    Thanks SO much! Had this very issue at my son's house (disabled) and we came across your video. My husband, who is not a plumber and in fact is a very bad plumber, was about to hire one. Thank's for saving the kid money he didn't even have.

    I can't believe the fix was this simple. I was losing my mind, even unscrewed the hoses to verify the valves were indeed working. Thanks so much!

      Hey Steve, I'm having this issue....the hot water runs fine & the cold water is a trickle. It's a kitchen faucet similar to the one in the video. Can it be solved same way or is it a different issue?

  • @RRada-kx8ip
    @RRada-kx8ip 10 років тому +1

    Hey Steve, I had the exact same problem with our kitchen faucet at home, I would go in with a small screwdriver like you did and get it unstuck but a week or so later the thing would lock up again. I couldn't figure out how to get it out of there so I took a 1/2" drill bit to it and drilled a hole through it...got the same result as you did...still working!

    • @stevenlavimoniere
      @stevenlavimoniere  10 років тому

      Rich Rada the divertas all are different ,the best way is get them out any way possable .the faucet will work better with out it most of the time ..just when you use the spray water will still come out the spout. i have found once the diverta is remove there is better flow of water to the spout. sometime i replace them some time i will leave them out .on older cheap faucet because you can not fine a divera to replace it most of the time ,

    I love the video especially for beginning home owners such as myself, I will say one thing though, I have the exact same faucet right now and it was a 10 mm allen key I went crazy looking for a 12 mm and could not find one at home depot, lowes, true value (all home department stores) and oreillys, advance auto parts, and auto zone (all auto mecahnic part stores) I spent about 3 hours until i decided to give the 10 mm a try and it was the exact fit so make sure if you have that laying around give it a try before you go crazy looking for the 12 mm like he says.

    • @stevenlavimoniere

      Freddy Varez well the diverta i had, took the allen it fit a 12 mm .. your was a different size thats why ,i have the large allen key set. i use the different sizes as i need them. not all part and faucets for japan are the same .or same parts

    I had the same thing happen once never could get pressure to the hot side finally did find out it was a brass screw that got dropped in the water pipe and when you turned the water off at the spigot it would drop to the basement then back up to clog the spigot every time it got turned on.
