I did shift work on the railways for almost forty years, I used to thoroughly enjoy walking home through streets like this, late at night or in the early hours of the morning, gave me time to unwind, think and relax !!!
The decline of the Steel industry took Ambridge down. As a kid it was a thriving, busy place. My dad worked nearby at Bethlehem Steel, and J & L was across the river, Levinson on Duss, etc. fridays and Saturdays were really busy and all kinds of shops on the main street.
What another great drive through and again, thanks for the stats. The stats actually made me more curious so I looked a little further into it. Ambridge is named after the American Bridge Company when it was incorporated as a city. In 1905. Not just as a regular city but a " corporate city". This is a very eye appealing city. A lot of beautiful older buildings that include homes, businesses and churches. The crime stats are what really bothered me so I looked a little further into it. It seems that it was a decent city but in 2018 there began a massive uptick in crime, most being violent crime and home burglary. It's continued on this trend ever since. That's very sad but unfortunately when the economy is as bad as it's been for the past 10-15 years a lot of people are turning to crime which explains the home break-ins. That probably also ties into violent crimes. I thought that drugs could be a part of these crimes but Ambridge has a very very low drug related crime stat. The poverty level is only about 5 points higher than the national average but it's certainly not as bad as thousands of other cities. One thing for sure is that you don't see the crumbling vacant homes and businesses plaguing the city. As far as the crime goes I also noticed that the city has a lot of bars or clubs. I believe this also adds to the violent crime stats of this city. With all that I really like this place and it was a great Sunday drive. Thanks 🤠👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for the night ride ! Nice perspective on an area that used to thrive...the cover of darkness does help to ease the poverty in this area..STAY SAFE !
I grew up in East Liverpool and my family had friends in Ambridge so we visited occasionally. For a poverty level similar to EL, the downtown looks well-kept and the shops for the most part look like they are currently doing business. Glad to see it.
Ciao e buon lavoro. 👍👏🇮🇹. From verona.
Las calles estan limpios , me habria gustado haber vivido por un lugar asi . Apenas me parece tranquilo . Estoy en ver a las ciudades unas del.usa que las personas que se quedan por muchas calles sin hogar , siguen probando a hacer continuar sus vidas montando la tienda en las esquinas calles . Gracias por usted video ❤❤❤
Can you come back to Midland PA? I live there & would love to tell you about the area. I could also tell you about Shippingport, Hopewell, Independence, Aliquippa, Ambridge, Beaver, Beaver Falls, New Brighton, & other places in Beaver County, PA!

Seems like a perfectly normal American town, clean and quiet. I was surprised by the number of businesses, given the modest population.

Dave in England Thanks for Sharing This .
Thanks for another fine drive through. I don't think the town looked that bad. I've seen others on your channel a lot rougher than this place.
Awesome video brah
You did it again ❤😊.
It's not so bad as other towns, but gives you an eerie feeling

A few rough spots but what town doesn't have? Otherwise, looks like a nice community. Thanks.

I actually did I just need to edit and upload. Love that area
Next can you do harmony township?
I dont understand why there is no Mom and Pop market in town. You have to go down the highway somewhere to shop for food. It's all by design, though.
No Alliquippa has that distinction. This isn’t quite as bad as I thought. thank God. Hey there’s Rt 989!!
time looks like 1:30 AM... I grew up in a small coal mine town and it was safe and just about everyone knew each other...
🎉will you please make longer videos.. 25min to 35mins,will be ideal. Thanks in advance
Great video 😂😂
WOW!!!
It could be a cute town if it was revitalized.
Ambridge used to be the home of the American bridge building of America that’s how it got its name they used to build bridges there to be used all over America

Ambridge has its few things that happen, but one of the most dangerous in PA?? I can’t see that
Doesn’t seem like to bad a place.
Know the area well.
I'd say philly or Pittsburgh is more dangerous than Ambribge heck even Reading. Thanks for the ride along. From Honey Brook PA
another steel town that disappeared....
Doesn’t seem that bad to me.
