    Great review learned a few things. Guess I should read the owner’s manual. I purchased a US spec Q7 Prestige new and it’s been flawless for going on 5 years now. We generally trade in at 3 years or so but we like this Audi so much we plan on keeping it for another couple years until the extended 7 year warranty is expired. Very likely buy another Audi Q car. BTW we regularly tow a 5k lb trailer and it tows beautifully.

      Excellent! I’m glad you’re enjoying the car and thanks for the feedback.
      It is an exceptional car that can serve any family very well for many years! I am a bit disappointed that I didn’t get to tow in mine, as I do enjoy towing and I was sure the car would be able to take it in its stride.

    acquired mine used. Couldn't afford a new one - especially the unit acquired (under $64K with well around 47K kms) which was well over $110K Canadian currency due to being an exclusive edition. Don't you just love it?!?! Only problem I have with it is that it chews tyres quickly due to it's weight and limited tyre choices for the 21inch alloys :(.All in all, you covered ALL the details mate - cheers!

      @PaulsViewsReviews  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching.
      My total MPG during the year I ran the car was around 30, I seem to remember: If you stuck to more urban trips, which I did, it would sit between 25-30mpg, typically. I remember completing motorway trips, where I used the adaptive cruise control and didn't accelerate too quickly or exceed 70mph, and I achieved in excess of 40mpg sometimes, albeit not too often!
      I didn't have a single issue with reliability in my time with the car, and this had already done 45k miles when I bought it. It really was just a pleasure to drive. Find one with a warranty, just for reassurance, and I don't think you can go too far wrong.
      Thanks again.

    Hi Paul, I just watched the video again, I was curious as to where and how you originally sourced your Q7 to get the perfect level of spec ? also what you paid and then where and how did you dispose of it , and what you sold it for , what was your depreciation ? How long did you own it for ? Sorry for the barrage of questions... Your video is the best review on the Q7 i have seen, and I do enjoy carwow Matt Watson ;)

    • @PaulsViewsReviews
      @PaulsViewsReviews  2 роки тому +4

      Hi. To find the car with the right spec I just kept an eye on the Audi used car website until it came up. I then bought it unseen from an Audi dealership for £36k and sold it back to the same dealership a year later for £34k.
      On reflection, I would be unlikely to buy unseen again, as there were cosmetic elements of the car which I didn’t love and then took weeks being back at the dealership to get up to the standard I expected. They didn’t mind doing it, as they knew they should have done it anyway, I suspect, but it was still a pain.
      The dealership also knew they had a sought after car so wouldn’t budge on price, which was frustrating at the time but worked out well when I sold it back to them, I guess, as my depreciation was pretty minimal, especially as the previous owner must have lost over £40k in his three years of ownership.

    I am very interested in a used Q7 but hear about so many electrical gremlins that it’s off-putting. I love the styling and it is very comfortable - but I’m no mechanic (I can do fluids, spark plugs in gas cars, and minor stuff). VW/Audi history of being unreliable concerns me.
    I’m in need of a reliable, cross-country AWD in the below $15k range. The one I’ve looked at is a 2013 TDI, Premium Plus, $13k, 136k miles on it.

    • @PaulsViewsReviews
      @PaulsViewsReviews  Рік тому

      I think, unfortunately, that the more luxurious the car, the more electrics, the more could potentially go wrong.
      I have had friends with Q7s of both the generation I had and the previous generation, which would be the 2013 model - they did moan about tyre wear on the earlier generation but none moaned about electrical failure. As with any used car of that age, I guess you'll just have to roll the dice and hope for the best but there are plenty out there so take your time and be picky. Good luck!

      @@PaulsViewsReviewsMy feeling about adaptive air suspension (not only Audi but any brand) is that it’s great if you are leasing, but if you own it, it’s very prone to failure. Many people decide to remove air suspension when it fails and replace it with standard suspension parts. I once rented a midsize sedan, but they were out of that class, so they gave me a free upgrade to a BMW X7 with adaptive suspension; it was great, but I shudder to think how much a failure would cost to repair!

      It is definitely worth biding your time for the right spec, as it makes a difference to the overall ownership experience. I did consider the e-tron... right up until I realised that the battery goes in place of the 6th and 7th seat, which I think are part of the Q7's appeal.
      I think if you want a hybrid and 7 seats, I would go for the XC90 - fab car and the T8 has 450BHP!

    Paul..... I came across your very interesting video whilst surfing UA-cam for reviews of latest edition Audi Q7's. I currently own a 3-year-old 272 HP Q7 (Not quite the high spec version in your video) which I purchased new from Wakefield Audi in Sepember 2019. The vehicle has covered 31K very trouble-free miles with only normal servicing & a new set of tyres at 20K. Fuel consumption has been textbook & shows a recorded 42 Long Term mpg in summer months which drops to about 37 mpg in Winter. I purchased the car for 41K which included 2 free services & it is valued not much less than that currently. Very cheap luxury motoring in my book & a fantastic, reliable, large, powerful & very flexible machine. Certainly, consider another when the time comes but cannot get my head round what Audi have done with Petrol v Diesel, mpg, tax etc etc. What do I buy next without paying a fortune? I am reluctand to let go of this one, I would like to trade up to Vorsprung but they demand big books, even secondhand. Your advice please?

    • @PaulsViewsReviews
      @PaulsViewsReviews  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Chris. By the sound of things, I’d just stick with your existing car. If you are enjoying it and the costs are agreeable, especially with car values being so strong right now, keep enjoying it until this ceases to be the case.
      There’s not too many ways to follow up a Q7 without spending a fortune or compromising on something. I moved to a company Tesla Model 3 and, while I love this car and the resulting savings, I do miss the luxury and practicality of the Q7. If I’d been able to get a company Model Y then I think I’d have been quite happy, but that wasn’t an option.
      Enjoy your car until you don’t, would be my advice.

      @PaulsViewsReviews  Рік тому +1

      Hi. Thanks for your question. This version of the Q7 has a pretty good reputation regarding reliability (based on the research I did before purchase).
      As for my car, I bought it from a main dealers and it had one previous owner, so the history was concise and complete, giving nothing away about any possible work done.
      I did have to get some jobs done but they were solely cosmetic, as the previous owner had not cared for the car as much as I would have done (scratches on the centre console, door and even window!).
      You will love the car, I am sure, and it is definitely a lot of car for the money. Unfortunately, this means there are plenty of things that could become expensive problems at some point. My advice at this price point would be to try and stick to main dealers for your purchase and get a 12 month Audi warranty to put your mind at rest in that first year. Hope you find what you need!

    • @PaulsViewsReviews
      @PaulsViewsReviews  2 роки тому +1

      Hi. I kept the Q7 for about a year before moving to a company Tesla and I reflect with nothing but positivity about the car.
      My only advice would be make sure you get the specification you want and don’t compromise - there are enough out there to ensure you get what you want.
      Also, make sure the internal panels are as tidy as the external ones - I got Audi to replace the centre console in mine because there were key scratches all over it.
      Same with the seats - mine was quite worn on the drivers bolster when I bought the car and I made sure it was refurbished (though it still always looked a bit more worn than I would have liked).
      Happy shopping and good luck!

    You sir are totally wrong. Anyone who buys one of those s in for crippling expensive repairs and crushing depreciation. Avoid like the plague. You are giving very bad advice.

      You do need some money behind you if you go down the route of any ‘luxury’ car from a premium brand, but I still think the Q7 is a good choice in that particular market.
