 4 and a half cups of rhubarb juice to 6 cups of sugar was no good for me . the rhubarb flavor was all but lost and it just tasted like sugar jelly . I was so disappointed with all the work that went into making this completely from scratch . Next time I'll cut down on the sugar , maybe that will help .
Linda, what are you going to do with all that beautiful rhubarb pulp when your done? My husband would just die if I threw away any part of his beautiful rhubarb. ~SuzyJCinColorado~
This is beautiful rhubarb jelly. I loved your idea of adding a little beet juice to tint the jelly. Thank you.

I love rhubarb and we're doing a garden this year so I hope we have a harvest of rhubarb because I want to try this recipe! Thank you for sharing!
if you have lots of lemons you can make your own pectin....it's quite easy.....we don't not get pectin easy where I stay so making it is our best option.
How do you make pectin?
If I use the steam juicer, can I use that liquid instead of boiling and straining?
So pretty!
OHHHHH I'm too short for that job and you are too! Just kidding. I did rhubarb juice early this spring. What a wonderful flavor! and it makes great Lembarb punch! Thanks for the tutorial, perfect as always!

Did you keep the drained rhubarb for sauce??
Just checked, it lasts forever and you can use it to make no sugar or low sugar jams and such. It has a pectin powder and a calcium powder. Haven't seen anyone use it yet.
Hi Linda have you heard of using jello for pectin or unripe apples like they did it in the olden day's
I do that in my other recipe:)
I do not use pectin or anything else. I use 1 med to lg apple and cook it down myself until it gels. SSSOOO good and NO preservatives.
this is when I make jelly, preserves, jams.
that's awesome
I made homemade pectin last year. How do you know how strong it is though
I know that the jello it is one pack for every pectin I m not sure with the apples
Yum, that jelly looks good. I've never tried rhubarb jelly. What brand of enameled dutch oven pot do you own? I want to get one.

I not sure if I missed or nothing was said how much pectin whether it’s powered or allowed liquid pectin??? And ughhh right in the middle of getting ready to add to my hot pot liquid rhubarb, so guess this is a guessing game now ughhhhh.
Wish Rhubarb would grow here in Phoenix,AZ.
After draining the juice, is the rhubarb good for anything else at all?
You need a link to the enameled dutch oven that you cooked it in

Where do you live, that you grow rhubarb?
Linda, I made this with 3 or 4 kinds of onions including red. I used a little less vinegar, but it still tastes super sharp. Do you vary the recipe a lot depending on the onion? Thanks for all you do.
