- Hold onto your metric systems folks...we're kicking off the first of hopefully many euro-trips with a €140 barbecue challenge in Finland that only one person has ever managed to conquer!
They call it 'Meat Impossible' and it contains over 2.5kg of smoked meats and sides, plus a litre of pop and an ice cream so cold you could use it to remove warts. If you can finish it inside one hour it's FREE and you get a Miller's BBQ cap! If not, it'll cost you...

As an American who's frequented BBQ joints many, MANY times in his life, that brisket looks incredible. Very surprised at the smoke ring and how moist it looked.
what do you think about the value tho? i think 140 bucks for a small tray like that is insane. i live in finland and its very expensive living

American here as well. I think it's awesome that there's an American style bbq place in Finland, but holy shit that's an insane price for that amount of food! Crazy expensive even now! Double what it would cost in America. 😮

I had a client who spoke only Finnish. He taught me to say merry Christmas Happy New Year and I love you. This came in handy when I randomly came across the Finnish Jr Mens Hockey team who were in town for the Jr World Hockey Championship. You can imagine how shocked they were to hear that outside of Finland.
Lol I'm Finnish and living outside Finland, one of my classmates knew how to say "Welcome Santa Claus" for some weird reason that he never told me. Next time tell them "Tervetuloa Joulupukki".
Again, an awesome video. I think the Finnish-series was some of the best stuff you've put out this year. (I watched these in wrong order 😅) And I'm not saying it because I'm a Finn, but the videos just had more than just the business side of enjoying 'tiny dishes' :P Mayne it was the good collaboration you seemed to have with Mr. Pynnönen! :) Anyway great video again, and now I'm hungry. Maybe I'll head to Miller's next summer, fail the challenge and pay up the huge bill... 😂

@@craigfoulkes Literal translation means "FINLAND PERKELE TO THE MARKET" Which is just a common thing to say whenever someone outside of Finland mentions Finland in any way. It's more of a meme that basically means "Gather at the market" because someone mentions our country and giving it recognition. Perkele is just a swear word

Challenge though is good big volume at once seller albeit waste likely on it is high as many fail the challenge
@@justaguyfromreddit a main course is typically 20-30 euros in a restaurant, and that looks like several main courses as well as dessert. I don't think they make you pay extra if you fail the challenge haha

My hometown (Lahti) has a yearly eating competition of a meat mug around feb/march time (kinda just kebab in a mug haha!) and a 2 kilo burger challenge also.

Has lived between Finland, Sweden, Norway, and England and Scotland for many years. I wouldn't say Finns are at all like brits. The Nordic peoples have a very unique character and humour.

It's awesome to see Texas style BBQ find its way over the Pond! Saw on their website that they actually traveled to Texas to learn our methods. And their brisket looks absolutely legit!

I didn't know it was Texan style but barbecue has been a really popular way to cook food in Finland for a very long time, much before we ever interacted with USA
USA is a hatchling in terms of culture, almost all of your culture comes from other countries.
As a Finn, that was insane amount of meat you were eating in first 10 minutes!
As a Texan I can honestly say that that looks like some damn fine barbecue. But also as a Texan, I would like to try this challenge because it looks like same amount of food I had for lunch this weekend. Plus I want the cool hat!

@@jamesbutler6253 as a Finnish guy I can say that it's definitely not typical Finnish food, they are going for American/Texas style barbecue here so I think the guys would be happy to get the seal of approval from a Texan. I know I would!
@@jamesbutler6253 Because Texas is known as the #1 BBQ state in America. BBQ joints like this stems from Texas and a Texan approving is a really nice compliment to the establishment.

Perkele is not an untranslateable word. It used to be the name of the thunder god in baltic mythology before finland became christianized when the word perkele started to mean something like "devil" or "satan" instead.

Adam also came close to doing the challenge in half the time of the record. That fake ice cream must have been really cold. It took about as long as the rest of the challenge. 😂😂

Bummer. I hope it comes back. That happened to me the first time I had it too. It came back, but wasn't quite right. 6 months after, my brain must have been trying to relearn those senses. I was stuck with a lingering stench of ashtrays whenever there wasn't any other odour competing. Finally that went away, thank goodness. Good luck

Watching this! I lived in Tampere, Finland for a short while. I think you should try and eat as much of Maksalaatikko as you can... It wasn't my favorite but the hubby loved it!

i have never tried brisket but would love to try it the best beef i ever had was when i cooked a joint of beef in the oven for 5 hours wrapped in silver foil with a bit of water and smothered in honey and used the juices from what was left in the silver foil with some Bisto gravy granules it was lovely
I really enjoyed watching this video BMF even though I'm trying to eat smaller portions and lose weight. Everything looked delicious, almost makes me want to travel to Finland!

Just noticed the vid, i visited Miller's BBQ back in May in 2023 and i've been recommending the place to everyone who has any business in Hämeenlinna or is just passing through. Literally ate until i felt like barfing and this rarely happens. The food is top notch BBQ .

The sides looked really good, except the potatoes. But the Blu cheese dip on the side might have helped. Brisket, just wow!! Moist, tender looking.

Funny story, when I was at school we had to record an assessment on tape (yes, I’m that old) and although my grammar was pants, the teacher said my accent was exceptional. One of the top three compliments of my life 😂

Ive been subscribed since 2018 and for some reason this is the only channel that I never miss an upload. Not only do you eat out for free but you also made it entertaining and turned it into a career

Food prices going up. Theres an online meat store over here in Finland where i sometimes order in bulk and they have this 1.5 kilo chunck of ribeye that before the rona times was 49.90 euros. Today as i checked the same chunk is now almost 70 euros.
